Laptime Storytime on Thursday mornings is wonderful! Ms. Jen who leads it is so interactive and super sweet. It's a free program so all you have to do is show up. A great way to get out of the house and get some socializing time in for you and your little one.

We've been very happy with programs and books available here. Staff has been helpful and I've taken advantage of online holds and renewals. I like the variety of programs they offer and my kids enjoy going weekly to their local library.
I do wish the check out period was longer than 2 weeks. 20cent late fee per book/per day seems steep compared to other places I've lived (and on base libraries there are no late fees). .
Video selection is nice but $1 rental for only 2 days, and a $1/day late fee discourages me from wanting to rent any.

Overall Onslow county library system is highly recommended and interesting to enjoy. Have a book or movie checked out.
Although it seems like the staff may be rude, they're not. The limited staff for this branch and the turnover of clients they serve, a smile will go a long way.
It may seem ridiculous to ask for proof of address, but resident doesn't count. Every address in the city has one. I know you should be proud to ensure you're bringing in the proper documents to receive a library card. It's more for your protection, remember?
I want to say thank you ladies and gentlemen who work at the library. They've helped me in research, and laws. Not counting entertainment reading. Keep up the great work.

This is a really good library which offers alot of great programs for children. Many of the programs are free. The library is clean, organized, and I like going there.
I have used the main branch many times, and find the staff to be friendly and helpful. However, I listen to audio books when I drive, and have requested a certain author verbally as well as in writing, several times over the past 4 years, and the person in charge of acquiring books (Either through ordering, or from other branches) has never ordered this series. The author is a best selling author, so people other than myself would check them out. But this individual refuses to add them to the collection.
Also, even though the website says the location (Doris Dr) is open, I went there yesterday, early afternoon, and it was closed, and had a sign on the door saying closed until further notice.
I usually go to Richlands library because it's closer to my home. I was there the other day and the girl at the counter mentioned she's usually working at this location and I said I'd check it out. I love that the hours are longer as we usually like to go in the evenings after the kids get home from school. We love checking out movies and there's a huge selection. Everyone is always very friendly as well
Biased because I work here, OCPL tons of benefits! Literally thousands electronic resources, public computers, dozens of programs for infants all the way to adults free to attend! As well as 4 locations through the county!
They have amazing children programs. The gentleman over the events (at least the main guy we see) is AMAZING.
We LOVE the library! The main OCPL branch has a wonderful staff that take care of their patrons! The programs for kids are entertaining and well put together by their youth services staff.
Note: Changed from a 1 to a 3 star because I did enjoy most of their programs for children and their families for free/fairly cheap and staff are pretty friendly & helpful any other time.
Disputed charges that had never gotten back to me about. After multiple attempts to reconcile my account I was unable to renew my material without going in which caused me to accrue late charges. I made the staff aware of the damages of the book beforehand and they set it aside but I was still charged. After multiple attempts I finally had it reconciled but they still charged me late charges for not being able to renew my books on hand. I made them aware of this.. They gave me a hard time about all of this. They have ALOT of damaged books so please be aware, check them and make sure they make the notes onto the account before you leave the library.

This is a great resource for families with young children. The children's programs are fun and interactive. We love to visit on a weekly basis.
Wish the proctors were free, but good library nonetheless :-) I've had nothing but great customer service!
Not a good experience. Only 4 computers were running. Waited ten minutes for lady to help me because my card number was not being accepted only to be told to go to the front desk. Lady at front was very helpful.
I try to do work at home but often get distracted.. the library offers me a great quite place to get focused, find information, and stay online.
This is the library that my Mom took me and my siblings to when we were children. I have good memories here, but some staff are not professional or friendly. I was just there today to print off a document and 2 women behind the front desk were laughing and talking loudly. I thought libraries were supposed to be quiet? I'm so glad that I don't come here anymore to use the wifi or computers because of the unprofessionalism shown by some staff. I've also complained about guests being too noisy in the past, and they haven't done much about it.
My family loves the library! My children know just about all the children's librarians by name and all of them have taken the time to show a personal interest in my children. They have wonderful programs for kids of all ages even the teens. They have a lot of great family events that are perfect for kids. They work hard to make the library a fun and interesting place for kids. With so many electronic options they do a great job incorporating it into the programs. My kids love the tumble books and eBooks online as well. The programs at the library are a great way to get your children interested in books!
They have the lowest priced colored copies in town. I always go to the library for colored copies! They have large selection of books and if they don't have it in they can get it from one of the other branches in Onslow county. Everyone is always friendly and kind. They have clean restrooms and the overall look of the building is neat and up to date. I only wish they would build a larger library in Jacksonville. It definitely gets crowded often.
I didnt like this library at all, the staff wasnt friendly or helpful at all, they had very bad attutides and a bad vibe, i guest if was that i came in to the library with my "white" boyfriend.... Thats to show u that racisitism is still alive and is still here in 2018.... Grow up and get over it, i was so uncomfortable with all the nasty stares like i had did something wrong, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LIBRARY AGAIN.
A wonderful learning environment for the whole family.
This library has many new titles (books) but needs additional copies of newer dvd's...too long of a waiting list with only 1 copy.
I would love to help out, volunteer in any capacity....story time, short skits, cultural awareness..maybe some intercultural programs could be ongoing with the appropriate holidays and celebrations.
Overall, a fine, well structured library with many dedicated workers and great updated materials.
Could you possibly aquire some new music CD's, for us dinosaurs who still play CD's???
Wonderful little library! Perfect place to read or study
Started new printing machine...it is slow and ineffective. Employees are rude and seem irritated to answer questions. There is also no way to copy or scan items anymore, this library is far behind the times
The staff is very helpful. I like how its a library when there are kids that come in and are kind of loud, I've never seen the staff hush them like most librarians. They make everyone feel welcomed.
