Unexpectably good food and perfect service, would deserve two stars for sure (compared to e. g. Le Chanteclair) Top ten for amuse bouche: poached egg with smoked roe, same for the most perfect fois gras hot from the pan with ginger sauce, apricot, onion, licorice (genial) and for main course blood dove, close to heaven. Very good wines to match.

One of the top 5 meals of my life. Such an amazing dining experience in a beautiful venue. The chef was very personable and served an excellent menu. Get the big tasting meal, it is well worth the extra cost for the experience
Food was, sorry to say; really bad for the insanely high price. Nothing standing out, sure the fish and vegetables were cooked well but for the standard they say they have that's the least you can expect. Bland taste and bad balances of the ingredients.
After walking around the city it is so nice to find a comfortable spot with a view. With this restaurant you get the added bonus of being atop a museum - a tribute to furnishings and clothes from Operatic days gone by. Once you reach the top dine in the open balcony and try a Swedish Burger. Plenty of European beers and friendly staff.
A restaurant where you can try authentic Swedish plates in a cozy old style interior setting. The service was very good, but the food was so so for me (not bad, but not special).
Coming from New York City, I remembered the Edwardian Room at the Plaza Hotel in the 1950's and smiled as we entered. But this was better.....and it's here. So it begins that the mood is set by the architecture and continues with the grace of the staff. And the food is terrific. There were 10 of us and we are all foodies. We had a set meal of a salad, a cod dish and dessert. But what wonderful way with salad and cod and dessert. And then there were those little things from the chef. Dinner was beautifully paced. What a wonderful night. A+
We ate the lighter with wine package. Plus all the art dishes from the kitchen in between! Incredibly good service, so friendly staff. Expensive but good quality costs.
If you can accept the cost there is not much to complain about here. The home and cradle of fine dining in Sweden. Heavy with tradition but with great culinary competence and the most extensive and prestigious wine cellar in the country. The Christmas buffe is extensive, partly tasting menu, partly buffe. Excellent quality. Drink pairing available but is rather complicated for a buffe dinner why better select your own drinks. Outstanding service. Expensive but good value.
Very nice welcome, and the service is at the very highest level, the food in top class, the best I have ever eaten (including what I have eaten abroad on my travels around the world). Chiefs were able to answer questions about the beverage selection very well and this place should be number one on TripAdvisor. Here you go as a couple, larger party or company, but not a family for the simple reason that it is not such a place, then there are other more child-friendly restaurants. We got babysitting and went here. If you want to celebrate something special or someone special and get a service in absolute top class then I would recommend a visit here. We also had the pleasure of getting one of the dishes transfected by the self-operative cellar himself - Stefano Catenacci, very nice!
Disabled-friendly environment, good acoustics and nice rooms. I am quite disappointed with the food. Wallenberger with butter-sliced peas, potato puree and browned butter. Tasted like a mashed tray with falu sausage. Not really what I looked forward to.
Visit the Royal Michelin Staro that comes from the 1895 restaurant to experience the delicacies of the restaurant you visit in the Royal Family. 1895 which is visiting by Royal Family.
The "Bakfickan" part of the restaurant, "a half circle bar table" servers 28 seats, interesting setup, Opera related decor, really comfy. I ordered a short ribs dish, slow cooked with red wine, really nice food!
Worth a visit! The food, the room and the staff are of the highest class. Ordered the three course menu, but with all the dishes we had enough in almost ten dishes which makes the menu affordable.
A magical experience! Everything is top notch, the room staff and the food. The small appetizers between the main dishes are always equally exciting! Make sure to eat here at least once or twice a year and it is always equally enjoyable.
Friendly, responsive and service-oriented staff. Food and wine left nothing to be desired. The room is an experience in itself. Super happy with the dinner in its entirety.
As you know, more classic environment is difficult to find in Sweden. But the nice thing about the Opera cellar is that both food and serving (a play of its own) are of a very high class. One not only cares for a cultural heritage but is actually located in the gastronomic front. The wine cellar is a separate chapter that almost requires reading before the visit as it is huge. A visit to the Opera cellar does not disappoint anyone.
The price is not cheap at all, but the atmosphere is good. I ate steak and meatballs and it was not as good as I expected. But it was restaurant where we could feel local atmosphere. The carved fries were very delicious.
THIS was one of the verst experience of a lifetime My san made reservation at the Brasserie beside this restaurant , where we realized it has a Michelin star, was happy to see it and we decided to tray this, ( I am not to much of a fancy dress guy, we were wearing jeans and shirt.) DO NOT JUDJE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also i have been in the best restaurants around the world Michelin 3 stars 2 stars and one star We asked the metredee if there is available table He kindly asked to wait for the Manager That is wen the disaster started The most arrogant person i have ewer meat First he gave me a lecture that we may be at the wrong place because it has a tasting menu and a vine paring and it is quiet pricy, and wen i asked if they have available table, the answer was an other lecture of that we should cancel the reservation for the other restaurant because that would be a nice thing to do ( which we would have done anyway). After this introduction of the etiket we were able to get a table. Where my san put his Telephone and hie glasses on the table, which was removed by one of the waiter and put on the bag chair beside us (by the way i looked around and some of the other table had the phones and wallets and glasses on the table as well. The service was adequate. Waiters doing the usual table etikett which is acceptable at a Michelin 1 star restaurant with a smile. The food was over salty every meal. the presentation was quiet nice. If the manager would learn some table meaners and customer service, or just removed completely it could be a nice place to visit
The opera cellar was opened in 1787 in the opera house, the Gustavian Opera House, which Gustav III then erected. For many decades, food service in the rather poorly furnished hall was only an appendage to the beverages. The old "Opris", which the place of everyday life was called, experienced in the 1830s to 1840s its golden age as the mainstay of the actor state, other artists as well as writers and politicians. In the mornings, there were especially "stone burgers" (a kind of spicy liquor, which was consumed with a crust as a snack and was washed down with a glass of weak drink).
Celebrated my 20 years here today, there is basically nothing to point out when the service was gallant and the food the same. But if you'll take the opportunity to nag a little bit so I can give my dry martini was the strong direction!
What wonderful food and service. We love to go here and eat and you always feel special when you are here and eat. Stefano knows exactly what to do to have a great experience.
Nice treatment when planning a family dinner. Warm welcome. Wonderful good food and good drinks. Fantastic staff. Worth every penny. Ms. Ingrid and Sune Olsson
Food was good but not amazing. The service around the food was also good but the wine services was not up to expectations. Also we were not offered any wine with our cheese selection and neither any avec after the meal. We had to wait for check for an unexpected long time.
Fantastically beautiful restaurant and friendly staff. A Christmas dinner here with extra everything but unfortunately left something disappointed as we had to rush through half the dinner when the staff forgot about us which only punished us. However, was compensated :)
There are not many Michelin 1 star restaurants in Sweden. Authentic Western food is generally a good menu. Every dish is full of flavors and flavors. The service is very good. It is recommended to taste the boiled rice.
A pretty good place to visit with friends. A well made interior. Really enjoyed the service, but can say, that for me the the prices are too high. Still can recommend the place!
Awesome place, really great food. Great experience. The people that work there where great in kinds of ways. Fast, funny, and did their job perfectly. Last but not least the surprises was good!
