Great experience, just a tip I learned from being with my younger family; if under 21 dont sit at the bar.
But wonderful food and drinks.

Food was EXCELLENT! Service, though, was a bit in the slow side in the put-back patio
The best Italian in Half Moon Bay! The lasagna is legendary! The staff is also very friendly!
Absolutely loved the food. The Pappardelle Pancetta was amazing and one of the best vegetarian pastas I've had. The eggplant parmesan was also really good.
Very good ravioli. A bit pricey but worth it. The wine and beer selections are good too.
We love this place. We have been back several times when we are in the area. The food is superbly prepared and are amazing. All dishes are good and reasonable price. We always have a satisfied meal here. Highly recommended.
Wow. Everything we tried was amazing. I can't decide what was better drink, dinner, dessert all top notch
Good service, great environment. Wife has a good gluten free pizza, but my grilled chicken salad was far from worth the price of $18. The chicken tasted precooked and packaged and the salad overall was nothing special. I'd pay $6 for a similar quality at Vons.
Half Moon Bay is the place to go. The restaurant is large so you do not have to make a reservation, but if you make a reservation, you will get a better seat. Staff is friendly, food is delicious, too.
My husband and I stopped in the other day on a random trip to Half Moon Bay. Wherever we go if butternut squash pasta is on the menu I order it; the butternut squash ravioli here is the BEST I've had, by far! Kudos to the chef! We'll be back again soon
Overpriced for what you get. $15 for two slices of brochette
Beautiful restaurant serving rustic Italian cuisine. The pasta does not disappoint. Great venue for small-medium private dinners with separate rooms that help contain noise for other patrons. Attentive and accommodating staff.
Hand made pasta! Great service. New venue. Try the parpadelle
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Hard not to stuff yourself. The portions are a fair size. Service is fantastic. Atmosphere was easy going and pleasant! Plenty to code from on the menu but not overwhelming.
Ok food little trendy for the price. Limited selection. Bar was ok
We have visited the Pasta Moon in one of those Xmas. This was a return for lunch. It was a fairly full house for this quiet town. We managed to walk in.
I had a sauvignon blanc for a start. My wife and I shared a shrimp avocado pizza. The seabass we had was somehow undercooked -it became a sashimi in the middle! This deducted one star.
I showed up right after closing. Steve the owner still hooked me up on some Lasagna to go and a drink at the bar. So nice and accommodating!!! Can't wait to go there again!
We love this place for the food, atmosphere, and service. Top notch on all levels. Definitely make a reservation before trying this place out, it gets packed!
Great food and nice comfy interior. Especially nice for lunch on weekdays since it isn't busy.
The food was amazing. Lots of fresh, local produce. The sauce enhanced the flavor without overwhelming the food. Fried Zucchini blossoms -- light and delicious. Entrees done to perfection. The service was outstanding. Kudos to all who made my evening there such a huge success!
Awesome service! I lost my phone and the hostess delivered it to our hotel. Food was awesome!
Very nice place for a tasty Italian meal. A bit pricey for what it is, and wouldn't go out of my way to find it, but if you're in Half Moon Bay it's a good choice.
They have moved since the picture attached to this . Location, service and food AWESOME!
Probably one of the best eating experiences I've had in a long time. The decoration with candles and the live piano background music was the perfect combination for their delicious dishes. From their bread with olive oil, to their pasta and pizzas, to their desserts, I would totally recommend checking out this place, you won't regret it! :)
Soup was fine at best. My boyfriend's Lobster Linguini was plain and not worth the price. However the Butternut Squash Raviolis were a pleasant surprise. The staff was nice and prompt and atmosphere was delightful. However I would not go back for authentic, flavorful, Italian food.
Great home made pastas in a fun atmosphere. We were there for a wedding party (this place is deceptively large) yet got amazingly good service.
Excellent pasta dishes and pizza with very good service
I had a mixed experience last time I came with my wife.
Order took forever to come (they came twice to apologize) and when it arrived one of the plates was wrong. Mistake happens, and they did the right thing to fix it; they paid for the second one. I was a bit disappointed by the raviolis though - a bit on the greasy side, and not warm enough; but my wife loved her pastas (of course, she was starving when they arrived :).
This place has figured out how to be great while dealing with this pandemic. Very clean and accommodating. The food is delicious and their staff are professional.
Really good Italian food. I had the gnocchi special and i know gnocchi can be hit or miss but it was definitely a hit
Awesome Food and Service! The NEW location is wonderful!
One of the best Italian places in the bay area I think, not going to compete with the east coast but very good!
The beginning of the meal started well and the wait staff were attentive but once the meal came out everything went downhill. No more visits to fill water, no inquiry as to how our meal was prepared and the food was delivered to the wrong people. The meal prices were decent but the food was forgettable and that is troubling for an Italian restaurant.
Food was amazing and waitstaff was friendly. Service was slow, but worth the wait.
We had a small intimate reception for our wedding in May at Pasta Moon. Could not have been happier with the results! From the staff congratulating us upon our entry, to the attentive, but not overly, waitstaff. The food was excellent! We rented the large room and it turned out to be perfect for our small reception. The table was set beautifully and Donna made a menu that matched our invitations which were placed at each setting. Just a wonderful day to remember. Thank you to the staff of Pasta Moon!
Food and service is good. The chef had a few unique offerings.
Wonderful fresh made Italian! ... And you pay for it too.
Good food, but 1 star off for very overpriced. For example: Caesar salad, lasagna, pizza, and one drink ran $82 without tip.
They offer a fantastic variety of delicious food. I loved dining here. Staff members are always very kind, rates are affordable and the place is always neat.
It was pricey, but the food was GREAT! I enjoyed the ambiance and the employees.
I ve been dining at Pasta Moon and Half Moon Bay California for over 20 years and was concerned with what disruptions to service and food moving to a new location on Main Street may cause.
My fears were laid to rest when we celebrated a close friends birthday it s their new location. The food was better than ever and the service was a step above any of my previous visits.
Both front of the house and back of the house have quickly grown into the new location and surpassed all of my expectations - The new space is comfortable and inviting, The restaurant was very busy and we were able to have quite discussions without any difficulty.
I can strongly recommend making Pasta Moon a destination for your next visit to Half Moon Bay.
We had 5:45 reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. We were seated promptly outdoor under a lovely olive tree. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. The waiter didn't take our order until half an hour later, it was fixed menu so we already knew what we wanted. The ratatouille soup was good. But my son found an unusually large stem in his short ribs. 2 tables nearby turned over faster than our dinner arrival. After 2 1/2 hours we were done waiting and took our dessert home. We spent alot of money for this dinner so it's sad that evening was such a disappointment.
Great food, lots of art, has kids menu. Long wait to get in if you don't have reservations.
Food was delicious!
But the first reason we even ate there is I asked my daughter to ask if they had a kid's menu and she came back with one so I could see if there was anything my 6-year-old son would eat. They had several options so the next question for my daughter was if the person who helped her was friendly, and she said yes so that sealed the deal.
It's a fancy place but the dishes start around $20-$25, which was great. It was my daughter's 10th Birthday Bash so I wanted to splurge a bit, but nothing excessive.
We got a nice outside table and they put paper on it so the kids could color on it, which was neat. It's awesome a place like this knows how to treat kids!
The bread with oil and vinegar was fun. My kids had never experienced that.
Then the entrees came and wow!
The pepperoni pizza had the lightest, thinnest, crispiest crust you'll ever see! It's insane how light and crispy it was, especially around the edges which normally would be the part I don't like but this was almost like a tortilla chip.
And then the pasta dishes were superb, and My Munchkins even liked a bite of the scallops, so that was cool.
The sorbetto was good, too.
I definitely will be coming back!
We were so impressed with Pasta Moon last night, Thanksgiving. The food is amazing! The space, indoors and outside, are very classy and romantic. Diego was an awesome server. Will definitely return!
The food was amazing, not long of a wait (but was served drinks while we waited), wonderful staff and owner! I drop 1 star because it seemed like they were zapping some1 in the basement with the lights dimming.
Nice gathering place. Great service. Had a company group meeting. Very nice.
Delicious food and great service, in a beautiful location. My favorite restaurant in Half Moon Bay.
Hands down one of the best Italian/seafood restaurant in the bay area!
Lauren is a freaking amazing bartender. He's very helpful and makes amazing drinks the quality of service here is a+.
Wow! The service was good but the food was nothing short of amazing. We had a large group of 12 and were easily accommodated. I can't wait to come back. Everyone in the party was delighted with their meals and the desserts were fantastic too!
My friends and I ate lunch here on Saturday while touring up the coast from Santa Cruz. Frankly, I think it must be one of the best Italian restaurants in the San Francisco area! We noticed a Facebook promo sticker on the door and discovered that if we "liked" them we'd get a free round of drinks -- a gift we partook of! My roasted beet salad was crisp enjoyable, and my butternut squash ravioli was excellent! I tasted my friend's grilled steak and it was fantastically good, however! Tiramisu also topped off a wonderful meal. I'd definitely go there again!
Excellent food, attentive service, great building and location. Visit and keep them in business.
Terrible pizza. Too greasy en salty and also way overpriced. Will not go again
a beautiful high end restaurant with imaginative and delicious Italian dishes. despite serving such high quality food (at high end prices), the atmosphere is light and friendly. our server was AMAZING! she offered great explanations and opinions on dishes. she didn't lead us wrong. great for date night!
Amazing food and excellent service. Homemade pasta, fresh seafood. The rooms need a makeover but well worth the drive to Half Moon Bay.
Food was decent enough but portions are super tiny, especially considering the price! 3 Spears of Asparagus and 3oz piece of salmon for $30 main course.
Best lasagne ever. It seems they bake it in the wood fired pizza oven.
Pasta Moon is known for it's home made pasta, and it's truly outstanding. We had some issues with the kitchen and service, but enjoyed the food and our visit. Our server attempted to extract our entire order from us in one meeting. Didn't happen for him. I set the tempo for the meal and he eventually got it and slowed things down. They have an excellent Italian wine selection from all regions of Italy. We had a nebbiolo from the north and really enjoyed it. Even with the issues, our server was great and recovered well. Things that stood out to me. Some of the menu items were a little overpriced for what you get. The mussels are very good, but come piled high with shoestring fries to hide the portion. Dinner items were good size and averaged about $25. Very reasonable. Again, the pastas were delicious. Dessert was a little steep. $12 for a slice of cheesecake. After dinner coffee/cappuccino were average. Might skip this next time. There were other items on the menu we will definitely return to try. Minor bumps, but we still enjoyed ourselves, the food and service.
Love, LOVE, LOVE! the new space. Yes, the prior location was great but WOW the new space is spectacular. So open and airy.
Still the same incredible pizzas. Wonderfully Frito Misto. Peach salad? Who knew it would be a THING?
Deserts to die for.
The staff is still working out some of the kinks, they opened this location just 3 days ago, but they are incredibly sweet and helpful even while they stretched.
Love Pasta Moon! Always the best food and service!! Had dinner 3 of the 4 nights we were in Half Moon Bay. Thank you so much Kim and Steve for always taking such good care of us! Best wishes on your new venture! See you in March...
Great pasta, especially the butternut squash ravioli.
The food was okay but way overpriced. I didn't really like my food so I probably won't go back.
This is our favorite place to have dinner when we are in Half Moon Bay. The service and staff are lovely and we always have a great meal! Try the butternut squash ravioli, it's delicious!
Love this place! Relaxing atmosphere, excellent service, and great wine selection.
Love, love, love the food - everytime we visit Half Moon Bay, which is at least once a year, for the last 20+ years. Service has been up and down but food is always on point last 10 years - at least since they ve been open! We love the food so much we visited the restaurant 2x in our trip to HMB this June.
First night - my husband and I split the Lasagna .we were full from lunch + had the beet salad (delicious). Our son had Pappardelle Pancetta and his friend had the Spaghetti Puttanesca. They both LOVED it . My son said it was fresh and nicely flavored . My son s friend said so many flavors going on and shellfish was fresh .... Both would order it again. As always (not being kind, honest) the Lasagna was AMAZING (has beef).
A couple of nights later, my husband and I grabbed another reservation. We moved from CA (native CA) to NC last year . Since we were here gotta indulge and experience the goodness that Pasta Moon has to offer. I pushed through the gluten the other night but had to take a break so I had the eggplant. Hubby had the Papparelle. Hubby said fresh pasta, wide noodle and thin - made the dish. Creamy pancetta and seasoned to perfection . For me, x-pescetarian, always veggie, love the eggplant. Super fresh, tomato base was delicious . As always. If you do dairy but not meat/poultry - highly recommend! SOOOO fresh!
Timing wise - fall is SOOO busy with Pumpkin Fest. Recommend reservations. Easy to do via OpenTable or call. We make reservations every time just to make sure we can experience the yummy Italian food - do NOT miss out on this!
Atmosphere of friends and good music. Good Clam Chowder and Cesar Salad.
Very good pasta along with the perfect drink that they serve here.Make sure to try them out
The affettati platter was delicious. I had lasagna and I can honestly say it was the best I've ever had. The girlfriend had the spaghetti puttanesca and while the seafood was slightly overcooked the pasta was spot on and she definitely enjoyed her meal.
The service was good and the place very busy on a Saturday night. I'm looking forward to coming back but its going to be hard ordering something other than the lasagna.
Horrible. We were 15-16min late. My mom's 81st birthday (she's blind, doesn't move at a speedy clip). We got behind a delivery truck on 92 coming from RWC, which contributed to our tardiness. We parked in front of San Benito's and walked Mom over. An older gentleman, I assume the host, told us the kitchen was already closed. Had we gotten there at 2pm, it most likely would have taken us 15-20min to go to the bathroom and wash our hands before we ordered anyway...just outrageous. We've been coming to Pasta Moon since 1991, and this is not the way I want to be treated, nor the way I believe any business should treat their patrons. When we got back to the car, it was 2:20, so I know we were not more than 15 min. late. This is a sad reflection of the direction this establishment has decided to go in. There is no excuse, especially when you see people coming in with an elderly disabled person in tow (and we did tell them it was her birthday). So wrong, on so many levels. We'll think twice before we make that trip over the hill again to go to a place that, apparently, doesn't really want you there. Way, WAY to rigid!
Generous hearty Italian dishes. The prawn tagliatelle was fresh and juicy. Pretty quiet on a Monday night and a little light on staff. Otherwise a great night out.
Amazing ambiance, impeccable service, and exquisite food. Get a reservation on a weekend because everyone knows.
Top notch dining. Great job with Covid protocol layout. Our entrees were absolutely delicious!
Food and service was excellent and the new location is just beautiful. The remodel of the former Cetrella turned out wonderfully and it's a really comfortable modern vibe paired with the consistent quality that we've come to expect from Pasta Moon.
Happened upon this restaurant late on a Saturday night. Parking was an issue - very limited on-street parking available. Now that the only negative is out of the way, this place was terrific.
Kim, and her brother Steve, the owners, made us feel welcome and were able to seat us quickly. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was not extensive, but was very diverse. We had pasta dishes that were excellent.
It s located very close to the intersection of CA-92 and CA-1 in downtown HMB so its a easy drive from Belmont/San Mateo for dinner.
Great food and unique application of spices, have not been able to find that anywhere else. Very unique! Lasagna is a signature dish.
We are very disappointed by this restaurant... saw good reviews so we went in. The ambience was nice. Also loved the bread. But every single dish was oily and way too salty. My linguine was almost soaked in oil. Did not enjoy this meal at all...
