Beautiful example of Gold Coast living. The mansion, which is named Westbury House and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is being restored carefully and lovingly, but will not be open to the public until November 2019. The outdoor areas are exquisite. One of my photos shows the pool behind the mansion from an upper terrace. Built in 1906 as the country estate of John Phipps and his wife Margarita. I will return to see the artwork furniture, mirrors, and other collections when the mansion reopens. The gardens, refecting pools, and sculptures are not to be missed now and through the fall.

We visited the mansion and gardens over Memorial Weekend, on our way to the Hamptons. The property is beautiful and extremely well-kept. We meandered through the gardens on our own but were fortunate to join a tour of the mansion just as it started. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and I enjoyed listening to both the historical facts and his personal favorites about the property. Would definitely recommend stopping by the home, especially in peak bloom seasons.

Loved it. Note that currently listed street address is incorrect. It must be "Old Westbury, NY" (not "Westbury, NY"). My GPS navigator led me into wrong place (about 10 minutes of driving from actual location) because they have two streets with the same name in both Westbury and Old Westbury.

Beautiful and peaceful. The mansion was still under repair at the time of this review so we weren't able to go in. But the grounds are gorgeous. Even terrible amateur photographers will come out with some great looking shots at this place.

This historical gardens in Long Island is worth a visit regardless of its entrance fee $10/adult and $6/senior citizen, even if the House is under renovation, you can t get in the Mansion / Museum at the moment due to its refurbishment. But once the restoration is done, this Old Westbury Gardens will even be more gorgeous than ever! The gardens look very British. You can walk around the park with your dog for as long as it has leashed on. This Park is ideal for family as well. Children can run around the green meadows, there are no children s playground though, haven t seen one. But taking a stroll in this Garden Park is indeed invigorating. In Autumn, the flowers are mostly Chrysanthemums in colours of golden yellow, golden orange, magenta, light pink...so lovely all around the park. The Rose garden is gorgeous but roses are not in bloom anymore but imagine in summer when roses are at its peak. Could have been more lovely to take photos. I can highly recommend this serene place for people who wants to get away from the hustle and hustle of the big city. Always worth your time and effort.

This place being wooded one can visit even in hot weather. Its speciality are the sculptures of Jerzy Kedziora that are suspended from trees that move with the breeze. On the day we went, the mansion was under renovation and hence we couldn't see its interiors that is supposed to have lot of antiques. Hence I have given only four stars. A guide patiently the features of various sculptures. Nice green place to relax over weekend

Came here for the Halloween Jack-O-Lantern display which was such a spectacular display of artistic talent mixed with the ghoulish feel of Halloween in the night air. The grounds here are beautiful and my plan is to come back in the spring to take it all in under different circumstances. Definitely worth a visit.

Severly overpriced for nothing impressive. Entrance is narrow, enough space for 1 car at a time. Gets very backed up. Cannot go to any event without paying before you park, in a dirt lot that gets muddy fast, and is a far walk from where the event is held. Don't waste your time or money.

Absolutely beautiful grounds to behold. So many beautiful species of flowers to see in a gorgeous setting. The size of the grounds is hard to imagine but you always feel like you can find a tranquil spot to be alone. Also one of the most spectacular walled gardens on the east coast exist here. One last note that I might do myself next time I visit. I saw some people bring a table, chairs, food and wine and they found a quiet spot alone and enjoyed a picnic. Perfect place for it. Also great place for wedding photos. Watched a young couple and their wedding party doing that also.

Very beautiful and peaceful place.

Very beautiful and peaceful place.
Pros:
- beautifully kept park and flower garden
- not very crowded
Cons:
- not very stroller or wheelchair friendly
- in a flight path of a nearby JFK means a lot of low flying planes

Pretty outdoor area. The gardens do an amazing job with maintaining the landscape and keeping everything so pleasing to the eye. The trails are beautiful. We came during the summer and caught an afternoon concert. Such a delight. We heard that they have a Jack-o Lantern festival just in time for the fall.

They have free tours of the mansion - last about 45 min. Or you can wander yourself - they have some notes in each of the rooms with descriptions.

The mansion and grounds are kept up very nicely.
There's various different areas - open and grass, wooded and forest-like, as well as a some specifically planted areas like the rose garden, pond, and the paths between them.
There's benches scattered about the gardens so you can sit and just enjoy the serenity. Tons of tree lined lawns to stroll about as well.

They have a garden shop and a small cafe as well.
