Cute little theatre. Access to the stalls from the sides of the building. Saw the American clock here. Great production if slightly on the long side!

I love the productions here - 1st rate acting. The theatre itself is going to have entrance, loos, eating area and bar renovated soon. This will make it a top Theatre. Can't wait!
Christmas Carol - awesome.fragrances, brilliant acting, amazingly evocative
The theatre was really beutiful on the inside. The play was an interesting one about the life of a 19th century family that goes through some difficulties. Would recommend it.
Beautiful 200 year theatre. Full of history and traditionally authentic decor.
A Christmas Carol was apsolutale great and the side effects were amazing
Lovely theatre. Very convenient from Waterloo station.
An historic landmark. Great for shows and the Pit underneath stays going until the small hours.
Wonderful adaptation of Xmas Carol. Always good productions very diverse and entertaining. The building although one of the older theatres in London is interesting and has a very cosy atmosphere.
A Christmas Carol was a truly wonderful experience. Something for everyone. Oranges, brussel sprouts, potatoes and turkey!
Pretty old theatre. Not cheap, food isn't great, space is cramped, but the theatre itself is lovely. Easy to get to. Staff was great.
Lovely place but very busy and it doesn't allow bookings for drinks only either via website or phone
I like this place. Really enjoyed watching A very Expensive Poison.
Great theatre with an as great company putting on productions here. The bar upstairs is very relaxed and a great place for a Hix Fix and downstairs has a good selection of food and drinks.
I ve been to this beautiful theatre a number of times and have never been disappointed.
Great productions, excellent acoustics and lighting. The auditorium is not very big, so you get a good view of the stage from pretty much any seat (although it does feel quite compact inside).
The only issue before the show and during the intervals is the Ladies facilities it is simply too small which usually creates long queues.
I've only ever had wonderful experiences at this marvellous place. It's definitely not run of the mill, with challenging plays and the top notch acting you'd expect from a place with a reputation such as the Old Vic has.
Lovely fascinating building. Classes are run on a regular basis encouraging anyone interested in arts.
Went to see A Monster Calls. Had been upgraded because there were lots of school groups (not complaining, but who did they think the target audience was...?) Comfy seats, good view, great acoustics. Super experience!
The Divide was a weird interesting play with the separation of the men and women. Too long
The atmosphere in this 200 year old beauty was unforgettable. The play we saw and the actors were stunning. It was "a Monster calls". The concept with Bar and Drinks was highly enjoyable.
A wonderful theatre currently with Kevin Spacey as its director. He chooses an eclectic range of plays and has appeared in some too.
I have been there several times, once on a whim on New Year's Eve. The productions are always very well cast; written and acted.
It is opposite one of London's most unknown areas - the Cut, just behind Waterloo station with lots of retro and specialist shope.
I would recommend a visit to the Old Vic and area as getting to know London but from a Londoner's perspective.
Went to see a Christmas Carol it was absolutely stunning thoroughly enjoyed it highly recommended British theatre at its best
What s wonderful civilised theatre , lots of leg room, plenty if bars, plentiful toilets too.
One of my favourite theatres.... show was good too.
Wonderful theatre, which with Kevin Spacey at the helm has continued to bring consistently high quality plays. Almost impossible to get a bad seat, even day seats offer a fantastic view. Highly recommend catching a show here, whether you call London home for many years or just a few days.
Great theatre, good value and some amazing productions.
Excellent selection of cocktails and spirits, effecient and friendly service
This is a review of the theatre itself, not the plays performed there. Overall the theatre is lacking some maintenance, but it is well equipped so the plays' scenes are usually well presented.
Pros: Great atmosphere, well equipped stage, plays are usually wonderful and effects well executed
Cons: Seating not well looked after, chairs and seats are crooked, rows of seats very tightly packed
Excellent performances, interesting displays and easy to find
Really good,
Went with my school to see a Christmas carol and with excellent.
Definitely would recommend to other friends and family.
Great theatre, such history but still putting on amazing shows.
Also a lovely place to have a drink
Always surprising. I love how this theatre transforms itself for each production. A Christmas Carol with Stephen Tompkinson was a treat that lifted any post Christmas blues.
Saw the Endgame here. The venue itself was beautifully decorated. However, seats condition can be improved.
Love visiting the old Vic , great shows , decent bar , and friendly staff.
Watched The American Clock, courtesy of cheap tickets from TimeOut. Great seats from seats Q13&14. It's a cute theatre. Possibly a bit chilly on a wintry night (so take warm layers).
Great shows here! Nothing much to say about the venue
Always a good night! Very friendly staff and (mostly) reasonable prices.
Had an excellent time watching Present Laughter here for my birthday. We pre-ordered drinks for the interval which where waiting for us, staff were helpful and kind. Would come again and will recommend to friends
Air conditioning and a good selection of food and drinks. If you're looking for a meal, try Tas, the Greek place in the arches down the street.
Lovely cosy theatre easy accessible from Waterloo tube and rail stations.
One of the best theatres in town with great productions and an amazing building
Beautiful theatre but please don't be quite so enthusiastic with the air conditioning. Two ladies in front of me together with the gentleman sitting beside me, had to put coats on this afternoon as the ice cold air was blowing straight down the side of our necks .
Need to get some ventilation to deal with the intense heat on the top tier but thoroughly great experience and fantastic staff
Nice little theatre. Bring your own snacks though because it is expensive.
Watched Sea Wall here -- great venue and even the restricted seats are actually pretty good. We met Andrew Scott outside the stage exit on the left afterwards.
Beautiful old theatre. A little expensive but certainly worth it considering the talent on show!
#A Christmas Carol #Stephen Tomlinson #handbells Just one of the most fantastic, beautiful plays I have ever enjoyed at Christmas
Lovely old theatre. Saw Arthur Miller play which was very good but rather long. Seats are uncomfortable and too close together.
Went to see a christmas carol here. The production was amazing.
Amazing theatre with consistently high quality performances. Quirks: there are normally two intervals and there are always very high ticket prices.
I've seen several shows here and never disappoints.
Theatre based slightly away from the West End near Waterloo. It has a very good reputation for putting on new plays or re-interpreting 'classics'. Almost everything it puts on is worth seeing. In late 2019 still undergoing refurbishment which means that the loos are currently inconveniently outside and awkward to access.
Was at the Old Vic Saturday Night. A Christmas Carol was brilliantly performed and the atmosphere etc was amazing. We were in the stalls and had a really good view of the actors and the stage as seat rows were tiered so that you could see everything very clearly
A wonderful production of Scrooge. Rhys Ifans was amazing as Scrooge.
This venue is accessible for wheelchair users. There is a separate entrance round the back with a ramp to get up a couple of steps. However, the ramp is too steep to be able to get up without any assistance. There is a bay for a wheelchair, although I would have preferred to transfer to a seat (not sure if this was an option). Staff were helpful, introducing themselves and very informative. There is an accessible toilet not too far. The performance was good and the wheelchair spot is quite close to the front so had good views too.
A real gem of the south bank, putting on some of the best-loved shows with outstanding casts. So worth the ticket prices and the fight to get seats!
Went to see Christmas carol absolutely brilliant. Seating adequate could do with more toilets
Current renovations meant that there were no toilets in the building and we had to queue for a portaloo outside. They are putting lifts in, so it will be worth it I'm sure. My less able companions thought that they should have closed the theatre for a few months rather than put people through this. At the matinee performance we attended of All My Sons the experience was ruined by parties of teenaged school children who sat in the wrong seats, ate hot food, made phone calls, fought, laughed and argued all the way through. I would rather have had my money back at that point.
Can't think of anything bad about the theatre which I last visited to see 'Playboy of the Western World'.
Watched a Christmas Carol and it was jaw dropping! The best theatre I've seen in years, the cast were exceptional, the music fantastic and the experience to die for. The hospitality was on point too. Given it is so close to Waterloo this is my favourite theatre in London hands down. I will be recommending this theatre and particularly this production to everybody!
Loved the theatre and the show "A Very Expensive Poison"
Great show. Very good education team. Highly recommended.
Cosy well-known theatre just ten minutes from southbank and Waterloo station. Don't worry if you book tickets in the upper levels since the distribution of the seating is really well done and you'll still see the stage. Make sure you visit the last floor since it has old pictures of actors and actresses like Kevin Spacey.
