Just returned last week from family vacation at Paws Up. It was a great trip for all of us. Since I am a rider, I would like to commend Jackie K. and her wranglers, especially Christie, Levi, and Sarah. They were courteous, friendly and knowledgeable and did their best to mount me on good horses. They have the right sized horse for any and all. Their horses are gentle and well cared for. Hope we come back again next year. No matter what you like to do in the great outdoors, this is the place to go!!!

Was driving on highway 200 and a paws up driver was attempting to pass on the opposite side coming towards us as 3 other cars were behind us...as it got closer the driver refused to pull back in his lane and we had to slam the breaks and swerve off the side of the road to avoid a collision...hoping he was not driving any guests

My wife and I went to Paws Up to celebrate an anniversary and birthday and we had an absolutely AMAZING TIME!! We stayed at River Camp in the glamming tents and participated in the Master Chef weekend. Everything was impeccable! Food was amazing, service was top notch, and the excursions I will never forget. Highly recommend Paws Up to those who want to get away from it all and experience something new. Just got home and already looking forward to our next trip back!

We had a great time. Highly recommend the camps - the food was tremendous, as were the staff. We stayed Creekside. Loved every person who was part of the team - Seanna and August were primary but we also had great care from every other employee who assisted. Charles is an incredible chef at Creekside - really a great experience to have the personalization of a chef cooking for a small group each morning and night at the camp. Overall, a great trip -- excellent mix of fun outdoor activities, as well as fine dining and top end service. Didn't spend a second indoors between 8 am - 9 pm each night.

Five Stars!??!?!??!?! If twenty more were possible, maybe.

Came with a group that spent many many many thousands of dollars trying to make sure every detail aligned with the level of quality and excellence we have come to expect out of a company we basically created.

Quite simply, Paws- Up is decent because its in Montana. Period. Montana's beauty carries the weight of its "five-stars," NOT the cost to value ration or how the resort conducts business.

From what I observed, Management and planning staff is all but imaginary. Someone in the ranks hired about 1/4 of the staff they need to make this a functioning luxury resort. After a day or two of learning how hard the support staff works given the VERY OBVIOUSLY unorganized leaders they must take orders from, my general observation is that the drivers, activities people, funny bartenders, waitstaff and "retail therapists" could run the show better than anyone doing it now. They already seem to be, albeit about 150 employees shy of being fully staffed.

For a resort that has its proverbial bootstraps being held up by "service people," it is highly insulting to someone like me who recognizes hard work but then not able to leave a much DESERVED gratuity. Guests of the resort are not even given the option of leaving a gratuity on credit card slips. A resort that barely passes for 3 stars (at best) should give its employees all the chances they can get to be rewarded for exemplary service. Shame on the arrogant and clearly clueless owners of this ranch.

Its a mind bending place, Paw's Up. The Montana standards are perhaps not the standards the rest of the outside world goes by.

2 stars.

Place should be called Hold Up ; It is way overpriced and certainly over rated for what it was. Be careful, here folks. The prices they post online are about 60% of what you ll end up paying. There s taxes, of course, then a 20% guest services fee or a resort fee they tell you on the phone that the 20% mandatory up-charge is for tips. But wait, there s more. If you want to take an hour horseback ride, that ll be $200. ATV ride? Bend over buddy: that s another $350 or so. Wine at lunch? $22 bucks/glass. Wanna shoot a .22 cal rifle? That ll be another $150 partner. The staff is young, attentive, and very well-intentioned, but not well trained. The college kids are running the place and the owners are counting their money. Our walking guide got lost on the trails and a raft guide (who d started the week prior) flipped the raft and put both guests lives in danger. It was touch and go there for a few minutes, but they both made it to shore. The river guide stayed with the boat, and then flipped it again. Rescue came in the form of his more experienced boss who had the sense to take the three kids under 10 in his boat. The two raft flotilla suffered no fatalities. Had that more experienced guide not taken those small kids in his raft, there was a high level of certainty the kids wouldn t have left the river breathing. The raft guide was scared silly and his first stop once ashore was to a laundromat to rinse his shorts. Want the Montana glamping experience? Set up a tent in your living room and order out. Seriously, keep your money in your pocket. But you want to know something? Regardless of cost, the place is booked solid all summer. Good luck to all future Hold Up guests. I ll not darken their door again. Seriously, $16 THOUSAND dollars for a tent in the woods with a busted hammock dangling outside and these folks have the balls to charge $22 for a glass of wine at lunch? Money 101: Just cuz you re wealthy doesn t mean you should waste it on a place like this. Paws Up? Screw that. Go Wheels Up somewhere else.

My friend and I were at the resort for Kate McDermott's art of the pie. It was wonderful and Paws Up has thought of everything. Upon checking in, we didn't drive at all as they have a car service available to deliver you anywhere on the ranch. The food was marvelous. Would recommend it highly!

I live near paws up, and I saw some negative reviews, some referring the service to Montana. Well let me put it this way, this is not the Montana standard. Also the owners and most of the management are not from here. They are from big cities like Vegas. And they dont prefer to hire locals. They look for college kids from out of state. I know a lot of former employees. Things used to not be this way. Only in the last 5 years or so.

Stayed here July 2020. The resort admitted they had major Covid "problems and a whole department was affected" (their words). We tried to reach the concierge desk via phone and email 6 times before arrival and never got a response. Asked to see a manager upon a arrival to see if we were safe - and they would not even attempt call us. What's worse is they had told the staff at our camp (RiverCamp) that we were disgruntled. The bartender told us that's why he wasn't uncharging us for premium drinks. Nice of them to tell the staff that. Staff from corporate office (accounting and purchasing) brought in to be drivers , but then they panicked and called us at 10pm the night before our arrival and said there would be a car for us at airport and admitted they didn't have enough people to drive and that they were afraid to drive the guests. Setting was great. the food was great at River Camp. But the strive and real dishonesty about their covid issues are real. I am willing to risk writing this, because can attach names to the staff that told us what was going on. Lobby was dirty and dark. cabins were not well cleaned each day. You'd be better off (safer) not letting the cleaning crew in each day. PU was recommended to us by other families we know. They would have been embarrassed to see how half-baked it was. We ran into another family in Seeley Lake that saw us in a paws up car and asked about the experience. We told them how bad it was and they said their reservation experience was so bad and unprofessional that they got cold feet and went elsewhere. For the money, it was substandard. Front office a joke. We would not have posted this in a forum, but any reuqested communication from a manager was denied. I my opinion, think they are hiding from it for legal purposes. What else could it be. But their staff was happy to admit they were short staffed by covid or the affects of covid. Not even 3 star service. Beware. Or more importantly, Be careful. Don't believe me? If you are there right now, go look at the window-sill in the main lobby check-in....near the pool table...hundreds of dead lady bugs and beetles just sitting there.

My husband and I, along with our two young sons (7 and 10) just checked of Paws Up. What an awesome place! Montana is one of the most beautiful places we have visited. Paws up is amazing!! We stayed in the glamping tents along the river and it was such a great experience. Very peaceful and so comfortable. Our butlers, Kasey, Damon, Savannah and Maddie were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our breakfasts and dinners at our camp were also excellent. As far as activities go, we did go-kart riding, horseback riding, rafting and canoeing. Rafting was probably the best, level 2, so really fun but not dangerous...perfect for our kids ages. We would definitely come again!!!

Fantastic experience. The ranch is huge and has many activities to keep you occupied, of course you can just enjoy the cabins and remain by the fire. The restaurant is equally amazing, chef Ben Jones does a great job consistently turning out a varied menu of high quality cuisine mixed with local products. Two thumbs up.

We had a wonderful experience at the resort. Drove up from Missoula for Sunday brunch and loved it. The weather was spectacular but nothing compared to the view and excellent service. The entire staff made us feel incredibly welcomed. We will be back!

Outstanding full bar, backed up by an outstanding kitchen. Sunday brunch is expensive, but non-guests (considered locals) get a 20 percent discount. This is a dude ranch for folks with big bucks. So, be informed. Oh... Their gift shop is to die for. Quality clothing and accessories with fat price tags. Bottom line: top quality with pampering.

I'm leaving here tomorrow and surely wished I would have stayed longer. I must say that this was a trip to be remembered. You have to live in the moment. That's what Bob reminded me of ( one of our drivers) That's what paws up allows families to do. There is something about this place that makes you feel closer to God. The scenery, the magnificent beasts, the tip notch accommodations and service. A place to unwind and do as little or as much as you want. We cant wait to come.back. the food is glorious and so is the staff here!!

An absolutely beautiful spot tucked in the Montana wilderness. The resort offers many amenities like horseback riding, glamping, dining, an inn, kids activities, a river to play on and in, and more that I'm sure I've overlooked! The views are outstanding. The staff is professional and friendly too. A great spot for a romantic weekend or a family vacation.

The activities were awesome, special thanks to Tyler, who made paintball and ax throwing extra fun for my boys. The property is absolutely beautiful. Paws Up is an incredible adventure. My husband, son and I spent 4 days there during the Montana Master Chef cook off 2 weeks ago. We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and my husband's 70th birthday. For his birthday he was able to check off one of his bucket list adventures which was a cattle drive. He also learned a little about fly fishing and our son caught the fish in this photo. All the staff was incredible. I had a great time at the cook-off and walked away with the winning bid for Chef Grueneberg's dinner for two in her Chicago Restaurant all to benefit the local food pantry. Crystal Bowersox music and some of my favorite wines not to mention the food all contributed to a good time had by all. Thank you Nadine and Nicole and all the staff.

Truly blown away by our stay at Paws Up. We were there for a wedding and the entire staff continually went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and felt comfortable! They even went so far as to run to Target for members of our group and pick up a few items they had forgotten to pack. I ve never experienced such customer service from not one, but each and every one of the staff members with which we interacted. Not only where they helpful and highly accommodating but they seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs! This in my mind really speaks to the quality of management and how they treat their employees and in turn, how they treat their customers. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Note to readers: If not staying at the resort, be sure to call and make sure the restaurants are open.

While I have lived in Missoula since 1995, this was the first time I have visited Paws Up. We had friends visiting from out of town so we thought we would check it out.

We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon around 1 p.m. Our friends were arriving a little later so we went to the lounge portion of The Trough called Tank.

The menu was small but very adequate. I had the chicken sandwich with onion rings and my wife had the burger with foie gras. Our friends had salads, that included shrimp. It was probably the most most tender, tastiest chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. All dishes were prepared beautifully and were absolutely delicious!

I definitely recommend this restaurant for its beauty, food quality, and fantastic service.

This is one of the best trips my husband and I have ever been to. The resort is beautiful and there were a lot of activities to do. We did the skeet shooting, dog sledding, hatchet throwing, shot guns at the range, and horseback riding! The scenery around the property is awesome. We stayed at Thomas Jefferson cabin and the cabin is beautiful, huge and cozy with a big fireplace and a full kitchen. The bathroom has heated floors and heated towel racks. The cabin also has an outdoor hot tub. The most amazing part is the service of the staff. They took care of us very well. Our drivers, Julie and Corbet were the friendliest and the most accommodating. The restaurant and bar served delicious food and a full bar and all servers were very attentive and nice. Becca was our guide for horseback riding and she was awesome and made us apple cider after our trail ride. The guys at the shooting range were so nice and helpful and made everything very fun! The dog sledding staff were so experienced and friendly and it was our favorite activity we did at the resort. We did not want to leave!!! :-) we d love to come back!

We booked this trip to Paws Up Very last minute (the day before we arrived) Let me start by saying Montana is a beautiful, special place. Paws Up well exceeded our expectations from the very start to the end. Clay and Julie picked us up and really set the tone for the trip with their warm and friendly attitudes. Our camp butlers Brittany, Hannah and August were absolutely amazing and made our trip even better. We did ATV, horse back rides, massages, float down the river, fly fishing, fat bikes and archery! Everything was just perfect and I would recommend ever one of those activities. We stayed in rent 5 at river camp and it was out of a fairy tail the river lulled us to sleep every night. I bought some cowboy boots from the wilderness outpost and could spend the day just walking around the store it s got everything!! This resort is top notch and I would highly recommend it to anyone especially those with kids looking for a great outdoor adventure with the family! We will be back soon!! -Summer and Joey.
