Highly recommended for a getaway; cozy and elegant, in Alto del Risquillo, between pine forests, with beautiful panoramic views, it was the first of the hotels in the Paradores network, built in stone, it welcomes the traveler in a relaxing environment and tranquility, with a rustic and elegant interior decoration; The parador is located in an ideal starting point from which you can make excursions to nearby and unique places such as the Pico port where you will find one of the best preserved Roman roads in Spain; ... Strolling through the Navarredonda pine forest, or the King's path (as it was baptized by King Alfonso XIII), a very easy and circular route, with stone benches to rest every few meters, among centenary pine forests, where only the song of the birds break the silence of these places; At the end of the road in a valley is the spring called Fuente del Rey; Or hiking through different mountain routes, which start from the Parador and which will take you to the Circo de Gredos, the Pico Almanzor, the Laguna Grande de Gredos and the Cinco Lagunas; Enjoy the gastronomy of the area, famous for the Barco beans and the beef steak.

We just sat on the terrace for a while, we were just passing through. Good anti covid measures. Very good terrace service. It's a pity that they don't have good beers (only Cruzcampo and Heineken) and that the tapa, More

Cool. Excellent treatment, good location to discover the natural park. We have been with dog without problems. At night we did the starlight experience to discover the stars. The super full breakfast. Go highly recommended.

Taking into account the whole set seems very good in relation to the price, that's why I go every winter. Now it is undergoing renovations to make it worse, this is the case of the cafeteria that has lost its magic, More

The room and service excellent but I found dinner too oily since each dish apart from its respective sauce was served with a drizzle of oil, the cannelloni was great although the pasta was soggy, the entrecote was hard and difficult to cut with a great flavor . The tumble potatoes are very tasty but scarce. The best desserts were worth the brownie and millefeuille. High price but good, although room for improvement 6/10

The first Parador has the charm of a mountain refuge. Keep in mind that it was built in 1928, the windows are narrow, it does not have air conditioning or a pool, the floors are made of wood ... but the excellent maintenance makes it comfortable, without losing the charm of living in a capsule of the weather. Highly recommended to disconnect, excursions through the Sierra de Gredos, see the stars from the viewpoints. Always with the excellent level of service from Paradores.

I send this message to the people who attended us with such affection, dedication and sympathy. Human courage has been fantastic, from the time I ate breakfast until you went to sleep. The breakfasts of very good quality and variety of fruits, dinner on the 24th, had quality and good presentation.
The Parador is very well kept, and pleasant.
I suggest that in the lounges, which have enough space, they will place Villar tables or some entertainment for adults ... being away from everything, it would be to complete this paradise.
Thank you for your attention on such a special date. Mimi Argentina, living in Torrox costa

He rated two stars because the hostel is beautiful and the location special. But when you go to a place like this and paying for your own you do not expect to be housed in the worst room with views of the back areas of the kitchens where the suppliers go, maintenance of machinery and that by the way make their noise and also just at side of the entrance to the dining room with its usual traffic of people. I speak of a room that has a rat as an identifying sign.
Then at the dinners, the waiters in a hurry, we were seated at a table just outside the kitchen with swinging doors that kicked and kicked and went quickly moving in the chairs and holding the whole dinner that far from being the quiet and romantic dinner we were looking for.

We have spent Christmas Eve at the Parador. Very nice and friendly staff. The rooms quite spacious and both dinner and breakfast and very abundant and good food. The only downside that I see is that they admit dogs and although I am not very much in favor of these places they should not be, they never bothered me at all. The location is ideal in the center of Gredos.

I just dined in the restaurant. I was not lodged We had a good dinner All very rich, but very fast. We had not finished the entrees and we had the seconds on the table. We had to finish the entrees afterwards. That yes, after took more than half an hour until we took note of the dessert. Then in the cafeteria we ordered a gin and tonic. The glass too small. They did not have big glasses and on top of that I had to use the tonic. Yes, 13 each.

The first Parador that was made in Spain. The environment is fantastic. The rooms are nice, have good size and beautiful views of Navarredonda pine forest where the Parador is located. Restaurant and breakfast acceptable without more.

The setting is beautiful, but the parador not so much. There is no air conditioning. The floor sounds a lot. The rooms could be better equipped. Very friendly staff. Too expensive for what is offered.

Enclave very good, but expensive. The building is from 1928, although some parts have been reformed or are now doing so. However, it is expensive for what it offers. The furniture is quite old. You can be lucky and have a room with a view of the hillside of Gredos. Or bad luck and, for the same price, give the opposite side, which has little interest. The common areas are fine. The rooms are spacious. Recommended to seek tranquility and spend 2 or 3 nights, at the most.

Lovely site Good views. Room 528 has problems of soundproofing and that makes the score that should be 5 stars go down to 3. But it is worth coming. Tonight we will try the restaurant. I hope it is of the quality that the site promises.

At night from 0:00 the sound stopped when the bar closed and the rest was great.

Restaurant value for money adjusted, score 6.5 out of 10.

It is worth visiting the Parador. The walk of the pleasant surroundings.

I just spent three nights. It is in a wonderful place. The restaurant and breakfast were superb. One suggestion: on very hot days, a ceiling fan would be great. At night it is not necessary, but between 3 and 9 in the afternoon the fan would be appreciated.
Very friendly staff. Everything is recommended.

Simply great; I love his style, his surroundings, his location and his views. Probably the oldest of the paradors, but in my opinion, the most charming. I will continue staying in such a beautiful hotel whenever I go hiking through Gredos.
