I am not going to talk about history that everyone knows, nor about architecture, nor about concerts with famous names. I am going to speak and confess what it feels like behind the scenes, there where the great ones awaited breath and emotion. To feel Scala you must be behind, you must hear, see and feel what they / you, you must be invited in the last rehearsal or to come and go from voices to the test. Scala is a step in the interpretation, not the last, nor the first, because that is what sometimes, without mistake, the public decides, forever and ever. SCALA. No more no less. Listen, understand, transmit. Thank you.

Loved it. However we were quite surprised by the building itself. It s so simple you would never imagine it to be La Scala. But obviously they re famous for their performances and those are hard to beat. Thanks La Scala for the great time of our lives.

The top ... The Teatro alla Scala, often referred to informally as "la Scala", is the main opera house in Milan. Considered as one of the most prestigious theaters in the world, it has hosted for 240 years the main artists in the international field of opera, and, more generally, of classical music, often commissioning works still present in the posters of the major theaters in the world.
The theater was inaugurated on August 3, 1778 with the recognized Europe composed for the occasion by Antonio Salieri and took its name from the church of Santa Maria alla Scala demolished to make room for the New Royal Ducal Teatro alla Scala.
Starting from the year of foundation, it is the seat of the homonymous choir, of the orchestra, of the corps de ballet, and since 1982 also of the Philharmonic. The theater complex is located in the square of the same name, flanked by the Ricordi Casino, now home to the La Scala Theater Museum.

Amazing!! The outside of the Teatro Alla Scala is nice...the inside is beyond words!! As you climb the staircase you see bits of the incredible history of La Scala. As you enter the the hall(gathering place for drinks before the production and at intermission) it is easy to imagine men in their formal attire and women in their gowns(100 years ago)! Then you enter on of the private boxes for a chance to see the theater it's self. As I said in the beginning... Amazing!!!

One of the landmarks of Milan. I was not impressed from the building, still, it is a must see while in visiting the city. If you are lucky you can buy a ticket on the spot and see an opera in one of the most prominent opera theatres in the world. Just against the Teatro you will see Leonardo's statue who was also a musician, among all his other talents. Typical for Milan, this is extremely busy area.

Wonderful

I honestly expected something more.
Very luxurious, of course, but inside it is really small. I probably had a different idea and the fact that it is not true has left me with a bad taste in my mouth ...

It is the temple of music. If you can get the ticket ...... The Scala initiative for the gi
ovani has led thousands of children to approach classical music, operas and concerts. Excellent.

The performance was great - music, singing, stage were perfect. The theater itself disappointed. If you have seats in the upper levels (galleries) you are not allowed to use the main entrance and walk downstairs during intermission, the seats are so small, no average person could fit, people coming and going behind the seats. Paying 30-60 euros one hopes for better treatment.

The opera house is antique and stunning. I was in Strauss's bat show. The show is quite remake and adapted for the period. SMS messages instead of letters. Exhibitors dressed in contemporary elegance. Modern decor. It loses a bit of flavor if compared to earlier-adjusted shows. But the place is stunning and worth the experience.

A myth

Its marvellous, gorgeous and take you to 18th century. Wonderfully maintained. All tourists visiting to Milan should visit and watch an opera over here. It's so close to Piazza del Duomo.

Spectacular theater, but I bought the last remaining tickets on the 7th floor around the corner. It was written on the limited wiew ticket, but you can't see anything! Plus the air was unbreathable and we ran away at the end of the first act! I understand that it is an ancient theater, but they should adapt it from the point of view of the quality of the air! I forgot the places are very small, impossible to stay in for someone like me 185 cm tall and 100kg heavy! Disappointed! I ask people who make reviews to write the truth and not to make a priori judgments! Nobody can question the beauty of the theater, but paying the ticket to not see anything is outrageous!

Difficult to say something original on the Scala ....

Difficult to say something original on the Scala .... but definitely worth a visit: take a seat in a stage, admire one of the many wonderful shows, close your eyes and imagine how it could be in 1800 ... When you book, you pay attention to the choice of seats. From different sites in retr you can see what visual you can expect from each single place, and it is good to remember that in some positions the view is very limited !!
