Beer taps at the Opera Bar are in a bad way. Drink selection is poor (CUB contract) and tap maintenance results in a mediocre drink. The view is worth putting up with all of this! (Buy an Aguila in a bottle).

I reluctantly gave 4 stars here and wished I could of made it 4.5 stars. Let me start with we're the 1/2 star loss was. $10-$12 for a beer is just a little pricey. However the atmosphere of the Opera bar is simply breathtaking and veiws are spectacular. Soft music playing in the background as you sip on your wine or cocktails (beer in my case) The food was great and quick service, it is also open till a reasonable hour at night.

This is a great place to meet up. With the harbour as your backdrop and always something happening on the way from the quay station to the bar you are guaranteed to have a good time.

Fantastic views, food & drinks! Perfect for large groups- fast & friendly service. Efficient ordering & payment system using the phone which was great and worked well.
Only thing was the seagulls coming to eat leftovers but the staff were quick to come and collect our empty plates. We all left very satisfied and happy!

What do you get from an icons eatery? Usually eats about as reflective of the wonder of the icon, as Chinese made boomerangs are representative of our stunning aboriginal culture.
Here however, there is some correlation. The bennelong resto upstairs is a classy as a great aria, and about as expensive as 2 great seats. Here at the Opera Bar, you'll still pay a bit above the odds. The cover duo may not be Kiki dee and Elton, but they are a step up from most. The meals are as well put together as the e menu is covid sensitive. Sit back and relax, eat well made, quality ingredients, served pretty quick, as you watch the bridge climbers lose their lunch. Dinner served til after most shows finish their 4th encore.
It's a good meal in one of the words best spots.

The from this place is unmatched anywhere else in Sydney and is stunning everytime you see it, However, the bar leaves much to be desired. Everything is good but not great. The drinks are average and slightly over priced, but then I guess you are paying for the view. Having said that, this is one of the places I always get friends and family who visit from outside cause it certainly showcases what Sydney is all about. Luna Park glittering away, rows of lights from passing cars on Harbour Bridge and the majestic Opera House in the background, it almost always takes my breath away.

I usually go here often. With Covid restrictions I understand the menu isn't as extensive as usual but due to limited food options, this is my reason for 3 stars. The view is priceless... glad to see the large number of seagulls in the area isn't a problem anymore.

You go here for the view, the outdoor seating with the beautiful harbor behind you.
Its usually busy on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays, so getting a seat "can" be difficult.
Especially if you wanted to eat.

Right next door is a dedicated food restaurant with a lot more tables and its own bar.

Better moving slightly closer to the opera house and bridge and enjoying that extra room and variety.

Really good casual food with great drinks, wine list and cocktails. AND open late after the opera or a concert so you finish the night with style. Or it might just be chips and calamari (like tonight)

Go for the view, only the view. Drinks and food extremely pricey but then I guess you're really paying for the view of the harbour, bridge, luna park and that big white building with the sails...

You have to pay and place order at the bar and wait for order at your table.
Staff and kitchen is very fast with orders.
Decent selection of beers.
Have ordered two pizzas, chips, chicken satay, fried calamari, sweet potato fries. All food was decent, good size of portions.
Make sure you eat fast cuz food outside gets cold fast!
Everything was more than satisfying.
Outdoor seating area has heaters so you don't get cold.
80-100 dollars for 4people dinner I consider it as a low price for such location.
Live music was great as well!
Will definitely come back!

Stunning view!
The Harbour Bridge on one side and the Opera House on the other. Great for some relaxed drinks with friends or even on your own.

A must go if you're visiting Sydney when the weather is nice!

Stopped here for a quick drink before our Opera House tour. Busy spot with lots of tourists, but you re right smack dab next to the Opera House. Good drink choices and food as well. Order at the bar, and they will use geo-tracking to bring you your food wherever you choose to sit.

Opera Bar is that bar that you have to take your friends from out of town to. With sweeping views of the harbour and good local beers and nice cocktails. Although abit expensive it is well worth the atmosphere.

I went there on a weekday afternoon, so the place was almost empty. I could get the table of my choice with a great view of the Harbour bridge. After long walks through the city, I sat there with a beer and golden fried prawns immersed in the beauty of the place and just looking at the boats passing by.

Food was great and staff very friendly.

A treat
