Old Republic Bar Review

They are very expensive, each Coke is about 8oz for $2.99, and 60% was ice. We had two burgers, between my date and I and it wasn't busy, only 10 people in the place. It took 30 minutes for our order. Our waiter never came back after he dropped off the food. Our waiter offered us another Coke after we got up to leave, really? I would not recommend this place to eat. It's to bad they have terrible employees that would rather talk at the front, like date night, then take care of customers.

Decent selection of beer and spirits, but TV'S were WAY, WAY too loud.
TV's or music is to be a BACKGROUND accompaniment !!!
Also, it would be really nice touch to offer foods without garlic or onions for those of us who are allergic.. Or have foods/recipes available to change as needed.

Went here today, first time out in restaurant setting since pandemic happened and it was great. Felt very comfortable, I had the Wisconsin Hammer on a pretzel bun, was Top 3 Burger I have ever had.

Food is decent. Server seemed indifferent to our presence. Overall adherence to health and distancing protocols barely existent. I'll pass next time.

The restaurant had a modern rustic feel, with signs from NYC subways and some others from Chicago O Hare etc. Lots of TV monitors all around with various sports showing. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant but the food was another story.....the Hamburger meat had no flavor AT ALL, the bottom of the bun was cold and dry. The toppings were tolerable, but again the bacon and onions were not as flavorful as they needed to be. I asked for coleslaw on the side and they brought fries. They did bring out the coleslaw when I asked, but it wasn t even cold and it tasted a little off. We asked for wings as an appetizer and they never brought them, and when we asked about it the server made it sound like it was the kitchens fault, but we still had to wait another 10-15 minutes before they came out. Needless to say I did take half of my hamburger home....but only to feed it to my dog, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. If you value taste rather than atmosphere this is NOT the place for you to go.

First time there. The place was great & we had great service. Definitely will be back here.

Good selection of food and reasonable prices. Service was adequate, also. Think sandwiches and pub type food.

This place is one of my favorites. Service is always great. And never had a bad meal. Like that they use local business for the food.

Food was fantastic ! Had the pizza and wings and they were both delicious!

Food was great service was outstanding. We were there with a group of 16 people and everyone loved the food and the experience. Definitely will be returning.

What a great meal, our waitress Deana was amazing, very attentive and took great care of the family and I. Def coming back because of her great service and the great food.

Great staff management checked in us too. Great prices and the food was good. The music was too loud, hard to hold a conversation. First time there and I will come back.

Great margaritas the wings were fantastic too, I happened to walk in on a Wednesday, young man greeted me at the door and ushered me to a Seat told me about their specials and made one of the best margaritas I've ever had, he was the bartender. Greeter, bartender and waiter , talented young man I will definitely be back again.

Sloppy joe is good. Menu is a little weird. It's a new york style place.service was good.

It was good food, we had nice service, not sure if I'd want to sit by the river though. Birds and foot traffic

Good outdoor patio. Salad was above par. Wings looked great. Nice drink specials.

When you stop selling burgers 1hr 10 minutes before closing, you permanently lost a potential customer.

Nick and his team are great!! Handled our 25+ party with no issues. Food came out all at once and hot!!

Literally the best burgers in town! Their special burgers are amazing and they are so big!!

The servers are friendly. The food is really tasty and quite filling. Their daily specials are really well priced, especially for their drinks. And if the food wasn't good enough, the drinks are incredibly good. The drinks are reason enough to go. It's got a decent atmosphere, nice lighting. But overall, it's a great place to go for a date night or bring your friends for a nice night out. Try the butter beer or the ecto cooler.

Ate there once after they opened and was not overly impressed, did not return..we live 10min away.
Went back because Johnny Lyons was playing, we are big fans. It was his 1st time playing there. Nice heated outside tented area.
Martin took care of us, he was very good. Drinks and food were good.
Bottom line Keep Johnny coming back..otherwise we would have never tryied you guys again!

Poor service. Food wasn't bad. Wife sent her steak back, it was raw and just a poor cut of meat. The server did not tell the manager and he didn't take it off the bill. He tried to box it up to send it home with us after we sent it back. Kinda bazaar really. Your taking your chances here.

WOW great all the way around from the soup, potato skins, beef brisket and noodles to the all you can eat walleye. Then Apple pie alamode. Wait staff very alert and polite.

Wife had ribs,they were dry,but love the sweet potato fries. I had brisket sandwiche and fries. Brisket was decent, but bun was a little flimsy. With the onions and barbecue sauce it kinda fell apart,but the fries were good. Will give them another shot and try a burger.

The food and drinks are great, they have some themed drinks like butterbeers and ecto coolers that are a lot of fun, but the service is either fantastic or you're left feeling like you dared to intrude of their day. Generally I've had great experiences, despite a couple of their bartenders and will say the cheese curds are a work of supernatural goodness

Great time and in a tent too. They had music. Really enjoyed ourselves. Quite a surprise bring we are in Corona crisis mode.

Expensive but good food, service was good, some employees were friendlier than others.

The chicken tenders and rib combo is so good and so much food its a must try. Thr burgers are good and fries are great. Upbeat and clean enviroment ideal for watch sports events. The live music was a little too loud as my entire table agreed. Awesome place i went back for the second time just 6 days after my first meal!

Selection of food is good with portion sizes being appropriate for the prices. Daily specials make it a place worth trying.

There are several other options un the area with better fare and service

When this place opened it offered something new before going to see a movie. But upon further inspection you find out the food is just ok, the staff was rude and impatient acting like they would rather be somewhere else. The decor is nice but that s all it us going for it. You would be better off going around the corner to Applebee s

Food was fantastic, and the outdoor seating area is beautiful!

Food was decent but a little too expensive. 4 people, burgers, tacos, simple meals, 2 sodas, 1 beer and 1 $10 appetizer = $82 without the tip.

Never have had a bad experience here!! Delicious food, great service! We did try the beyond burger this time. Delicious! Highly recommend , even if you are not a vegan/vegetarian.

This place is good. I eat here all the time. I find it a bit pricey kind of but, its worth it because the food is good. love their wings. Salads are real good. Nice staff also.

Very disappointed I was super hyped about this place opening. Against my daughters option of...you probably won t like it. We have them a try this afternoon ordered a burger with sweet potato fries.
Wife had chicken nachos at waitresses Monica s recommendation, you should try them they are huge like a mountain of meat daughter had Nashville hot chicken reg fries.
1. LOL very basic not much flavor and not even close on the meat sorry Monica big hype poor delivery on the heads part.
2. MY burger looked good nice presentation however smaller patty than advertised. Took 2 bites very sour taste in the meat. Hostess comes over to check on us says hope everything is amazing. I said actually the burger meat is sour she says oh I m sorry I ll tell the chef. I ll be right back...
3. Hot Nashville chicken was a bit dry and just ok per my daughter. Not at all the taste advertised on menu.
Then waitress comes over ...I tell her the same about burger, then had my wife and daughter taste it and both said yes meat is sour. Waitress says it s probably just the pickles LOL. I m like we just tried the meat seperate. She Says duh it s still gonna have the pickle flavor. I then explained I ve been in food service most of my life and know the difference. She said well I can have them make another one with pickles?? What? I said I ll pass the fries were great so just ate those and picked on wife s mountain of nachos NOT!
Asked for check never offered to take burger off?
The hostess who said let me tell chef never returned and NEITHER will we ever return.

Try at your own risk high prices and mediocre food and sarcastic servers will not help this restaurant.

Food was good. They just opend too, so give them some slack on the 30 min wait for food, they are all new and the restaurant is slammed with everyone coming in and trying it out. Im issues was the drinks, margarita mix was cheap and tasted like pure sweet and sour mix.

Great burgers, sandwiches, other food. Excellent friendly service.

One star for customer service and that s because our server was super nice but the place was so busy that our server took forever to come to our table we had to wait forever on refills, which are necessary because of the small mason jars they use. The food was nothing to come back for, this place must do well at the bar. You can drink at home for cheaper and more comfortably. The prices were a bit high for food that was not good, at all. I will not be recommending. Apple Bees across the way is probably better.

From the food to the beer selection to the staff to the management they surpassed my expectations. Seeing the renovation from Lonestar to Republic they didn't skip any of the details or finishes. Great specials and elevated dishes makes me want to come back more than once a week.

Nice venue with music events through the week. Good food. Not much room for dancing.

The menu selection is not huge but there are plenty of choices and everything we have had (5 visits) has been delicous. The items have been well thought out and are perfectly prepared. A separate "autumn/fall" menu with additional choices along with the regular menu was presented on our last visit which included a strip steak that was grilled to perfection. The service has always been professional, courteous and super friendly. The entire staff expresses their dedication to making sure you have a pleasant experience at Old Republic. No "sticker shock" when you get your check. Very reasonably priced restaurant with delicious food and excellent service.

This place has improved since it first opened. It was mediocre at best originally. Now it's good. I will be going again.

Food was very good, staff was bordering on too attentive...Lol....Brisket sammy was awesome! Lighting over our table was a little aggressive. We felt like the lead singer on stage.

Went here before seeing star wars, okay draft choices, good food, but the bartender was a funny guy.

Had a couple issues nothing major but the manager and owners were wonderful!!

So I dropped by and decided to try the food, awsome is all I can say, the ribs are tender, the hamburger is big and the fries are crispy and hot, now the sloppy beef sandwich was excellent, and the turkey club is huge, good portions the restaurant is clean, plenty of TVs, good beers and IPA, plenty of parking, Heather was our waitress, she's fun and friendly, come on out and give it try, it was worth it.

Tasty food good beer list. Had some trouble finding lobster in my lobster roll.

Pretty much average place of it's kind. A family sports bar and grill.

The Old Republic operation is outstanding! The food is excellent and their team is exemplary. They have added an additional flavor to their ambience by bringing in live bands every evening. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!

Knowledgeable staff and great atmosphere. Wr had the ribs, the local barbeque sauce was wonderful. I think we'd have to come back. The burgers seemed to he really big. Overall, the quality of any aspect of this restaurant didn't put it over any other nicer establishment.

Not really a kid place.

Great fries but more people than I felt safe being around. Way more than 50% full.
