The performance is wonderful !! Very stuffy, uncomfortable seats. You can t take pictures, but everyone takes pictures. The hall is beautiful. The lobby is strange, as if plasterboard was painted with golden paint. In the boxes they sit on stools for a lot of money.

For opera's lovers 5 *. Frequent discounts on performances. Subscriptions. If you cannot go to the performance, be sure to go to the theater museum (to the left of the center entrance). You can see the exposition, the foyer and the theater auditorium itself (several boxes are open). The interiors of the theater are quite modest, but the content ...
The exposition of the museum: several beautiful halls, portraits of singers and composers, costumes, props, musical instruments, posters.

I attended a performance of Carmen in March 2015. I paid 144 euros for a third level box seat on the left. The music was wonderful but there was no view of the stage. This was extremely disappointing. I was in seat 4 of a box. The only people in the box who had views were the people in seats 1 and 2. I think it is very unfair that La Scala charges full price for tickets when it is impossible to see the stage from certain seats. These seats should be discounted. Also, they could add small videos in the boxes, next to the libretto monitor so that customers can at least see a picture of the stage.
We made the trip to Milan specifically to go to La Scala. Our trip was not ruined because the city has other attractions but the disappointment left a bitter memory.

If you want to go to La Scala I suggest that you buy tickets in person or by telephone. You can tell the box office that you only want tickets that provide a view of the stage. If you get seats 3, 4 or 5 be prepared to sit on an uncomfortable stool and to listen but not see anything.

After the renovation in 2005 it has once again become the most beautiful theater in the world! Possibility to find tickets in the galleries at very reduced prices, on the day of the performance, but it is necessary to arrive a few hours before at the ticket office of the theater itself.

Loved it

La Scala is La Scala, period!

La Scala is La Scala, period!
Magic theater, dream of every dancer, musician or singer.
Joy and pain of composers, librettists and choreographers.
Whistles, applause and ovations.
One feels already entered, the whole long life of the great theater, one relives and one is always excited.
Waiting for the next time.

The Teatro alla Scala, often referred to informally as "la Scala", is the main opera house in Milan. Considered as one of the most prestigious theaters in the world, it has hosted for 240 years the main artists in the international field of opera, and, more generally, of classical music, often commissioning works still present in the posters of the major theaters in the world.

This rating is for their museum, which was disappointing due to the fact that the entire circuit lasted 15 minutes and only consisted of paintings of famous composers. Also, we did not get to see the theater due to practice sessions. In my opinion, it is not worth it at all and your time and money should be spent elsewhere. Avoid!

It is certainly not necessary to explain why La Scala in Milan is the best for opera. And if you can see Leo Nucci's last career performance in the Rigoletto, you can't ask for more like melomaniac.
