The apartment is good due to the location of the area. However, I believe that if the manger took care of the individuals needs in terms of the cleaning of place and addressing their issues then it would benefit all. Most importantly I feel as though that stores that are near by the apartments is really good cause their is a laundry mat and grocery store near by.

We've been leasing with them for 7 years and never had a negative experience. They are extremely fair with rent prices and raising rents when renewing. We had a lot of uncertainty with timing the end of our lease, and they were very generous with allowing us to do a couple short term leases to bridge the gap even though it meant more work and bad seasonal timing for them. Although the rents are somewhat higher than neighboring buildings, the reason is that the quality of the apartments is higher. I should also mention that Mike's maintenance team is impeccable. For example, one time I mentioned in passing that the apartment was a little cold, and the guys were there within 3 hours to work on the radiator.

Lived here for six months and could not have been happier. The staff, from front office to the maintenance personnel, were all top notch and wonderful to interact with. It was incredibly convenient being equal distance to both the Bryn Mawr and Thorndale red line stops (about 5 minutes each), although being right next to the tracks can be noisy if you are on that side of the building. Rooms were small and showed their age at some points, but were comfortable and maintained very well. Leasing was very flexible; I started with a short term lease, was given the same rate as a year lease, and was able to extend it by two months with no problem.

Wow...they will tell you alot of things which are not true to try to get you in. But once when you're in, you find out that MANY OF THE THINGS THEY SAID WERE LIES! The manager of the building is a money greedy shark! No common courtesy! Stay away at all costs!

A truly excellent property

A truly excellent property

Ardmore Winthrop are so great! All the staff have been very nice and accommodating. Maintenance is so awesome and Mike is the nicest person who is always available. Tracy in the admin office is the nicest person and multi-talented. All my friends are jealous because I live in a place where my issues are addressed with earnestness. Can't recommend enough.

I've rented with several different companies across multiple states, and Ardmore Winthrop has far and away surpassed every other experience I've had. The entire office staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating to the needs of their tenants. Because my unit was situated in an older building, I had a couple of maintenance problems that needed immediate assistance. Ardmore Winthrop fixed the problems immediately and went above and beyond to offer additional accommodations if I wanted them. The company does little things, too, to make tenants feel right at home, such as by decorating the apartment buildings for different holidays and by offering free laundry as a holiday gift to tenants. Edgewater is a great neighborhood too, located just blocks away from the lake and close to the Red Line, bars, restaurants, etc., while still maintaining a low-key, residential feel. I can't say enough good things about the company or about Edgewater, and if I end up back in Chicago, I will absolutely rent with Ardmore Winthrop again.

I've lived in two Ardmore Winthrop properties since moving to Chicago. The folks at the leasing office are great and maintenance does a good job of keeping everyone happy. Rent is a little high, but the units have lots of space and great included amenities.

When I was hunting for apartments in Chicago from ...

When I was hunting for apartments in Chicago from another state, unable to view any of the apartments, I had luck with Tracy Scantlon. Tracy, one of the managers, of the buildings took time to do a live tour with me and provide a video tour as well. When I said how little I made she still allowed me to live here, granted a partial cosign.

And when times got tough and I realized that my time here in Chicago would come to a sudden halt, Tracy was open to hearing me out and revisiting the 12 month lease (with 6 months still left on the lease). Needless to say, I will be leaving soon due to their remarkable kindness and consideration of my circumstance. I am grateful to have found Tracy and the Ardmore Winthrop Properties!

I've lived at one of their apartment buildings for eight years. Why?

1. Rent for my building includes utilities and high-speed internet.
2. The building is old but very clean and well-maintained.
3. Nothing has ever been broken.
4. No pests.
5. The building is plenty warm in the winter.
6. Neighbors are friendly and quiet. I rarely see them.
7. The office receives packages on your behalf. There's no need to leave work early.
8. Exteriors and lobbies are decorated and there are bowls of candy for every holiday.
9. At the end of the year, laundry is free.
10. Management sends personalized birthday cards and Christmas cards.
11. Management and the staff are very nice.
12. AMAZING neighborhood:
- FOUR major grocery stores within 1.5 miles (Aldi, Jewel-Osco, Mariano's and Whole Foods).
- 24/7 Walgreens.
- Between two Red Line stops (Bryn Mawr and Thorndale).
- Two blocks to the beach and lakefront trail.
- One block from Lake Shore Drive.
- One block from 36 Broadway, 84 Peterson, 136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, 151 Sheridan, and 147 Outer Drive Express.
- Many restaurants and small businesses nearby.

I feel very fortunate to live here. I couldn't be happier.

I lived for short term lease for classes I was doing, and I thought it was perfect size for me ( I lived on my own). I didn't bring my car cause parking either you have to do in the street which is hit or miss or in the parking garage BUT you have to have a compact car to fit. I took the train everywhere. The neighborhood was great and little shops and cafes around and the train station was less than a block away. I chose the unfurnished studio but they have furnished options as well. The staff was great and were always super helpful, I never really had any problems with my unit except one time my outlet wasn't working and they fixed right away. My neighbors were all quiet, no one ever really bothers anyone, I highly recommend and for the price is not bad with utilities included and washer/dryer downstairs.

Excellent location, friendly and attentive landlor...

Excellent location, friendly and attentive landlords. These are vintage buildings that have been updated, with much of the charm and character preserved.

The rent seems higher than usual, but you get a lot for the money in active maintenance and repair. In my building the rent also includes heat, gas, electricity, water, trash, and internet. The owners are on location, and Mike the engineer/repair guy clearly loves the buildings and knows his stuff.

There are a lot of regulations, but I really appreciate that they're clearly stated and
enforced. Most deal with preventing bed bugs and making sure pets are good citizens. Having had to deal on my own with loud dogs in other places, I'm glad these folks are active in dealing with this. Their laundry rooms are clean, pleasant, and well maintained. I may never move again!
