Icon homes are cheaply built/finished. The house is 2 years old and it has had construction defect issues due to shoddy craftsmanship. They don t care about quality or customer experience.

The WORST company! Jen Engen is incredibly unprofessional.

I used to work for Icon Construction. I've worked for several builders in my career. This is by far the best company I've worked for. The management wants to do the right thing, even when it comes at a cost to the company. The subcontractors are loyal and professional, because Icon treats them right. The owner cares about his customers and employees.

In the theee years I worked there, I've never seen a corner cut. I would recommend buying one of their houses, and they are beautiful.

I hope someday to buy an Icon home.

Do NOT buy a home from Icon. I purchased a brand new home in Oregon City from Icon about 13 years ago. They were negligent in installing the siding and rock work on my house. I am currently having to spend around $80,000 to repair the dry rot that has resulted from their negligence. The dry rot was so bad that major structural beams of my house had been eaten down to less than half the beam. I have contacted them and they sent their warranty guy out to inspect the damage. He couldn t deny that such damage should not exist in a 13 year old house. He reported back to the owner and will no longer return my phone calls. This company takes your money for shotty work and will not stand behind their work and do the right thing to repair it. Just about everyone I have spoken to in my neighborhood has had issues with their construction. You have been warned. Stay away from Icon built houses.

I'm tired of them pumping their water uphill into the street and yards above me. They should not be allowed to do this with impunity (Thanks West Linn).

Does the owner of the new home from where the water is coming from realize there may have been a pond of water that appeared at their foundation site once they did the excavation over the summer (wishful thinking that the groundwater flow would get better once the rains came?).

I'm writing this because I called Icon to shore up their leaking water hoses and damaged couplers, and stop using duct tape to try and solve the problem, but I was accused of messing with their water hoses. Apparently, anyone that would be upset with water being redirected uphill and towards their home would be a prime suspect for damaging the water hoses they had tried to repair using duct tape.

We had a great experience working with Icon on our new home purchase a few months ago. This is our 3rd home, and we love the quality and attention to detail. Everyone was super nice to work with throughout the process - highly recommend!

The home we bought appeared to be well constructed. Structurally, there are no issues. However, they did a horrible job with finish work, finishes, products, and vendors. I would never recommend working with Icon to anyone, in fact, I have told several friends and family to never use them or buy from them. We had problems with their vendors during our one year follow up never following up and fixing and finishing their work. The drywall and taping was the worst I have ever seen in any home anywhere. And it was never fixed after being fixed. We had problems with them changing things on our plans and then telling us they had the authorization to redline things they felt necessary without telling us. This caused a huge problem with our upstairs bathroom that we then spent several hundred dollars fixing. Horrible company, horrible management.
