Tagliatelle bolognese was just OK. Service and ambience were really good.
Get some chowder and some homemade pasta and this place will immediately become one of your go-to spots in HMB. This is a great place to get a bite after a stroll down Main St.
Amazing Italian restaurant hidden in Half Moon Bay. This place started as a small restaurant in a large building but slowly took over the entire building. I've been lucky enough to be coming to this restaurant for almost a decade and have never had a bad meal. I highly suggest the lasagna, it doesn't sound like it would be impressive but it truly is.
Fresh ingredients, lovely atmosphere and to die for desserts. A favorite in Half Moon Bay!
Great pasta, good service, quiet (no background music), lovely dinner. Wine was reasonably priced.
Elegant, great food great wine list. Great date night
I always appreciate a restaurant that doesn't try to over do their pasta. Their house made pasta was perfect, and the sauce wasn't too thin that it made the pasta soggy. The service was excellent. We also got a salad and pizza. The pizza feeds one, its a nice thin crusted Neapolitan style.
Over paid, under value, waitress was snobby & aloof. Never again.
Great spot out at Half Moon. Service was genuine, food was great, dessert was amazing. Had their version of the Negroni which was great as well
My wife and I came here the night before Thanksgiving. The place was busy but they still had room. The atmosphere is really cozy and romantic, staff are pleasant and helpful, and the food is amazing. Both of our dishes were perfect, the only downside being the price. If it was cheaper I'd probably come here more often but this is a great place to go for a special occasion or a nice night out.
The only time I have had food made like this was in Tuscany. In the first bite, you know you are experiencing the love and pride of it's maker. It just doesn't get better than this.....
Simple menu, delicious food and drinks. Crispy cheese pizza and just-right pasta.
Excellent dinner and experience. Stopped by on our way through town. Snagged a reservation online and was Sat immediately. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. Very large interior space with plenty of seating. Private party room in the back. Windowed work space to watch the pastry chef work. My only knock is they have two private restrooms so line can back up quickly. Can't wait to try again next time we're in town!
Great food and service. Loved their homemade ravioli.
Food was perfection, service was stellar. Will be back!
We love the freshness of all the ingredients used in the food. Their food and drinks are continuously delicious.
Omg!!!! Food was spectacular!!! Excellent bar tender, super service.
The nicest waitress ever. Good food, good experience.
Great comfort food. Probably other options as well, but I can't get past the lasagna.... it's delish.
Food is great, but utensils and dishes are not clean..
I have been eating here for years! It is consistently good with excellent food beautiful atmosphere and welcoming staff members. It always feels like going home for dinner!
New location is stunning! Some menu updates, but all our favorite dishes still available.
SERVES FAR MORE THAN JUST PASTA DISHES!!
This place always seems to be running at full capacity...which goes to show how good it must be! My parents always take me here when I come to visit and I have yet to be disappointed. The service is wonderful, and the staff are very friendly, professional, and happy to help. The food is beautifully prepared. Portion sizes are perfect, and every dish I have tried ha been absolutely gorgeous.
The muscles are amazing (and I am quite fussy about muscles)
Went on a Friday evening around 5:30 and could easily get a seat. Chose the bar, where bartenders Maynor and Petra made us amazing cocktails and provided wonderful/friendly service. The mussels appetizer is fabulous and easily serves two. The clam chowder with pancetta is buttery smooth and so flavorful! Beautiful decor throughout the restaurant and clean, handicapped accessible restrooms. Too full for dessert, but plan to go again soon!
Great food and service. Lots of seating. I like the private room in the back. We had a table for 15 set up for a special event.
One of the very best Italian restaurants in the entire bay area, period. Great selection of handmade pasta + pizza on the menu. Their clam chowder is must try too.
New location is WONDERFUL! Warm and inviting. Wait and hostess staff was incredibly attentive while also being personable and creating a relaxed feeling. Food was, as akways, delicious with perfect presentation.
Best gourmet thin crust pizza on the western coast of the United States. Some of the finest pasta dishes are here. The pasta is so thin it only has one side. Got to try it and soon they'll be moving to their new location in town down the street. Ask for Kim or Charles tell them that David sent you
Shows up on weekend day at 5:30pm, no problem at all getting a table, the place is really large. However when we left around 7pm there was a small line.
Excellent italian food. Wine list has some okay choices, rather expensive.
Salmon was delicious! Excellent service and cozy atmosphere
The pasta was good, everything else was sub par, greasy and over priced.
They added automatic 15% tip to to go orders.
Slow service, 30 to 45 in between dishes. Food was good though.
We were looking for a healthy pasta faire and were disappointed. For those who eat biblically kosher like ourselves there are only a couple of options. Very pricey, but I suppose you pay for the area. Good location across from the Zaballa house on main st.
Excellent service, close to the beach with pretty atmosphere. While the pizza was good, it was the pasta that blew minds here.
Great food and service. Terrific scallops and house made pasta.
had dinner there a couple days ago, staff was polite, was seated almost immediately, and had one of the best steaks I can remember eating in a long time.
(The wine was awful, but I don't blame the restaurant and to their credit they addressed the problem quickly)
Great homemade pasta, lots of local produce is served at the restaurant and it is very conveniently located. One of the best places in HMB
Everything is made with love. Fresh pasta to the desserts! Love it
This is a really nice place, food and service were amazing. Desserts were out of this world. I would definitely go back to this place
My family enjoy the seafood dishes they offer. It's very tasty and the environment is cozy.
Pasta was ok. Not amazing. But was surely very busy. Very nice ambience!
Stop in and enjoy the wonderful food. A little expensive.
Good for large groups with great service. However, while the past was cooked correctly, the sauce was bland. The butterscotch pudding dessert was way too thick and heavy for mother's day lunch.
I come here whenever I visit Half Moon Bay because it's just one of the best pasta restaurants in the Bay Area. You can't go wrong with any of their homemade pastas, but I particularly like the spaghetti puttanesca. My only wish would be to see their winelist include California wine rather than being strictly Italian.
There was no wait time when my friend and I went here for lunch on labor day. The butternut squash and brown sugar ravioli entree was excellent - beware of the calamari appetizer though! The appetizer dish has hardly any calamari....most of it is fried onions, olives, and lemons. My friend told me that it couldn't possibly be fried lemons and that it must be a squash, so I should try it. Nope ..... definitely fried lemon. Joke was on me! :) But, otherwise the entrees seem great and it seems like a family friendly place with generally good food and short wait times
Great service, and food that is worth the price! The vegetarian options - while not abundant, are splendid in quality and quantity (per serving). Really a great experience, in a fun atmosphere, with attentive staff.
I can t figure out the hype on his place. It looks like multiple businesses were combined in to one restaurant over many years and it shows. The restaurant is totally disjointed and the thing that really irks me is that they only have two toilets for a few hundred people so there is always a wait for the bathroom.
I found the food to be typical Americanized Italian. There isn t anything special about it at all which is unfortunate since I had high hopes for this place. I d say It s Italia has a better ambiance and the food is about the same as Pasta Moon.
pretty good every day pasta. shop the main st and sit for a pleasant relaxing lunch.
Delicious and fantastic service. We enjoyed a wonderful anniversary celebration dinner. My husband had the lemon chicken and I had the lobster linguine, both dishes were fantastic. Service was amazing. Great experience!
Just ate there less than an hour ago. How is my credit card tied into my phone?
Great ingredients and great food. Everything was super delicious!
Came here with my girlfriend. We're both not from around here and we really surprised when walked in. Romantic scenery , needless to say we were under dressed but loved it. Next time coming dressed for the occasion. Sausage pizza was tasty.
The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, with lovely staff. We ate the lasagna at the recommendation of the waiter, and it was good but I wish I had ordered something else because it wasn't the best I've had. The wine is reasonably priced, but there is not a large list. Overall, the atmosphere was amazing and I would definitely come back to give their food another try.
The food is completely overpriced, the service clears away already during the consumption of the food, it is completely covered tips requested (18%) and also another service package for more than 6 people of again 18% .. The cesar salad is an absolute Joke, the pizza is thin and the edge partially charred, once and never again !!
We had a very nice meal here, fairly authentic and homey.
Fantastic food and ambiance but our server was nowhere to be found. We had to send a bus boy for him twice and he still has took several minutes to get to our table.
Very courteous and friendly staff. Hostess was welcoming and accommodating. Waitress was knowledgeable of menu items. Service deserves all accolades. Food however was not worth the money. Almost thirty dollars for a salad is excessive. Had the scallops salad which was underwhelming. It comes with a handful of Costco bought spinach, five small scallops and a few pieces of mangoes. The scallops were cooked perfectly but overall the dish was not worth the price at all. Pizza was not great. Not sure why many other comments applaud it. Not a bad restaurant but would not recommend it nor return to.
Cozy place, with good service and food. The Lamb T-bone (special) was delicious.
Food is always great. Large restaurant with plenty of space between tables so no covid worries there. One of my favorite restaurants. Please go, I don't want to lose them.
Exquisite! The wild mushroom risotto with seared scallops was truly memorable.
Everything we tried was delicious. Seasonal peach and goat cheese salad was a highlight. They have GF pasta too.
Good location, not too crowded, solid Italian food. I like that I can drop anytime and satisfy all my carb-cravings. My favs are the bolognese and lasagna. Yummm.
The food looks five star but the taste is two star and price is six star. I've been there a total of five times, only once was the food worth the price. The atmosphere and service are probably why it seems to be busy. I wish the chef would have others sample his own dishes and use other ingredients and spices to enhance the flavor, not overwhelm it.
I've always loved going to Pasta Moon. Their pasta has been consistently awesome over the last three years and I love their seasonal specials too. Yesterday, we had some fresh fava beans and English peas that were hands down the freshest I've ever had. Totally recommend.
We were excited to try this place out while in HMB for the day based on the reviews. The space looked cool and inviting and we decided to sit at the bar. The first thing we noticed was that they have office furniture for their bar and table seats. We thought that was odd but didn't think much of it. Then we asked the first bar tender what she recommended on the menu. She didn't know what was good. So we asked the other bar tender and he had some good opinions. We went with the lasagna and a special that was guinea hen. Took an hour for our meals to arrive. The Lasagna tasted like Stouffer's and the hen was overcooked and the skin was rubbery and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from a mix. All in all just not a lot of thought or care goes into what they do here from the ambiance, to the service, to the food. Hands down the worst food we've had on the Peninsula in a long long time. We won't be returning and definitely won't be recommending it to anyone.
This is one of the best spots in Half Moon Bay. We've been coming to Pasta Moon for over 20 years. The restaurant started as a little hole in the wall, and throughout the years has expended to a beautiful full blown restaurant. Here is the amazing part. The food and service has not suffered...I have been managing restaurants for 20 years and I know how hard it is to maintain the quality of food and service that Pasta Moon dishes out , it is admirable!!! Do yourself a favor, bring someone you love for a delicious meal and a great time!
Great food, great service. A bit slow but to be fair, we were a large group.
Great atmosphere and food. Beautiful decor and perfect location. One of the best in the coast of California.
I just liked their food. I always get fantastic service there. The place is always clean and the staff members are always very friendly. Will come back again.
We came here for Saturday lunch.. We had a friendly waitress, but the bus staff was a different story.
The bus staff ignored our table and when we finally got attention, and asked for more bread, we were told that there wasn't anymore bread. Strange response at an upscale restaurant. After we got our entrees, no one checked with us about our food, no one in sight for a little more water. We spent a good amount on our lunch there, and I would have expected better service at a better restaurant. Disappointing.
