I discovered Pane and Slame by chance, I was in the area looking for a place to have lunch that was not a tourist trap. A little waiting is necessary given the few seats, but the quality of the products is really good. I would definitely go back!
Sandwiches are delicious! I love their Porchetta sandwich #P. However, I wish they had a way of organizing their ordering and seating process. When waiting in line, make sure you don't lose your spot and be aggressive! Otherwise people will just butt in right in front of you and the staff have no way of knowing who was waiting first!! But the sandwiches are so good, it's worth the wait!

Very good cutting boards and sandwiches at very low prices but of excellent quality. You can't book but my boyfriend and I went twice, once for lunch and once for dinner and we always found a place.

If you want to make a parenthesis of pasta and pizza go to this place, delicious sausages, cheeses, panino and wine. The size of the tables depends on the variety of sausage you order, the precious one is per person. In the photo you see a small table for two, 5e per person. Delicious Food for two with 36e wine bottle, quality price of 10!

Excellent for a midday sandwich while visiting Rome
Very good lunch place. We ordered medium size cold cut plate, it comes with some sweet-spocy sauce and various kind of cheese. All was tasty. Sandwiches are probably best in town. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table in low season but it was worth it.
We went there around 15:00 we where two people.When we arrived they where around 5 other people waiting and at that moment we thought we were going to wait for a long time but like us the waiter came and said there is a table for 2 and we were the only two people group there so we got sited first. It's worth saying that the other people got sited a short after us and nobody was waiting for a long time outside.
The staff speaks prefect English (hard find for Rome) and the menu is in English too. The prices are really good for a restaurant near the center .The panne =sandwiches cost from 4-5 and if you need any additional ingredient is +0,50 .There are also big plates with a big variety of cheese and ham i believe they were around 7 . The beverages are also cheap beer around 2,5 and glass of wine start from 3 . I mean if this not amazing what is it :)

Came at 21.00 on Saturday, waited about 20 minutes. For two we ordered:
- large vegetarian board, 10 (Tagliere Veget 10)
- large mix board, 15 (Tagliere Misto 15)
- red wine Muntepulciano, bottle, 20 .
Everything is very, very tasty and fresh. A foodie's paradise.
For serving 1 per person. We sat for an hour, ate goodies, and ate everything with pleasure.
The bill is 47 for two.
Closes at 22.00, but we were until 22.30. Thank you for letting us enjoy it without haste. Waiters - fire))) pleasant service.

* Dar Poeta - the most delicious SuperBufalo pizza 9.5 , Dar Porta pizza 9 - for lovers of spicy taste. Dinner - 38 .
* Pane e Salame - large vegetarian board, 10 (Tagliere Veget 10) and large mix board, 15 (Tagliere Misto 15). Our dinner - 47 .
* Cipasso - great service and gourmet food: lasagna, tiramisu, panna cotta, crostino ... Mmmm ... Not cheap, our check for dinner with wine and desserts was 82 . It's worth it))

My friends and I decided to stop by on a whim since the place was buzzing with people. We got seated quite quickly despite it being busy. Waiters were super friendly and explained the dishes to us and gave us recommendations. Sandwiches were delicious--some of the best I've ever had. Definitely would go again if I had the chance.
The sandwiches were amazing and reasonably priced. They range from 4,50 - 6,50 for takeout and if you wish to eat in, it s an extra 1 per person for table service. There s tons of options, and they have something for everybody!

Tried wild board board (pink meat is definitely one for the books), panini T (amazing buffala) and C (delightful tuna cream). Waited for twice as long as the line for the Colosseum. Is it worth the wait? Your curiosity can only answer that. Very kind waiters - one of the only things that brightens your day spent around millions of tourists.

Today, on the third day in Rome, I ate two expensive and very common spaghetti and pizza, and I had no confidence in the Roman diet. In the evening, I found this second-ranked restaurant in Rome, just beside the Trevi Fountain and use Google Maps to find it all the way. The service and food tastes very satisfying, so amazing!
Great place to eat fast, well and without nonsense. Hot and very rich sandwiches and good price. It's small (like everyone in Rome) but it's really worth it. Faster is to order, pay and wait outside to bring the bag with the paper. Highly recommended

With great satisfaction I leave a very positive feedback to this sandwich shop which is located in a very intimate environment with a ceiling made up of ancient brick vaults. You may need to wait those 10 or 15 minutes to sit down on busy days but they also offer take-away service. I entered with the fear of the tourist trap but they actually offer a good choice of exceptional products representing different excellences of Italian charcuterie. In short, a real treat for a quick sandwich in the heart of Rome

We love their sandwiches! They are hearty. Could totally share one. The flavors are top notch. So fresh and delicious. We loved their meat board. We liked their pecorino cheese board.

The first time we were there, we found them from a yelp or google review. We saw a queue starting before they opened so we jumped in line!! Not tons of space but it turns over fairly quick. You can also order take away if no room.
They do have restrooms which is a huge bonus!! I d say in between the Trevi Fountain & Pantheon. Easy walk.

OMG OMG WOW THIS PLACE IS TRULY an amazing gem. Great 7-8 tables inside and great music. The sandwiches and meat boards are truly the best we've had,. We're here for 4 day & want to come here for lunch or dinner every day before I head to Los Angeles. Fabricio was wonderful, efficient and super nice. Tuna with tomato's was to die for and can't wait to come back before we leave. My family devoured the meat board & always great to have Italian beer

If you re looking for great sandwiches (panini s) look no further. Pane e Salame is located steps away from the Trevi Fountain and is nothing short of delicious. The staff are superb - very attentive, explain everything on the menu, answer all your questions. Your food is served relatively quickly and it will not disappoint. The bread is fresh, their vegetables are fresh, cold cuts are delicious and what s best of all - their prices are so reasonable. They aren t ripping you off at all! You ll pay less here for a top quality sandwich than eating fast food anywhere else. We found this place our last day of holiday and when we return to Rome we will visit this place again!
We found this place onnohr last day in Rome. We wish it had been the first. The "Boards" are huge and you cpay per person. We chose the medium which was 10 Euros per person. They broad out an approx. 40 inch Ann of wood loaded with cheeses and meets with bread and spread. It was a lunch feast, and could have been a dinner too. They also offer sandwiches which one in our party had. They were good. The service was friendly and they spoke English too. The beer and wine was good too. They need a place like this in California.
