A great place for a romantic picnic and a walk. The museum in the center of the property is quite nice and gives insight into what luxury living looked like many decades ago. This place is also nice for young active kids because there is a lot of soft green lawn space for them to roam around and explore.

I havent been to other old mansions on LI so I cant compare, but I will say that we came here when the home was closed for repair and the grounds alone were well worth the entry fee. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look

It was OK but for the price it was over pretty quick and it didn't have the wow-factor I expected. The pumpkin carvings were top notch but after seeing a few of them it got repetitive. I expected some sort of over-the-top grand finale display that you'd go home talking about - but no. This was anti-climactic & before you knew it... you were at the exit.

My third visit....magnificent estate includes over 70 acres of landscaped formal gardens plus informal as well. Westbury House is currently closed for the roof renovation project. There are 45 minute guided tours of the garden at 2pm.
Great opportunities for photography of extraordinary plantings. The gorgeous wisteria was brightly on display at my visit.

If you need to breathe, this is the place! You must sit in quiet area by the Garden Cafe. The food is fresh with homemade taste from sandwiches to desserts. You will eat slower and be healthier for it. Need I say, I Love this place, my happy place.

If You Love Beautiful Gardens It's a Must See.
Go on a weekday for a more quiet experience without a lot of other people around.
The Cafe in the Woods has great sandwiches and good coffee.

Horrible people run this place!! I asked BEFORE I bought the tickets and they said the tour met at the house. Then the SEVEN employees that were standing around said that I missed the the tour... Then there was no tour... Then come back later... Then they literally told me to just get my money back.

To boot there were no flowers visible without the tour on June... The whole thing was so disappointing....

And the house is completely closed. Another fun fact I was not told at time of purchase...

Grand old house and beautiful gardens. I'm surprised that I've never been to this great location here on Long Island. The mansions I've visited so far have only been on the north or south shores.

The home itself is interesting enough to warrant a tour, and our docent/tour guide was very knowledgeable about the physical attributes and the original owners, the Phipps. They had it built in 1903 and lived there from 1907 till 1957.

Beautiful grounds. Enjoyable during the warmer months, but always very pretty during fall. They often have seasonal events. Check them out on their website. Definitely worth a trip for the day

It was really disappointing this year. There were no elaborate or exciting displays like years past. There were a few intricately carved pumpkins but the rest were below average pumpkins that looked like they were carved by children. No spooky music. Just awful this year!

It was awesome actually but a taxi driver and a lady (fellow passenger) said that this house was filmed in "The Shining" a horror movie. Then I felt awful and creepy regardless of beautiful house and garden. Straight away I googled it, but what the hell... there was nothing related!!!!!!!! Whoever hear this kind of nonsense, just let it go.

A large but exquisite manor house, the old house is maintained as new, the interior arrangement preserves the life scene of the wealthy family that year, the luxury reveals elegance, and many oriental antique collections are surprising. If it happens, there will be a free summer classical music concert in the huge sunlight hall on the side of the building. It's nice to sit in the shade and listen to the cold. The garden is also full of exotic atmosphere. There are exquisite Hechi ring corridors, fragrant rose gardens, bridges, and ancient woods. In front of the old house there is a vast expanse of greenery for tourists to barbecue or picnic. Tickets are based on people's prices, summer is best to come early, parking will be very crowded. In short, it is a manor house that is worth visiting and will not feel boring at all.

Magnificent gardens and mansion. Even in late summer the roses are still blooming and the grounds are vibrant with life. Do not miss the temple of love on the lake trail and the views from the back of the mansion are spectacular. Weekly musical performances also occur to add for a wonderful weekend amidst such a beautiful backdrop. Dont forget you camera and some water for the hot afternoons.

Huge park, i had the chance to visit it at night for an Halloween event. I think it's an annual event, there is the exposition of plenty of carved pumpkins made by different artists. Very nice Halloween atmosphere, with music and you can buy food too, if you like

The Seward sculpture exhibit (until Laboratory Day) is not to be missed. These life size sculptures are all around the estate and are a joy to see. Picnic areas under the trees and a cafe is available. A gem.

Beautiful place but the Rise of the Jackolanterns was not great compared to years before. It was if I drove around my neighborhood to see carved pumpkins. No music or grand figurines built using the pumpkins. Waste of money. Hope they bring back the event to prior years.

A great place to visit . My second visit in a week . The whole family adores the place . I love the fact that the home is over 100 years old . The furniture makes you feel like it is 1850 . We will definitely return soon . Our last visit we brought 2 guests . A doctor from Ukraine and a great polish ambassador.
