I would like to share my experience as the parent of a minor child in hopes that it can be helpful for other parents of children interested in modeling. First of all, the 5 star ratings received by Option Model and Media are legitimate. When my daughter signed with this local agency almost 3 years ago, I knew nothing about the industry and was quite apprehensive about her starting a career in modeling. I actually had some negative impressions of the modeling world and was reluctant to support her in pursuit of her modeling dream. Thank goodness my daughter had the good fortune to be signed at Option! Her career is really developing within the Portland market, and she s had all the resources she needs to be successful. All staff members including Nina, Kit, Oscar, Chaz, Candice, and Dennis have been incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, supportive, and most of all, protective of my daughter. It s this last point I wish to emphasize, because my experience has been that when an Option model goes for auditions, shoots, and shows, she is doing so with strict policies and guidelines for personal and professional safety. Beyond that, they are also very experienced in the bigger picture of expanding to other geographic areas and providing guidance and advice for those interested in expanding career paths. The Option team really is family, and their caring and support for their models is genuine. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

A review by a parent of a minor teenager:
When my son (Nic) was in high school, he approached me, during dinner, about pursuing a career in modeling. Not exactly what I was expecting dinner conversation to be after a day at work. Unfamiliar about the modeling industry, I agreed to accompany Nic, at his request, to the interviews of what he called the few reputable agencies in Portland. Nic had researched all the local agencies the prior week, and determined which ones were the most reputable and professional. Over the next week, we visited and went through the interview process of his selected agencies. One agency blew both of us away, Option Model and Media.
While I was hesitant about Nic pursuing this passion, I agreed to support him in this endeavor as long as he kept up his grades and sports activities.
There were several reasons we chose Options over the other agencies.
Both Nina and Kit were the most professional interviewers and the most sincere/realistic in explaining how the modeling industry really works. That interview took 20-30 minutes. One of the other agencies owners missed the interview and asked his assistants to take some cell phone photos and he would get back to Nic. We were there 3-4 minutes. Nic quickly crossed that agency off his list.
Everything that Nina told us during the interview has turned out to be true.
It s been nearly four years since Nic chose to sign with Option s.
