Penmac Staffing Services, Inc. Review

Tried to use them because I just moved to Springfield, the jobs I applied for required some online "clerical" tests to verify I knew how to type and use Microsoft Windows, despite my previous work history, but the tests kept timing out after every couple of questions, then when I would try to log back in the system just kept taking me back to the wrong screen and I couldn't get it to work, so I sent several emails along with a video of what it was doing I received one response after my third email with a new link it did the exact same thing so I sent another video, that was over a week ago and no response, no assistance nothing. Very disappointed, nothing like the Joplin office, they actually try to help people. Now I understand why my previous job only allowed me to use Express when I needed to hire temp help for my crews.

I have never been talk so bad to in my life there the girl Markie was the rudest person I've ever dealt dealt with I came in with the job already because I had worked there before just had to do some paperwork. Told me I left my crap laying around which was popcorn when I went to go do the drug test and P in a cup. Said if it was up to her basically she would hire me for the job. I was polite and kept my cool the whole time because people have to work I hate the fact that because people need jobs she's allowed to be as rude as she wants.

They do not work for their employees they work for their vendors.

This is a great place to go to find a temporary job while looking for permanent employment. They work hard to place people that want to work on assignments to supplement your income. They are caring and do whatever they can to place people in a workplace and help develop skills that can be useful. They even have transportation to get back and forth to your assignments for a reasonable fee. They are a great company. Patti Penny is the owner and she is a super genius!

Was told I couldn't work the same shift at a company because my wife works there and that company has a policy that family members can't work same shift yet they still continue to hire family working same shift there

Worst place to get a job, they told my bf that he had a job at this one site and told him a time so he was there at the time. We'll they told him he needed to be there 2 hours earlier...next day went in didn't have boots so they sent him home told him he would have the job when hecome back...but they told penmac they didn't need him...

Very rude to the point I had to get to speak to someone higher up before finishing testing. Never followed through with the interview I was told they were getting me or any other job offers. The pay is less on most things than fast food and Walmart.

Got me staffed with a job that I love, friendly personnel.

If you do not mind rudeness and low wages it is a fine place to work. Although I would not use their shuttle service for transportation. The vey high cost and very long ride really take a big chunk out of your low wage paycheck.
I would recommend QPS or Express over Penmac without a second thought.

Good thing people need jobs because they're customer service sucks. Marcie is the rudest person I've ever dealt with. The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can't give 0.

Helps most people. Frustrating when business manager has job for you and tells you to go speak with penmac and they don't help with the job.

Wouldnt advise anyone to work for these people unless your desperate for work. The only places they will send you to are jobs that have HIGH turnover rates. And the places they send you to work to get hired is WAY to long a process and you have to show unwavering loyalty to get hired. Temp agencys are a scam around springfield basically legal slavery.

I've never had a good experience here. It's been awhile but I think of these chicks as the worst HR department I've ever seen in my life. Females may have a better chance getting placement here.

Helped me find a job In less than two weeks, very friendly !

Very poor communication from Penmac to the company I worked for. I was never told to track my hours and that the company I was working for would turn them in every Monday. Ultimately, I didn t get paid on time because of their mistakes and miscommunications. This is not a place I would recommend dealing with.

Everytime I call up there for a job, the secretary is very very rude and next time I call I'm going to talk with a supervisor because this isn't the first time. Really need to get a Leach on your employees. Would give you a 5 star but if you had a different secretary it would be different.

A place for 18 yr old apparently, no real high paying or skilled jobs available

Great company if you wanna work with methheads, drug addicts, and felons. There's better companies to work with in this area in my opinion.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They called me as soon as they found an assignment that fit me and it only took a few weeks.

the people working there were really rude when i tried getting a job, they told me to come back whenever i had my forms of identity, i never went back, then they tried contacting my several times for a few days.

no customer service - was with them for 2 weeks, 30 year work resume, but never called for a job - not worth the headache - went to another staffing place and was working within 24 hrs

They do not employ people with pending charges. They have dozens of jobs available, according to the front desk, but when I'm transferred down, they tell me they have no jobs.
I know people convicted of crimes get hired, but not people with pending. It's crazy. So much for innocent until proven guilty.

There no family values with this company at all, they refuse to support family with kids with any form of disability at all! They refuse to work with national crisis pedimic changes by giving any lead way for workers parents having to attend any medical appointments with dr notes period! Criminal who our on probation or parole our given way too much freedom and allowed to maintain there job site but working family trying to support there kids during a national crisis is let go due to medical appointments or the new school routine ! They claim family come first but it s all a lie!

During transitional periods of time when you know you only need a job for about 1 to 2 weeks before you move where you live or you're switching employment options. These guys are mild to ok with offers of jobs at companies that give a darn about you. The MOMENT you suggest long term employment. They throw you to the wolves to be eaten on a cold lonely December night where no one at the companies they send you to want longterm employees.

After seeing what this company does to their employees, I would not hire them to send someone out to change the trash. I am an employer and I would never pay their rates for the way they treat employees. Of all the agencies I have reviewed in Springfield, these people are by far the worst agency. Their employees that I have dealt with and conversed with have shown me why they lose most of the good employees. It is all due to the way they treat them. Companies of this caliber should not even be allowed to keep their doors open. There are a couple of great agencies in Springfield. These folks are NOT one of them.

I have been here numerous times, everyone is very helpful and friendly. They want you working just as much as you want to be working.

Always placing people first. Eager to help if you're willing to help yourself and put the work in.

This place found me a job in my time of need. However, they have no call out line, no apparent communication with the job site. If my job was closed for any reason I would waste 42 miles because I wasn t informed. I was placed at a job making under $10. An hour. When the job let me go due to a medical issue I called Penmac 2 days in a row and never got a return call. This place pays the lowest wages. Onin or Express is higher pay.

I wanted to move home to Springfield Missouri, from Kansas City Missouri after being away for many years. My oldest a dearest friends are all here. I thought it would be a huge challenge to find a position that would support me in Springfield. In a very short time, Penmac paired me with a business who needed someone with my background and I was able to make the move. I feel very grateful, especially now, to be back home with my posse.

Lori in transport is awesome she goes above and beyond her duty as an employee, She is a human and treats others as humans,very nice! If you have a question she'll get to the bottom of it very quickly!

Don't waste your time with this place!!!!!! Waited 40 minutes after my interview and they still wouldn't answer my questions.

The people actually try and get you work. Very helpful and friendly. Free coffee and popcorn too!!! What else could you ask for? =)

There is a but of a wait but they do what they can to fine you a job

If u need a few dollars to get you started MAYBE they can help but I'd recommend you be looking for other places of employment while your dealing with them they are not a permanent solution

The website misrepresents what type of opportunities this company has to offer, and the people running our local office here in town were also rude to me. This place gave me the run around for about 3 weeks, only offering me jobs at or right above minimum wage that didn't fit any of my scheduling needs. I went ahead and decided to part ways with them, and give another employment agency an opportunity.

This company was so helpful to me in my time of need! In particular, Kesha and Lori were just so helpful! Thank you ladies for a job well done!

I went in, filled out the necessary paperwork and completed the computer testing for in both offices (administrative and warehouse). I called every other day for a week, then I was advised that as soon as they had something, they would call me. Afraid that I was becoming a nuisance, I did as instructed. That has been 6 months ago. It's a good thing I did not decide to wait for them to call.

I work for the Transportation Division of Penmac. I love it! They notify me of jobs coming available, what jobs they've submitted me for, and what the jobs entail. I am VERY happy with Penmac Staffing and the ladies who work tirelessly to keep me working.

The worst company I have ever went through, terrible atmosphere. Penmac has such a bad reputation that when you go to a job site you already have a bad rap, they're already looking for any reason to fire you.

Went to the Springfield office and had an older lady doing my interview and I mentioned that I had 6 children and she stopped the interview and asked me why I would have 6 kids. Although its none of her business. Then she told me that they had no jobs for me. Although I know for a fact they did and I had the qualifications required for some of the jobs they had. This woman will discriminate against people so don't let her interview you because you won't get anywhere even if you say you are available for ALL shifts and have the qualificiations you need! This woman needs to be let go of if this how she treats everyone based on her personal opinions. I ended up finding a better job without her help.

They go out of their way to give you great customer service and do everything in their power to help you find a job that suits you have so many jobs that they offer you on a regular basis by voicemail and email penmac is an amazing employment facility

Penmac is the worst temp agency I have ever tryed working for I had received a temp\permanent job placement Friday to start on monday.i figured ok im good show up at my time set and ill make some money for doing work . what I received on Monday when arrived to the job I was placed at was a bunch of questions. Saying I was not on a list to work there nor was penmac sopose to do work for that company till 4to 6 hours later and in any case my name wasn't on the work list. So I said ok ill return to penmac to figure out what is going on bare in mind I live about an hours drive to the nearest penmac. What I was told was no help what so ever I was told from the same person that gave me the work at penmac is quote "I gave them the paperwork and there is still work there" so I asked do I need to go back? Was told quote "will give you a call". All other questions was replaced with the same awnser "will give you a call" i have sat here for 4 hours in the office with name on waiting list to speak with someone name was not called. no resolve nor even an effort to resolve

If you have kids do not apply here at all, if the kids have medical app, surgery that require both of my parents to take off a few hours to deal with family they claim to come first.Sensory therapy, speech therapy , or court order zoom calls in another state , Do not expect them to keep your job threw this company at all. My parents both was fired without notice and informed that they were not telling the truth with medical appointments or school 504 plans with the schools after my sister was hit by a car walking home from school in another state which required them to relocate to another state and was hired on with this company. My parents provide Dr notes , with covid going on this company has refused to allow working parents the flexibility but if you our on probation or parole then your welcome to take off , call in and still have a job the next day and do not require any form of documentation at all. if you file a complaint due not expect to have a job waiting for you about this due not expect a job waiting for you within mins . Family should always come first and with covid things our running different in the community , my father has found work threw another company but my mother is unable due to Sensory therapy ( autism) speech therapy (head trauma), two case workers that comes to the house to work with my sister who was hit by a car. For the record both of my parents was truthful about what they looking for from day one and really did enjoy working for this one job site but do not expect them to work with your family during a national covid 19 crises at all and this company should be held countable to there actions. My parents our hard working in the home and on job sites period they was never late for work period.

My new full time job doesn t start until the 18th. I needed money to carry me over. I m new to Springfield and heard about Penmac from a gentleman at the bus stop. I had a very good experience with this staffing agency! There was an highly animated, energetic guy who assisted me with completing tests, and new hire documents (computer based.) After I completed everything, Justin initially said they didn t really have anything. I expressed my frustration because Penmac had several job ads throughout Indeed, plus a big now hiring sign in front. I felt like they were false advertising. Justin took my concern serious and found me a job that I worked next day. It was a rough job that I certainly can t work every day due to the taxation on my body but a job nonetheless. I received a call the next week from Melissa offering me another plant position. I went in a day after the offer and all of the spots were filled (totally my fault.) I didn t see Melissa but Payton informed me that the positions were filled. Payton found me another job and I started the very next day. If you re like me and need temporary employment for whatever reason, the manufacturing/Industrial department of Penmac can help you.

The office people try to help find jobs but the day shift driver for penmac bus is very rude and won't pick certain people up if it's not convenient for him. Maybe you should find a different driver.

After taking all the tests, completing the computer part in the South Ave. office, I spoke with Kat Stewart, who said my testing scores were amazing she knows she has something for me, would be emailing me that day with job leads and let her know what I would be interested in. I have left her voice mails, emails, messages with the other 2 ladies in the office. I even called her regional operations manager to file a complaint. Not one response or call back to anything or from anyone. Very disrespectful in my opinion. And just bad business.

Penmac has been very professional and helpful. They take the time to handle each person's unique situation. I will continue to use their services.

I have found that when I m looking for a job, I can go to Penmac and start up right away with a temporary job, good Alternative option to do. The people there are always friendly!

A good place to find work if you are male. But if not you have less then 45% of finding a job. I have found a job 2 times the 1st time I went in. My wife if another story. Last time she was told they had a job but she had to have steel toes. She told them she could of used mine. They wanted us to go across town and get them. Before we could start back. They called and told her job was filled. They blow it. One time my wife had been to the doctor he gave her some pills for pain only @15 but when she told them they told her if if came back on test they couldn't work with her. What for taking meds a doc have you.

You may get bounced around for quite a while, but if you stick with it and work, it's a great way to get your foot in the door (especially since most industrial employers don't do anything with applications... they like to test you as a temp first). It can be frustrating, but very worthwhile after all is said and done!
Also, the staff is *always* very helpful. Keep in mind that they don't get paid unless you do.
