Okapi Hotel Rwanda Reviews

This hotel is in a great location to central Kigali. It is an older hotel which has ups and downs. Cons: mostly in regards to the bathroom. The bathroom is extremely old and outdated and kinda feels gross. Bathroom towels also feel like they were 20 years old. One of the bed blankets also was older and had stains. The paint inside the room also is old and needs to be repainted. Pros: Taxis & bodas know exactly where it s located. It s also walking distance to multiple supermarkets, Kigali City Tower, and much more. The price is quite reasonable for a hotel downtown. The bed was comfortable, and had new linen sheets, the room had a great view, and was very spacious with small tables on both sides of the bed, 2 new lounge chairs, a desk with a plastic chair, 2 other tables, a nice balcony, and locking cabinet closet/wardrobe doors.

I found the price of the room to be fair. It was cheaper than the prices online. The staff were friendly though the one that served me when I checked in was not very effective, I had a problem with the WiFi that took over an hour to solve, and only got solved when I went down to the reception myself. I will not give a negative review just because of WiFi and one person's service. The rest was just okay for the price I paid.

Problem is you book here then during check-in they want to move you to another place

You will be conned as the prices on the internet are totally different from the ones on the ground. Also the dollar exchange rate is really high compared to international dollar rate. They also have poor room service as they dont give water, bathing soap is substandard and the meals are really expensive. Bathing water was brown in colour and the towels are not white but creamy dirty. I wouldnt recommend.

They should install elevators but otherwise the service and food is good. Beautiful view of Kigali from the restaurant and balcony of rooms overlooking the city.

Quaint, needs to invest more in beds fittings like conventional power sockets, better WC's. Showers and water temperature control. Almost got scalded

Staff hospitality and the fact that you do t have to pay a front when booking and/or when making reservations.

Good for those would like to stay near Kigali downtown and 3 or 4 shopping malls

Good service, clean rooms, good food. Lack of transparency in accommodation prices, they try to charge as much as they think the customer might be able to pay. The hotel maybe cheaper when having reservation of a travel agent than asking themselves for the price. They have different room categories but do not offer the cheaper ones if you do not explicitly ask for it.

Hotel Okapi is located in the city center of the Rwandan capital. It is chic and modern. With fast and reliable service, it offers delicious platters.

There is a Kigali downtown meanold classic hotel. Very well known.Good place to organize meetings,conferences,overnight rooms at cheaper race(cue).Full stop.

If you visit Kigali stay there convince its in city centre safe

Very good and friendly staff, always eager to assist, few meters to city centre, walking distance to major Bus Stage. Best STAFF was receptionist Rebecca. Excellent WiFi, very clean, hotel. For a small Hotel, its really good at it's service. Keep it up.

Nice hotel... Great view of the Kigali Hills from the hotel to balcony. Wifi good but not great... The beddings seems kinda old. Looking forward to my stay here
