I nice place to visit - I didn't think that I would enjoy this (my son booked it as a trip to see what it was like), but it was a very interesting tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining and explained a lot about the history of the building, the patrons, and the shows. We were lucky enough to attend as they were rehearsing La Tosca and watched about 5 minutes from one of the boxes - No photos allowed of that part. Would certainly recommend to people who may not consider an opera tour.

Once you cross the threshold of the theater, leave this world and fall into a timeless space. The elegant liveries of the attendants welcome you together with their polite kindness, the stuccos the furnishings the buzz of the background and the first hints of the strings that seek the chords are what will win your eyes and ears. And then the splendid and unique glance at the most famous and beautiful theater in the world will open up before you. And it doesn't matter if you attend a ballet opera or concert. It will be all pure magic even for those who are not passionate or expert. A musical art experience not to be missed.

One of the most famous theaters in the world, which has hosted Rossini, Verdi, Puccini and the best contemporary conductors

From the outside, it has a discreet appearance, but the interior is glamorous, compatible with its fame.

With works in poster, it is recommended to buy your tickets in advance, if you want the favorite place, or even availability.

Outside, a very average building interior does not impress either. However, the part with the stage and audience makes a positive impression. It seems that listening to good opera the place is still gaining attractiveness. However, the sightseeing itself does not bring special emotions.

I was able to watch the Mozart Opera in a very good place with a limited view table in good time. It was a pleasure to be in one space with world-renowned conductor Zubinmeta, top-class orchestras and vocalists.

For reference, the box office is always located in the basement of Duomo Station. In other words, if you want to buy a ticket, do not come here, but you have to buy it from Duomo Station. Of course, it is also available on the Internet.

The theater was closed due to a show being install. But went next door to the museum. That as a self guided tour, took us into the foyer and a few of the balcony boxes at the rear of the theater to peek inside. It was late in the afternoon and a guided tour of the actual theater was not available. The museum on the main level is small and has many artifacts from the past - pre 1950's. The 2nd floor is about Maria Callas and her history at Teatro alla Scala in the 50's. Nothing in the museum is about the modern theater as it is today, or in the past 50 years.

Magnificent place, well worth doing the guided tour ( 25) which also includes the museum. The tour takes you to places you can't go if you just pay the 9 for the gallery. You get to sit in the Royal Box and visit the understate area to see the workings of the place. Guide was very good and provided lots of information on the history of the building and it's refurbishment in 2001
