Amazing and busy local business, it has a large selection of milkshakes and has a variety of freshly made food and all items are at an amazing price for quality and quantity. I often drive 1 hour just for lunch here once every few weeks

While waiting for our order a new girl took over the window. She basically stood around for a bit and then left. Appears again with her back towards the window simply charting up the cleaning lady. After calling out for her for about 2 mins she finally heard us and we followed up on our order. She goes on a rant how they change shifts every 4 hrs n the other guys just left the orders n she just made it (as she picks up our order sitting there for a while to hand over) basically throwing her team under the table and informing is of their schedule which we didnt need to know. Just receiving our milkshake n small fries took longer than driving to it and placing our order collectively.
Shakes are really good. Onion rings a good choice as well.
People always rave about their burgers but they don't stand out at all for me, much better places if you want a burger. Milkshakes are worth coming for on their own however.
It used to be way better. I'm pretty sure the burger patties used to be big enough that I wouldn't lose them in bun. By double burger felt like less than a single.
Been going to Peter's Drive in since the early 60's. Always the same great food. Onion rings are like nowhere else on earth and the shakes....so think you need a spoon. A million combinations. Yummy yummy in my tummy. Nostalgic and a way to spoil yourself once in a while.
Peter's is an integral part of the heart and soul of Calgary. If I ever have friends visiting from out of town, I insist on bringing them to enjoy a big, sloppy triple cheese and a milkshake of their own design, just to MAKE them fall in love with the city as a whole.
The worse burger i have ever had from Peter's drive. Does not taste anything like calgary or red deer burgers. The patty was thinner than a McDonald's cheeseburger.
Weekends are busy, the quickest way to get food is to just walk up to the front area instead of waiting to get into the drive through on the weekends which is super busy. There's a back parking lot which makes dining there fairly easy instead of waiting for the long line
I Love Peter's Drive In ! I stop in for a triple burger almost every time I am in Calgary. I also go to the Red Deer location at least twice every month.
Awesome burgers, fries, onion rings. Really huge portions ( sorry took pictures after eating 1/2 the rings) Best milkshakes ever. Worth the drive and the wait!
Burgers and fries were okay, milkshakes were really good though, they have tons of flavors and they just taste really good, but i don't recommend the other food
Calgary Staple! If you're in town for the first time you MUST try their milkshakes! TONS of flavors and combinations and good food to boot! Outdoor eating only. Great place to hang with friends
Good burgers and shakes that are abnormally large. The single burgers come with 1.5 patties, and the family sized fries are truly good for a family. The shakes are great too, as they allow for 3 options to be blended together.
I've had more bad experiences from Calgary's finest establishment than I have had good.
Their onion rings are top notch.
I've had hamburgers which were served cold and soggy on two occasions, bland cold fries on another occasion and just this weekend I had a sad excuse for a mint milkshake (their main attraction). It tasted like the only flavoring was green food die.
Only got a shake, it was good but only after about an hour - once we could actually suck it through the straw. Perhaps switching to a wider straw might be a good move??
Pretty good, a bit more pricier than other fast food places, but it's a local business at the end of the day. It takes a bit longer than usual to order and get your food but nothing too crazy. All in all, great food.
It was the worse food I have come across in my 58 years on this planet. The fries were horrible. Skinny overcooked grease ladened bits of potato with as much taste as cardboard and the burger.. over powering chunks of onion and sauce( I was told I could NOT get mustard only) on 2 pre-formed and pre-made meat patties between wrinkled and steamed buns. I took a bite of the (supposedly ) hamburg without all the dressing and that tasted worse than the fries. The chocolate milk shake , well, it was thick....that was it.......I was to be chocolate and yes, it was brown and it was cold and it was thick but to give a name such as chocolate...I could not do it......Paid close to $12 and tossed out 95% of the meal . Would lay good odds even the gulls wouldn't touch it..Next time I eat there, it will be by gunpoint.
Seriously a Calgary staple. Simple simple but always good. Had the seasonal pumpkin spice milkshake and it was awesome. The onion rings are always ordered when we go... Can't wait to get back.
Best milkshakes in Calgary. A place you must go to at least once in your life. The place hasn't changed since it was opened, it's a blast from the past. Everything is a good price for the amount you get. Burgers, fries and a milkshake, out on the picnic table at the walk up diner, perfect way to spend an evening.
Nothing overly fancy or extra at Peters, they focus on the quality the food and execute it well. Still the best place in the city to go to for a good old fashioned burger, MOUNTAIN of fries and milkshake
Pretty authentic fast food experience here. They are quick with orders and have all the greasy options for those looking for a quick bite or a road trip snack. The milkshakes are pretty good too, but be careful of your intake as that's a lot of lactose for anyone.
A classic of the calgary fast food scene, The milkshakes are thicker than a blizzard and twice as good! highly reccomend the real fruit sundaes as well. The family sized fries will feed you for DAYS. Not to mention the friendly staff and the speedy service.
