Highly over-rated, IMHO. Some folks nice, others not so nice. Music okay, food okay. Difficult for alterabled to get around. Loud & crowded. Same crafts since forever. Pros: cheaper than BM. Cons: only volunteers get to party after hours. BTW finally got to stay after closing. Major let down.

A really fun place to express your individuality and vibe with others. Several different stages with live music and entertainment, unfortunately it's incredibly crowded and it's hard to really check anything out when you're wandering around looking at things. Many different (high priced) vendors with hand crafted items, gem stones, leatherworks, food and drink, etc.

This is the most amazing cultural experience on the west coast you can have outside of Burning Man. The people, the psychology, the love, it all flows together to make a truly unforgettable phenomena. The only warning I have is that you might need an extra day off, because you will have to force yourself to re-integrate with the mentality present in normal society. It is unpleasant and ultimately futile, as everyone who goes to the fair (I would like to believe at least) takes a little bit of it home with them.
See you there!

There is no place like it. The people, their spirit, the tradition!!! It's all unique to this area.
Life should be like one big Oregon Country Faire but in absence of that it is wonderful to have it once a year and see all those people once more. The smiling faces, their high hopes, dreams, the food, songs and dances.

Ahhhh... to camp beneath the giant oaks in high summer when the grass is golden and the stars so close. I was there in the early days and though distance has kept me from it for some time I am sure to be back. I want to see it many more times. Till then I will keep the joy, the grandness of so much fun within me.
Of course I don't expect it to be the same, neither will I be but with the help of sights and smells and old friends I will remember for those no longer here and those who can hardly forget: There is no place on earth like it.

Being that the fair only runs for one 3 day weekend it is very over-crowded, my concern was with the clouds of dust on the path and especially for all the babies and little children, it hurt my eyes and lungs. The parking was very organized the shuttle was great, all the attendees seemed very happy, the food was great, did not see any of the acts, but if crowds are your thing go for it!
