They say VrijZorg Choice and Best Service, but you should soon forget that. I should have changed my declaration 7x, because it did not exactly according to their requirements. ONVZ is the WORST insurance I've ever dealt with. Especially for expats! Avoid! They refuse to reimburse your medicines and treatment. They tell clients different things by phone and by e-mail. I was trying to get my basic health insurance by ONVZ for 5 months! They were asking me for documentation, sending me to request the statement WLZ from the SVB, not replying to my email, pointing me to old mails and all in a circle again. I now have a new insurance company and got my health insurance within two weeks. Lucky nothing happened to me in those 5 months. Hope this is just my bad experience with ONVZ.

You will be treated as a dog after being a customer for 40 years. If you want to declare something or when you call you will be sent from the box to the wall and everyone will hide behind each other when there is a payment. Very bad policy conditions and get misinformed by ignorant staff, which will mislead you and give you big fat bills. 1 star is still too much !!!!

I have been affiliated with ONVZ to full satisfaction since 1987. Only the submission of claims is highly controversial. A claim can only be submitted for one care provider. Why not fill in several healthcare providers on the claim form as before. Moreover, it is ridiculous that you have to enter both the date of the outward and return journey. It is not usual to stay longer than one day with a specialist, physiotherapy, etc.

As a physio I did not have a contract with ONVZ last year. Because ONVZ opted for a so-called "physio-friendly" policy in 2019, I got stuck in it again and signed a contract. Doubted for months to post this but after another refused bill I've had enough. I've been with ONVZ since 2008 (12+ years) but the last 4 years they've just become an incredible hassle to deal with. Support is always nice and courteous but it's always a dead end. As an expat I even get regular doctor visits denied. I pay 200 EUR a month ( 2,400 a year mind you) for an extended insurance and so far they've re-imbursed 93 in medical cost. And you have no idea how many times I've followed up for that 93 EUR. They even wanted me to pay a translator cause the language of the bill wasn't supported while it was pretty clear the name of the medication was the same as the the one that's on the obligatory list of the dutch government. Meanwhile they talked themselves out of paying 800 euro for a shingles treatment and now a doctors visit for a corona test. I've had enough. I'll be ending my insurance with them and warn everybody to stay for away.
My kids will probably need braces next year. Appointment made in January. Everything was properly reported to ONVZ and asked to change the policy. Refused due to foreseeability. SHAME. Of course, most teenagers get braces. Am I so honest that indicated I am refused. Thank you ONVZ!
I don't often post reviews, but this insurer makes it so colorful that I have posted something anyway. The services provided by this insurer have deteriorated enormously in recent times. People used to think along with you, now every contact with customer service is a dead end. See the name Melvin Besselink mentioned more often in the comments; I also have bad experiences with letters addressed to me as an insured person on his behalf. ONVZ appears to be committed to a policy of rejecting complaints. This worked for me, I will switch to another insurer before 2021. Too bad to see a company destroying itself like this (for profit?)
