Great day out with the family! Good food, nice shop.
Great day out with the family! Good food, nice shop.
Pricey but cute to support something historical. Fun for all ages
Slightly high admission fee, it seems we payed for the investment in keeping our history rather than the tour itself.
The "characters" were very knowledgeable and entertaining
The 1830's relived. I have to say there were a lot of school field trips that day. Lots of little ones running around.
If you didn't go here as a kid, what have you really done?!? Awesome place.
Absolutely amazing place. You must go here. Great to go alone, with a partner, or with the family. So many activities here and so many beautiful and nice things to see. And everyone is so knowledgeable.
Amazing trip to the past. Great for kids and adults alike.
This is an interesting pioneer village. Educational and interesting lots of walking though for mobility challenged.
The experience here was wonderful. Such a lovely place to walk around and talk to the very knowledgeable employees of the site about how the buildings were used in yesteryear. The best bit was being able to pull up carrots in one of the farm plots whilst talking to a very knowledgeable young lady about crops and how they would be rotated and stored.
We happened upon this location as a random stop on our road trip. Was very happy with it and loved stepping back in time. We went sitting the off season so I could imagine how good it would be during peak.
A great place for class trips and families who want a bit of history
This is the best living museum around and there is always something different every season
Meh. Food was alright though. It was kind of boring. My kids thought the water wheel was a ride, and were very disappointed. In my opinion, they should add some rides, and my family would go there over and over again.
My wife and I love this place. We can't wait to take our daughter when we visit from florida one day!
Fun place for the whole family. I've been in the Spring and around Christmas. Both times are lovely and very educational.
This is a piece of history. A town from the early 1800's with people to interpret what life was like back then.
Dont ware good shoes. A great family place for kids to run around and the whole family to enjoy.
A lovely, scenic walk back into history. The re-enactors are quite knowledgeable about the old homes, gardens and crafts of Old Sturbridge Village. It's a beautiful place to spend the day, while learning.
Exceptional experience. Staff very knowledgeable and infomative on the history of the different interactive displays. Great place for a family fun day.
Sturbridge village is absolutely beautiful while it was never truly a village in the sense that the park was the center of town. They've taken buildings and history from all of Massachusetts and in fact all of New England to create something magical. There's something here for everyone.
Not as many people explaining things as I would have liked
Very nice living museum with constant activities and informed and courteous staff. Well done and worth a trip. It's not an amusement park, you need to be an active participant to enjoy this place. Love it. Great fireworks too on special occasions.
The grounds are so nice, the interpreters are friendly and knowledgeable, and I learn something new every time.
Going back more than 200 years in time is wonderful.
Went to Christmas by Candlelight. Would highly recommend!
It is such a nice place to walk around during all the seasons. The staff is very friendly and the grounds are beautiful!! I love going here.
Awesome, Candlelight Christmas was so beautiful!!
Very nice park. Looks authentic. Very committed 'residents' who keep their role well and know a lot about life in New England in the 19th century.
Great experience, nice job getting the 1830's authentic feel. Food was reasonably priced. Thanks for supporting our troops and veterans with discounts.
Excellent walk into the past. The reenactors are very knowledgeable and generally hard at work wether it be smithing, throwing pottery, or cooking. There are boat and carriage rides. There are two restaurants, a general store, and a gift shop. Been going here all my life, have never been disappointed.
Love this place. Been there a couple times. Well set up, knowledgeable staff. Really had a great time
Something for everyone. Our entire group enjoyed the day
Great place to visit. They offer discount for veterans
Just as I remember 40 years ago I love this place,!
Went on a nice fall day. Bought a season pass as I plan to come back on occasion as I live nearby. Always something going on here when you go. Shows us how life was in 1830's. Highly recommended!!!
Great spot to learn some history about how the early settlers lived. Life was definitely a lot slower then!
if you really want to step back in time this place is perfect! everything is so beautiful. the buildings are wonderfully preserved and you really feel like youre stepping back in time in this little village. the food in the resturant is really delicious. beautiufl place to visit in the fall, and the price is pretty good! worth spending the day there!
Very nice place to visit with your family. Kids are free for August with a purchase of a adult ticket. There are some extra things like river boat ride, horse carriage ride, you can do but you have to pay extra for those they're not included with ticket price. Which I was very disappointed with! Also for$12.00 a person you can watch something on Charlotte's Web at the 11am showing and if you miss that time it then goes up to $14.00 at 1pm. You watch the show from wooden benches right in the sun... Not really something I'm going to pay extra for a family of 4 to do. If it wasn't for paying for extras I would have given Old Sturbridge Village a 5 stars rating.
Awesome place...everyone is in character and very knowledgeable! Definitely leave enough time to explore because the place is pretty big. Definitely heading back soon to visit the places we missed!
Very good living history demo for current covid days.
great historical place went back after many years loved it !
Fascinating village of how people lived when they 1st came over from Europe. Take plenty of pics
It's been over 30 years since I've been there. As an adult I have a new appreciation for this place. This was a great experience.
So much fun. Close to authentic. Houses and barns, workshops, animals, great staff with so much to share. Great little store with items to purchase for all.
It was a nice day for going, and their partnership with tower garden made it very cheap to go to, almost 80$ less. Sadly, there was not much to do today.
A lovingly designed open-air museum. Definitely worth seeing.
Went for the Sunday brunch and it was excellent! The food was both good and fresh. They rotated in new platters of food into the buffet frequently, I didn't see anything run out while I was there, they kept on top of all that. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. It was my first time at their brunch buffet, my husband and I were there celebrating our one year anniversary with his aunt and uncle. It was an excellent choice, I'm really glad we went there to celebrate.
Have you ever wanted to go back in the past in a time machine? Well, Old Sturbridge Village will take you back to life in the 1800's. You'll not only see how life was, but you'll get to experience it. They have wonderful exhibitions of sheep shearing, wool dying (you can purchase the yarn in the gift shop), blacksmithing, tin work and pottery (both of those can also be purchased). You see all sorts of examples of life in the 1800's. They also have horse drawn carriage rides and boat rides. There are also interactive games for children to take part in. Very enjoyable time for the entire family.
Ate at the tavern Sunday buffet. Food was excellent, service was ok. Price was good. Really enjoyed the meal.
The reinactors were so knowledgeable and answered questions readily during Christmas By Candlelight.
It was such a nice experience walking around and seeing all of the old shops and ways of living. Went on a field trip here with my son's class, and my son and his friend really enjoyed being able to ask questions and seeing the workers dressed up according to their job and performing their assigned duties.
My wife and I visited Old Sturbridge Village for the first time over this Christmas season. It was an awesome experience!! From the delicious old style food at the Bullard Tavern, the ride in the horse drawn wagon, the Christmas tree walk, the old houses with period furniture to name just a few experiences brought us back into the 1800's. We will be back. An unforgettable experience. All the people who worked there were extremely talented and were enjoyable to be around. We learned a lot from then and they are the major reason we would go back.
Marc and Sharon Frigon
A totally different experience! Makes you think how lucky you are to live in a society where everything is readily available at your neighborhood supermarket. You can see for yourself how they lived in early ages. There's real people dressed in old time clothes doing what people used to do back then. There are people to explain and give you some history about the times they represent. Very educational and interesting. Buildings are made to portray how the architecture was back then. It's a proper village. You can see the bank, the church, the cemetery, the farm and a lot of other places within this village. A must see!
Very interesting place, the tour was good, the clock museum: Awesome.
Grew up coming here and I still love visiting. I wish they had better changing tables but the events are wonderful!
Beautiful place. There is lots to learn, and you learn something new every time you go.
Great job interpreting the 1830s. People are fantastic!
Nice, you can look at it, but you don't have to. It is lovingly made and the "residents" show how people lived here. But we were a little disappointed. Fortunately, it's not that expensive.
Unfortunately you cant go in any of the buildings. That was a disappointment.
Beautiful 18th Century Village Reproduction ... Just Beautiful with the Lanterns along the paths and the Bon Fire to cozy up too in the center of the square with a nice cup of hot cider
This was our first family expedition since the start of the pandemic and it was fantastic! They are really doing an amazing job with Covid-19 protocols and it was not crowded, even on a weekend. The staff were very engaging as always and the kids loved it. Highly recommended!
We have been members for several years. This time I went for Dog Day where members are allowed to bring their dogs. There are many rules governing this. My dog loved it. It was a fun different place to walk. Disappointed that there was no outside water available since you could not bring dogs inside.
Beautiful place where they moved a very old whole village with all the figures in original clothes that do the work before. There is even a sawmill with a working water mill
