The food was very good and good value for the money. All of us were rolling out of there we were so full. The staff and the owner were really kind and funny. I'll definitely recommend!

Definitely order the roasted grape and tallegio cheese pizza....delicious! Although I am a fan of the original deep dish pizza, this is a good option for lighter fare!
Love this place! The Arugula salad and three hour roasted grape pizza are amazing!!
All in all, good food and a great spot for a group that wants to be able to try a little of everything... all for a very affordable cost.
Excellent, good foot, fondue was so good and the pork belly pizza. Quiet and calm good place to sit down and relax after going around Chicago.
Favorite spot to eat great pizza. Staff is always friendly and the desserts are heavenly.
Pretty good food. But the portion is quite small. I ordered a pizza and 2 apps for 2, feel like I haven't really ate anything after the dinner is over. Nice place for a date I would say.
Wow, Bruschette w/ mozzarella, tomatoes and balsamic was amazing! The ambiance and music work, a little construction next door, but still worth the trip. Good service, just took a bit once it started getting busy.
If Chicago deep dish just sounds like a food coma - go with this AMAZING neopolitan style pizza place. I love the Spinach Fondue also - an amazing appetizer! Great for wine as well.
awesome drinks. graet food .great survice .nice staff. MEXICAN FOOD
The Margherita pizza was decent. I would definitely eat it again. $17 for a large pizza, a hungry person could probably eat 3/4 of it. The gnocchi was amazing, I would definitely recommend and re-order. The Blood Orange Ice in Prosecco was also the perfect way to end a good meal.
Good pizza but overpriced compared to other places in the area with similar quality.
I really enjoyed the pizza with lamb sausage. It was spicy without being overly hot and still quite flavorful. Surprisingly, I also really got into the artichoke pizza.
Their pepperoni offering was underwhelming. Though I appreciate truffle oil, it's lost on this particular pizza and slips entirely under the radar. Anyone not paying attention to the menu would dismiss it as simply being a pepperoni pie with bonus sea o' grease.
Okay, so other than sharply contrasting salads, the food was pleasant and worth a return trip. The wine list is extensive and has something for everyone. Service was fair -- one server was enthusiastic and attentive, the other counting seconds until being cut, or wanting to physically cut those he was serving. I'm not sure, but he wasn't a happy camper.
I'd also skip the "Wisconsin Electric" butter cookies. They're about as good as Wisconsin's other primary export, the Packers: dry, bland, hated by many, loved by one. Tastes like Brett Favre!
Love this spot! Great service and amazing food. Get the pizza fondue!!
Great first date spot. Pizzas are delicious and the staff is amazing. They are super fast too.
This was a nice sport in a convenient location. I awaited my friends at the bar where service was friendly. They have a weekly wine special, which I ordered and it was nice. They were honest about recommendations between menu items. We were then seated. I had a butter lettuce salad that was very good and I ordered a white pizza (shaved artichoke). Unfortunately they do not have chili oil, which I discovered in Italy and love on my pizza, but they were kind enough to bring out olive oil and crushed red pepper, which was thoughtful (usually restaurants just bring out the pepper without thinking to bring olive oil). Ambiance was nice and not too loud. We had difficulty getting a reservation on a Saturday night but were ankle to secure a Sunday night table.
My wife and I love this place! We live in Michigan and try to come here every year on our anniversary for a special dinner. We love the thin crust triple pepperoni pizza!!
The Mussles were very very good. I had a really good New Years eve Dinner there.
Nice spot in the loop for quality thin crust pizza. Pizza is good but not great, the dough was lacking any flavor. Atmosphere and service are great. I like that they offer wine pairings for everything on the menu and the server is more then happy to explain why. I wish they had a few more vegetarian options.
I go here every time I am in Chicago ! Great ambience , great food, great service !
Probably my favorite place for sit-down pizza in the city.
My two favorites have to be the seasoned wild mushroom with smoked mozzarella and the triple pepperoni. But I have yet to have any I haven't loved right down to the roasted grapes.
Great wines and salads to make your meal complete!
Amazing pizza and salads. Its good for 2 people or with a group. I have hosted a work event in their semi-private room and it was awesome. The staff was attentive and helpful in picking out the right amount of food. I tend to crave the 3 hour aged grape pizza. Great spot.
Nice atmosphere. Food was good but not great, as was service. We did notice there were a bunch of fruit flies around our table but nothing to chase us away.
This is a good, thin crust pizza place. They have different options you don't see everywhere, like a grape & tallegio pizza that's really good. We went for my bachelorette party and they were really easy to work with. They helped us set up a set menu, and even printed out special menus for us.
Elegant pizza in River North
Chicago is famous for pizza, so the competition is fierce. La Madia is one of the best, however. It's thin-crust, with fresh toppings, and a smoky brick oven taste. Their bar is crowded after work, probably due to the free pizza which is available before 7. A friend and I had the wild mushroom pizza with pecorino with a Vesevo, Sannio Falanghina 07 from Campania.
I have finally made it here. After three years of wanting to come, but always passing it up, I MADE IT!
I love OpenTable for reservations. I dont know why, but I just love clicking a button online and poof, its done.
The food was pretty good. Mozzarella brushetta and the spinach fondue was amazing! I loved the spinach fondue. OMG, the dipping sauce was amazing. I could have ate all of it and more. Plus, it was HUGE! TON O CARBS. Sorry Atkins...just cant do it!
We also did the three cheese pizza, which I found to be ok. It really didnt have much flavor, but overall A-OK. The carbonara pizza, which again was good, but I was expecting more. The chicken ravioli was delish. I would definitely go back for some more homemade pasta and apps. The pizza just didnt live up to the hype for me.
Our server was awesome though. Very personable and informative. Unpretentious.
Perfect spot for an odd mix of dietary restrictions in your party (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc.). Loved the variety. Highly recommended. Book The Wine Room for large groups.
I honestly cannot believe I didn't find out about La Madia until recently. They make some amazing Italian dishes without the flow of grease that you often get in Italian dishes at non-top-notch locales.
Ambience: Classy but casual - you can sit at the pizza counter or the dining room.
Service: Our server was so attentive until after he served our dishes. Then he kind of disappeared, and we had to wait and wait... and wait... and wait....... to get a box and the check.
Food: What a lovely surprise of fresh and tasty Italian food! The pizzas are a must have, and you should definitely try one of their pastas!
Great service staff, spectacular meal. We will return
Great brick oven pizza with red and white pizzas and a little known secret: they have a late night menu Sunday - Thursday 9 pm - Close! You get 1 Salad, 1 Pizza for $20. I also like La Madia for lunch because everyone likes salad, pizza and $5 wine! Great spot on a week day or night! Love the Honey Crisp Apple bruscetta and Pizza Fondue starter! Awesome patio/side walk seating in the summer.
Outstanding pizza place, featuring a good selection of ingredients.
I came to Osteria la Madia in 2016 for Chicago Restaurant Week - it had a few highs and lows... I thought the servings and options for restaurant week were great. Everything was a plenty generous size - my friend and I both did the pre fixe menu, split everything to share and we still had plenty to take home. I absolutely loved the dessert options they had - something for all preferences. Unfortunately, I woke up the next day vomiting with food poisoning (my friend was fine). I think it was the Spinach and White Truffle fondue, since I had absolutely demolished that the night before. Overall, probably one of the worst meals I've had in retrospect, but would I go again? Yes, because pizza.
Great Italian pizza. Try the Pepperoni and truffle oil, and the 3 hour roasted grape and tellagio cheese. Great location as well!
Two for one pizzas on Mondays are a steal. Lots of vegetarian and GF options
They have very very very very very very good food. You people out there should try there food there is just like i said very very very very very very very good.
The pizza and wine is excellent. I had a great bottle of merlot recommended by the waiter. The atmosphere was great also.
Service was slow, but only because it's a popular joint, and for good reason. Very tasty pizza, big enough for 2 if you're not starving. Also very good pasta.
I loved how this place looked from the outside so we decided to stop by and get some dinner. It was probably the best thin crust pizza we ever had.
Good downtown spot for thin crust pizza. I like that they have interesting topping combinations like the pizza carbonara leeks, pancetta and organic egg. They also have a weekly wine special for $6 which has made me explore cool wine varieties that I probably wouldn't normally think to order.
La Madia is my favorite pizza place in Chicagoland. Keep in mind, I'm quite the pizza lover, so that's quite a statement. If it was socially and dietarily acceptable, I'd probably eat pizza as part of every meal.
Anywho, back to La Madia. Every person I've recommended the place to or brought there loved it as well. The pizza fondue is a great appetizer. I've been there so many times that all of the different pizzas run together though, so I can't really recommend a specific one.
holy gauc0mole this is a tradintional place. brick oven pizza burner and great seletion of dishes. they take new styles to traditional dishes what else can i say its a staple on chicago that every one should make a trip.
We love La Madia! When we moved to Chicago 3 years ago, we searched for a great pizza place... we found it at La Madia! Also a great wine list, great service and open during construction! See you there every Friday night!
The pizza was delicious! Cocktails were tasty as well. Service was prompt and friendly.
