Penobscot Theatre is local theatre that actually like it's professional. The performances are nearly always perfection. They vary the offerings so no single genre becomes a habit. Because they are so good, each one comes off fresh. We highly recommend you skip a night at the movies to discover how good this experience can be.

Mamma Mia was outstanding. So lucky to have the talent and theatre in Bangor!

Went on New Years Eve and really enjoyed Last Dance, the Tom Petty tribute band! I was very impressed with the new seating! No more old ratty cramped seats! Penobscot Theater is a gem located at the starting point of Downtown Bangor

Well everyone will ,be very kind and wecoming and the they have food there i think popcorn and stuff its mostly like plays and what not but it was fun non the less i had quite a blast i would recomend to try this place at least once very warm.atmophere and the walls and decorations are all nice and fun ?!

This is the first time I have ever been to a live performance. I went to see Ripcord. I gave a standing ovation. I loved their performance!!! I am returning to see Anne of Green Gables. I am super excited!!!

We thought the "Last Dance" band was wonderful! We had a lot of fun singing along with the songs. Heather Libby is fantastic singing "Stop Draggin my Heart Around"!

Just watched - 'Don't Dress For Dinner' at the Penobscot Theatre. A truly fabulous performance. The place was packed! It is absolutely wonderful to see a business that is doing so well in downtown Bangor. Simply a - must go! :) Lance

Saw Mama Mia. Excellent show. Had bought ticket for the wrong evening, which they allowed me to exchange. Show set was amazing! So glad I was there!

What a wonderful gem this place is. I visited here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the play Beauty and the Beast. The acoustics were great making every word of the musical understood. The theatre is cozy and the staff friendly and helpful. There is also a wine bar and you can take your drink to your seat. I think that this is community theatre at its best.

This was the best spent time. We laughed for 2.5 hours straight.

Nice and clean theater with moderately spacious seating. Everyone working was friendly and helpful. They have a cute little snack bar with reasonable prices. It was a fun evening out!

Loved Mama Mia plays at Penobscot Theatre are always done so well

The Penobscot Theatre is a treasure for Bangor. While the Theatre remains physically closed during Covid, it is alive in spirit. The theatre is located in the old opera house and offers a variety of plays during the year. It is in the downtown part of Bangor. During the temporary closure you can find the theatre online. It is worth a visit if you support culture.

The actors and actresses are great performers! And the staff is also wonderful

Went for first time and saw Matilda....was absolutely hilarious. A must see!

They all our so very talented , I always enjoy there shows I dont want it to be over they are so good, I cant get over how they never forget there lines the talent is amazing, the set, the light I'm never disappointed

Very impressed with the show (Elf the Musical). Lots of fun and all of our middle school students really enjoyed it! This was my first time being here, but will definitely be coming back!

Watched the production of don't dress for dinner. The play was fantastic. The facilities seem well maintained the night was perfect. Will return to see more productions.

We drive up from Bar Harbor to see the Woody Guthrie tribute. Nice little theater with an excellent performance.

This has been a place my mom and I have gone for many, many years. We are usually season ticket holders and go to at least two shows a year. This theater is historic and the shows are always amazing. There is so much talent on the stage. Years ago we went and saw their adaptation of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and it was AMAZING. It was actually better than the Broadway version! We attend many shows on Broadway as well, so I think it speaks volumes to the talent at Penobscot that their performances blew the Broadway one out of the water. We have NEVER been disappointed with one of these performances. On top of such great talent the building is historic and has so much history. It's a great night out that is close to home.

A gem of a theater in Bangor, ME. My friend and I have had subscription seats for a few years as the productions are amazing. Highly recommend everyone to catch a show a the PTC.

(Lights Lowering) SSShhhhhh. The Stage Show Of Live Community Theatre Is About To Start. Can't Wait Until The Next Production In Bangor ME!

We absolutely love this place. Never thought plays would be something that my family would enjoy but we went to our first show, Shear Madness, last year and had such an amazing time. Since then we have attended Wait till Dark, and went to see the Honky Tonk Laundrymat twice, the last time being last night having front row seats for my birthday. I bring my mom who is in a wheelchair, and the staff is always so accommodating and helpful. I also bring my 2 teenage daughters who enjoy the shows as much as us "old gals" do. I recommend this place to everyone. It's truly an amazing time had by all. Thank you Penobscot Theatre Company for providing such a great experience. <3

Excellent. Unbelievable talent and outstanding plays

This was our first time visiting the theatre and we were all so impressed! Elf was fantastic, my girls had been in Elf Jr the beginning of December and were so excited to watch the regular version. Theater is a big part of our life and this was the first time we have gone to a professional show! Cannot wait to come again sometime soon!!

Nice theater, good performance. One major character in Mamma Mia was performed from off stage, but otherwise an amazing show. Parking is terrible, so get there early. A gem in central Maine!

Very well done plays, professional quality actors (some are true professionals, some are amateurs, all are very talented), lovely sets. What an asset to downtown Bangor!

Love the cozy, upscale atmosphere here. Saw The Full Monty. It was a phenomenal show. Production was great. Sound was spot on. Actors were extremely talented.

We love going here. Brand new seats are beautiful but to small. People are not a size 2 anymore. Other than that, no complaints.

We had the best time. I can't imagine any seat is "bad" in this theater. The production of Mamma Mia was so great we are going to see it again. Whatever is showing - go - you'll have fun. Soda, local craft beer, water, and wine available
