My fiance and I went last night to Old Republic Kitchen and Bar, first time! We actually went to see the band that was playing, but decided to go early and have dinner there. Good choice! The food was great! My fiance got the ribs and they were delicious. They smoke them, so they had a bit of a smoky flavor and were tender and tangy.
This was the best place I've gone too everyone is nice and the food is super good. I do highly recommend the cheese curds here and the chicken finger dinner
two days ago was our first time we came to that restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the efficient service, with the exceptional cuisine and fine drinks and with the comfortable price. We will definitely visit there again.
Love this place they have a great menu and so my different things to decide on. The atmosphere is great the service is great, the food is great and they have a great bar with assume drinks .

No social distancing, all tables filled, not 6 feet apart...patrons were not wearing masks...Covidnightmare!...Staff were great...Manager cool...unfortunetly the patrons were very rude and obnoxious thus the bad review!
Jessica provided excellent, attentive service; the kitchen not so much. Overpriced, mediocre (and cold) beef sandwich. Cold fries to match. Cheese curds were fine, as was the potato soup. Homemade giardiniera was very good. Ordered bottomless soup and half sandwich but was told they don't make it after 3 p.m., yet it was on the menu. ... We'll give them another try.
Went there for a fundraiser for my kids school. We ordered an appetizer and our food. The appetizer came almost immediately along with my son's and wife's food. However, mine took over 20 minutes. By the time my food came to the table they were already done eating and ready to leave. I told the waitress that I didn't want my food anymore and that she could take it back. She left without taking it and came back with a leftover box and the full priced bill. Told her that I didn't think that I should have to pay for it. When she came back she took my credit card and the food then charged me the full amount. Left her a penny tip to let her know how I felt. The manager at least offered my money back but my wife and son had already left and I didn't want to wait around. I will never go back and recommend that no one else does either.
Very interesting menu. The Walleye offered on Fridays was wonderful and the hushpuppies were light and something the 3 of us wanted more of. This is the first week of operation and service was good and food prep will get quicker. We are all in such a hurry. I'm going back tonight with a larger group of friends for an early dinner. Looking forward to try another item on menu.
Food was delicious!! A little pricey, but good! Service was just ok. Our waiter got the job done, but wasnt on top of everything. Had to ask a for him a few times during our stay.

Staff is friendly. Food is fantastic! Had the walleye fish fry last night and it was great! Very generous with the fish. The walleye fish tacos and guacamole is delicious as well. Very impressed.
This is a MUST do in the Elgin area. So many fantastic things on the menu- the burgers are outstanding!! Our table favorites were the stroganoff and the hangover. Pro tip: don t forget about the sides! You can upgrade to have Grizzly fries and Elotes corn on the cob! Those are a MUST! Also highly recommend the Nashville hot sandwich and the rack of ribs. Pro tip #2: don t ignore the House speciality drinks! The Bloody Mary has the best additions with the right amount of heat, and the margaritas are SO good and refreshing. They also have a nice local draft list. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful if you don t know what to order. The design space is so much fun with a transit theme and the perfect amount of TVs to watch the game and enjoy your meal. Highly recommend!!

Four of us were there last Friday evening about 5:30p.m The Social distancing was Not very good at all.?? They were Extremely Busy lot's of people. Every table was occupied. The food was excellent though.
Loved their burgers and the margarita. We also had the nachos and pizza. Everything was so delicious and service was great. Definitely recommend this place.
Wonderful local place have to try, its delicious and tasty food there .. fresh American style sandwiches. All good and deserve to try.

Horrible customer service, clueless server. Had to ask to get our table cleared off 45min after we were done eating. Nothing like staring at a plate of chicken bones. This is our 3rd time coming here, seems every time it gets worse which is unfortunate because the food is always good.

Waiter said the ribs were the specialty so I ordered a full slab to share. And since I have traveled and lived through the southern states as well as Texas I have eaten lots of ribs of all kinds from many different parts of the country and I believe I can tell what are and aren't good ribs. The ribs at this restaurant were downright nasty. They had a 'crust' on them that almost was like a deep fried batter. And the meat had a 'bacon' taste to it. Something I have read you try to avoid when cooking ribs. After the meal I told the waiter I was very disappointed and he suggested I try a burger next time. If the ribs are what they do best and it is as bad as it was why would I want to pay money for something else from here? Additionally I do not drink alcohol so I ordered two iced teas (unsweetened) and they were weak and luke warm. If I could score lower I would.
Good food, good service, beautiful patio, but there is a complete disregard for COVID safety measures. Mask policies are either not in place or not enforced, for both staff and customers. These are very challenging times, and we try to support small business as much as possible, but I would not feel comfortable returning.

I come to this superb restaurant once a month as I like the good air that is outline this place. The team is awfuly friendly and professional. The service is impressively efficient. Also, the food they prepare is highly distinguished. I visited more than once and I was always happy. The rate is modest. I highly suggest this restaurant to to everybody.

We went in on a Sunday around lunch time. They were clearly understaffed and the person I m assuming was the manager was pompous and useless. Our server was super slow, which is fine, he had a lot of tables to manage, but the manager very begrudgingly was helping our table because the server couldn t keep up. The manager walked up to us after we received our food and asked us if everything was ok... to which of course we said yes... and then he says, well, I don t really care, I m just trying to do the job.
As someone who has worked in food service my entire life... i can say with confidence the guy needs a different job.

My food was delicious from the eggrolls to the dried fig, brussel sprout salad. My husbsnd had ribs he loved. We love that they use meat from Reams. We buy meat from there also and it's wonderful.
The decor was a little confusing as the name thrown us off. We thought it was a restaurant for older couples. Well it is a place for anyone as we saw families with small children and groups of friends hanging out after work or college.
The food is really good. The unsweetened ice tea actually tasted freshly made, not moldy bitter and the fries were made with care, not soggy or dried burned like most places. They had gluten free products and natural ingredients items.
So a little better options then other restaurants near by to choose.
Nice pulled pork for lunch but overpriced for mid day meal.

This place is my most favorite restaurant in the area!!! I have not had anything I did not like. The cheesy beef egg rolls are to die for and the elote shrimp tacos are freaking AMAZING!!! Stuff is great and very friendly!

I just had dinner here the other night, and it was a great experience. We actually are thinking of moving over in this area. After dining here we pictured this being the go to date night place. Look forward to dining there again. Food was fantastic and service was great quality.

Great staff!! Excellent food! Top notch libations!! The Red Hen was very moist and tasty. The Stroganoff Burger had great flavor and an excellent sauce! It was fantastic with waffle sweet potato fries. The beer is cold and the Manhattan was delicious. Can't recommend this place enough.
This was my second time coming here. I was having lunch with my friend and her daughter. Our waiter was so nice and very understanding of my friends daughter. He made jokes with her and was very pleasant. The food was great!! Service was even better!!

Good food, awesome staff. Making it all come together by offering both outdoor and now some limited indoor seating. Outdoor was our preference as it is under a pergola with large ceiling fans to keep air moving.
Sweet potato fries were the best!! We had the WI burger and walleye sandwich. I usually never finish my plate but I did tonight. Cocktails were good. They should serve beer flights all day long not just happy hour. I did love how I wanna say she was the manager or owner or host but she went too every table at least twice during our visit, just too ask how everything was. Bathrooms we're clean. Parking lot was busy. We did get seated fast. We enjoyed our time.
Always great food there. The outdoor area is awesome. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. However, when we arrived the other night, we were offered a table and requested one of the empty booths near us. They said no because it would mess them up . Cmon, figure it out folks.
Also very loud in there and hard to hear conversations at our own table. Add some noise absorption. Easy fix.
Solve these two issues and you would be 5 stars all the way.
Tried this place out after our regular place had a long wait. So glad we did! Food was delicious, the cheese curds may be the best I've ever had. Server was also so friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back. Had the chicken parmesan that night.
