Great venue, great cast, wonderful eveving, laughed til I cried !
We try to see at least one play every when we are there each summer and always enjoy them. We thought Unnecessary Farce was outstanding! I don't think I've ever laughed so hard. I'm sorry that other reviewer didn't like it.
The plays for children are also a lot of fun for the preschool/elementary school set.
Been there once a year, 40 times. Always enjoyable.
I have been working at Acadia Repertory Theatre for many summers and I can truly say that the company pours their heart and soul into every show every year. Theatre magic on a magical island!
Very nice performance by professional in a rustic setting. Worthwhile evening's diversion from gorgeous island scenery. Not a "must" go. Rather, a strong "should" go!
This is a very talented group. So glad I went to see the Sherlock Holmes play so funny.
We saw Vonya & Sonia & Masha & Spike on it's 1st night. What a funny show with great actors and actresses. Hope to be back soon enough to see the next production!
Second performance we caught here. Wonderful way to spend a summer night.
Fun summer theater on the quiet side of My. Desert Island. Professional acting/production in a rustic setting.
We love this theater. The venue is terrific - small and intimate. The plays and actors are great. We come to Acadia once or twice a year, and one of the first things we do is look at what is playing and make plans to attend.
Great Show of Agatha Christie's "Toward Zero"! Love the venue- very small and cozy!
Always on our to do list when we visit the area each summer..Great theater
Saw Kenny Wayne Shepard here. Seats were amazing, sound quality was good. A gem in this town!
Always a delightful experience. Excellent casts and casting; perfect summer theater setting.
Good production of Pygmalion. Didn't know k my socks off but good, great rendition of British accents, drink offerings great. Tea and wine etc., decor is rustic but nice, location ez to find
5-Star Local theater with some well rehearsed actors/actresses and good+ directors. In fact, if you have time to go see the current show "Perfect Wedding" do so (we sat in the 2nd row tonight and the cast did a great+ job, they've obviously practiced+ and so worth it to see them all share their skills).
We saw a play called "UNNECESSARY FARCE" and it was awful. I've seen better high school productions. Now, much of the blame does go to the script (which was lame), but most of the acting was just not very good.
There were two players worth mentioning (in a cast of six), but now I can't find their photos or names on the theatre's web site (one played a Scottish gangster and the other played a security hound).
Hate to pan community theatre, but I've been there and this was sub-par.
