I will not come back to peaceful valley. Which is unfortunate because my family and I visit at least once a year during the summer. Its kid & dog friendly, there's no reception there so we get to truly unplug from the city & phones plus it's a family based business which I support 100% since I too run a family based business. But my last experience really was appalling otherwise I wouldn't have spent my time writing this review. We rented a cabin and setup a tent for my young children. No complaints there. The next day we notified the office we had family coming over. The owner's wife said that's fine they must pay to enter. Great. We paid that upfront. No problems there. It was just before dusk when the wife arrived to the cabin & started yelling at my husband in front of my guests, my children & other campsite visitors. FIRST of all, you should approach people with respect. If there is an issue you (wife) must approach your customers, set them aside & TALK to them. Secondly, she mentioned that the tents are not allowed to be setup with cabins. Ok? The tents were setup since the night before with no mention of it not being allowed. There are NO signage anywhere stating this could not be done. She accused us of trying to get over on them since my guests were going to sleep over. We'll again if there was a conversation regarding that then they would have paid to stay over, if they wanted to. There was no mention of time limits for visitors, there was no mention of what would happen if guest were to stay overnight. Bottomline, they failed to ask any followup questions nor notify a paying customer the rules. Usually a campsite will provide a map with rules on the back, Peaceful Valley do not provide a map. Then, my husband tried to talk to the wife & pay a site for our guests but she continued to yell & scream. THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS OR CUSTOMER RELATION ETIQUETTE. Then the husband comes in & says we are to be kicked off the property and threaten us. My guests left by that point & we paid for 3 nights stay upfront. He said because we didn't FOLLOW THE RULES that's why he's kicking off the property. BUT where are those rules? Online. Well that's a big help considering that there's no way of getting any internet connection. Then his response is, it's common sense. Yeah it's common sense to setup a tent when your camping right. It would be common sense for you, your wife & staff to have a proper system in place to ensure your customers are properly aware of whatever the rules. The fault does not fall on paying customers if the owners fail to provide the proper procedures in place plus have some decency. Just because its says you can refuse service to anyone doesn't mean you can threaten a family and do whatever you want. And I have pictures of the receipt & the picture frame stating cabin rules. Nothing there mentions there are more rules online. So customers beware because anything can piss off this family for whatever reason. And Peaceful Valley Campsite please upgrade your services.

My close friends have a site here with their RV. This place is amazing, very peaceful and beautiful. The wildlife are in abundance, we just saw a hummingbird today! I would definitely recommend this campsite.

Beautiful well maintained campground with fabulous grass camp sites by a river with easy access to numerous swimming spots. Very friendly and efficient management. Bathrooms and showers well maintained with nice hot showers. Pick your own spot to pitch you tent in large wide open areas. Perfect spot for adventure motorcycle to stay for a few nights while riding the NE BDR Stage 1 Routes the surround the area to the West, north and East. Highly recommended. I'm looking forward to going back in the fall with some friends.

I am writing in response to Michelle's bad experience in the log cabin! As owners we do whatever we can to make our campers happy..first I will start by saying that the cabins are spotless..the vertical blinds were broken in the living room as people break them. Today I took them down and hung curtains! Wich are much nicer anyway! The handle on the refrigerator was broken from the week before and yes I forgot to tell arnie..so now it is fixed!as for the mouse ..you are camping..I can't help that! There are screens on the windows..not on the sliders or door because they get broke as soon as they get put up!youfailed to mention that you said the a.c. didn't work but you checked in at 4:00 and it was the hottest...humid week this summer..it needed time to cool the place..I gave you an extra fan from the store to use..of course if you open the windows when it's humid the air won't work! We have you a free bucket..(not ring) of wood..then I refunded you 100.00 !!! There is a sign of all the rules hanging in every unit.. it includes saying checkout is at 11.. you failed to mention that you checked out at 230..and that is why you didn't get your 100.00 deposit back..there is a fee for late checkout! You also failed to mention that you even came up to the store after I refunded you your 100.00 to buy the shirts..if it was such a horrible place why on earth would you purchase shirts advertising us??

Years ago they held a bluegrass fest every year. Awesome time. Then the owner died. Then his son took over (Arnie). He's a pos. Went to just camp there under Arnies control and it was horrible. Had to be 15 yrs. ago. Never went back. Music from city campers so loud, bongo drums all night. Had beer bottles being thrown through the woods. Nothing was done. Not many campers spoke English and had no respect whatsoever.

No costumers service, unprofessional, dirty place. Owners very rude, disrespectful to the people. During checking both owners husband and wife were drunk, completely drunk. When you asking simple questions they even couldn t answer, owners wife started screaming hysterically. If you want a good mood and spend time for pleasure this place is not for you. Avoid this campsite!!!!

Stayed here one night with wife and two boys while scouting for a small property to buy. There was a decent price per night posted on the website but when we went to check out they charged us much more. When I pointed this out to the girl at the register she fetched the owner, a burly man who came roaring out in a rage and challenged me to 'settle this outside' when I explained my complaint.

Quiet, picturesque. We rented the Bear den deluxe, nice to have a bathroom with shower. Our parents have a camper there permanently so we can visit in the summer and have our own space. Check in isn't always staffed but they usually leave a walkie talkie to call someone.

The campsite was nice but the bathrooms were dirty and unmaintained. The showers were very complicated and most of the time don't work even though it costs 25 cents for 5 min of shower time. Sometimes the bathrooms sinks don't work . The pool is polluted with paint chips on the floor of the pool. But worst of all is the owner. He is very very rude. If you manage to break one rule even on accident, best believe he will kick you out and threaten you

Wish I had read these reviews, but instead I put myself thru 3 days at this campsite.....arrived late Friday afternoon, checked in, attendee said I have my choice of the BEAR DENS , looked into both units, could not decided which was dirtier, took the lesser of the two evils, both were very dirty. First thing I did was spray all the beds with Lysol and moved the disgusting chair into the corner, next I looked into the supplied refrigerator, disgusting, spilled juice, coffee rings and dirt on top, I cleaned the top and looked under the beds only to find an empty propane container and food wrappers, threw all them out. Noticed there were no curtains, no lock on the screen door, which barely closed. Went over to the closet bathroom, which was about 100 yds away, no big deal, but the bathroom/shower/toilet area were disgustingly dirty(SAME RUBBER GLOVE IN A SINK FOR 3 DAYS). Most toilets were not flushed, which I flushed all them, never took a shower in three days, because they were disgusting, empty shampoo bottles, used towels, etc ..After finding the refrigerator and BEAR DENS so dirty went to talk to the attendant, completely clueless, asked for management to come by, NEVER HEARD FROM THEM IN THE THREE DAYS I WAS THERE!!!!

Other negatives, an AIRPORT, YES AIRPORT, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE ON THE CAMPSITE, SAW MULTIPLE PLANES TAKE OFF AND LAND IN MY THREE DAYS. There were also model airplanes being flown all day, which were nice, but could be dangerous, at the speed they were being flown. Plus to top it off there we individual firework displaces both nights; these were not from the management!!!!!

Also there are no 4 wheelers allowed ACCORDING TO THEIR RULES & REGULATIONS and I saw ATV S running the roads and the grass all day and until 11:00 at night, even saw a young boy on a riding lawnmower driving around the campsite, I know he woke me up twice Friday night, once at 10:00 and the other at 10:30 ..there is a 10mph speed limit, BUT not for the ATV S, some of them were flying around!!!!!

Advertise a swimming pool and since it was over 90 degrees everyday, thought I would jump in after fishing all day, but NO, no water in the pool!!!!

Really wish there were more good things, but NO!!!!! In over 30 years of camping all over our country, this is the WORSE campground I ve stayed in!!!

Over all in a scale from 1-10 and ten being the best I would rate this campground and a -1!!!!!

IF I CAN GIVE THEM 0 STARS I WOULD!!!!!! I STOOD HERE 2 NIGHTS LOOKED AT THEIR WEBSITE AND SETTLED FOR A BEAR DEN DELUXE BECAUSE THEY ALLOWED DOGS HERE. INITIALLY ON THE WEBSITE IT WAS 80 FOR TWO, THEY TRIED CHARGING ME MORE AND WHEN I MENTIONED THE PRICE OF WHAT WAS STATED ON THEIR SITE THEY HONORED THE 80 PER NIGHT. THERE WAS NO FEE FOR THE DOG EITHER. ON THEIR SITE THERE WHERE PICTURES OF WHAT THEY CALL "CABINETTE" UNDER BEAR DEN SO I THOUGHT THE BEAR DEN WOULD COME WITH THE FEATURES THE PICTURES SHOWED. ONCE I CHECKED IN IT WHEN EVEN MORE DOWN HILL. THE BEAR DEN DELUXE DID NOT HAVE A STOVE OR SHOWER, SO I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO UPGRADE FOR THEIR "CABINETTE" THIS CABIN DID HAVE THE STOVE SHOWER AND FRIDGE. I HAD TO PAY ABOUT 120.00 DOLLARS MORE FROM THE INITIAL RAT FOR "BEAR DEN" . THEY KNEW I HAD A DOG AND WHEN I CHECKED OUT THEY CHARGED ME AN ADDITIONAL 50.00 SO IN TOTAL I PAID ABOUT 300 BUCKS MAYBE MORE BECAUSE OF THE HIGH RATED TAXES. I FOUND OUT THEY CHARGED ME WATCHING MY GRANDMOTHER AND FATHER SICK IN A HOSPITAL BED! STRESSED IS NOT EVEN THE WORD RIGHT NOW. I CALLED THE CAMPGROUNDS AND THEY TOLD ME I DIDN'T TELL THEM I HAD THE DOG GOING TO THE CABINETTE AND THAT THERE WAS A FEE POSTED ON THEIR PAGE!? WHEN I WENT TO SEE IF THAT WAS TRUE THE WHOLE WEBSITE IS CHANGED !!!!!!!! AND IT NO MENTIONED A 25 DOLLAR DOG FEE! WHEN I CALLED THEM BACK THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY THEY DIDN'T KNOW I WAS CHECKING IN WITH MY DOG!!! AND THAT 25 IS FOR DOG AND 25 IS FOR CLEANING FEE WHICH IS NOT MENTIONED ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!! NO RECEIPT NO CONTRACT NO CONFIRMATION EMAILS NO MAP NO NOTHING THESE PEOPLE ARE STRAIGHT UP SCAMS TO MAKE A BUCK!!!!!

This Michelle woman was an outrage she is never welcome back. The owners gave them free wood, and the refrigerator was not broken the handle was. They do not advertise air conditioning or direct tv, that is considered a convenience. These people walked into the store and yelled at the owner like they owned the place. they said they were going to disturb the whole campground and they wouldn't leave. The owners gave them back a lot of money anyways, so big whoopdidoo they didn't get their deposits back. As they were leaving they said she you in court $&@!?$&. This campground is beautiful and I want to be here for the rest of my life. And really a mouse, your lucky it wasn't a raccoon your camping

Don t even bother wasting your time they tried to charge me $90 just to visit my family for a few hours. They tried to nickel and dime me the lady running the desk was very rude and had no idea what she was doing. Had to drive 45 minutes back home because I refused to pay that much do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They don t deserve any star.

Stayed here last May on our way back home to VT after two weeks on the road. Requested a Bear Den since they had sounded so fine on the website.

After finally finding someone to pay we made our way to the two Bear Dens. Chose the least smelly one and proceeded to clean and cover things so we could at least crash on the bed during the incoming storm. What a pigsty!!

And then there was the bathroom.....filthy and disgusting.

Should have left before we even paid ~ when a man finally tracked down a very grumpy woman to wait on us!!

Thankful for the river view but would never return to Peaceful Valley Campgrounds.

I've been going to Peaceful Valley several times a Season for 5 years now. To the people with the negative comments, you obviously need to be more "open minded", it's a campground, not a 5 star resort, what do you expect? Peaceful Valley is my happy place! It's the cheapest getaway for the working class. It's 15 bucks a person, per night to camp, you can't beat that! And it's an amazing location! It's literally situated between 2 mountains, hence the name Peaceful VALLEY. And it's right on the East Branch of the Delaware River, which is perfect for tubing, boating or fishing. And someone mentioned an airport... It's NOT an airport, the owner of the campground has an airplane, he also owns the valley, where he can fly his plane in and out of his valley. It's a little 2 seater plane, not a jet airliner, so not super loud. And to the other angry reviewers, again, it's a campground, not a Marriott. Oh and side note, that "Big burly guy", his name is Arnie, the owner of the campground, and he's a really cool/nice guy. And the ladies are his fiance' and her daughters, which are also all super sweet. So if you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you! And one final thought, they also have a woman from town come every day to clean the restrooms now, they didn't used to.

Peaceful Valley was such a great get away after being quaratined all spring! We stayed in the Cabinettes along the pond and were so impressed with how clean they were. I always check the bathroom and fridge to get a sense of whether a place has been cleaned thoroughly and they were both spotless! The kids fished in the pond and waded in the river. It poured rain one day, but we still had a great time! We hiked the mountain that was only a minute walk from where we were staying. It was private and quiet. We didn't get cell service, but we were able to use the phone in the front office to call home. The only complaint, which no one can control, was the sound of the frogs throughout the night and the wasps that found their way into our cabin. Next time, we will bring a box fan so we can shut the windows at night, but if you love the sounds of nature, you won't mind! Can't wait until our next visit!
