Odessa Restaurant Review

I never received a Texas burger. I was served a hamburger with an egg? I ordered at 11:30 pm and they told seamless they have to come back to my apartment to see the burger. So they would have to come by at 1 am.. no thank you! They forgot the honey mustard, ranch, mayonnaise, and cheese. They forgot the ice cream, for that they said they will refund for $1.50. They were rude and the order was completely wrong. I don t recommend them to anyone.

Been going there for nearly 30 years. Service and food are never a disappointment.

I wandered into this diner after late birthday to get some grub. It was moderately filled for after midnight which I knew already was a good sign. The staff was polite and very helpful. I picked perogies and was pleasantly surprised with the result. Maybe my late night dining experienced was biased but I got to say this diner charmed me.

Service is always super even when they have a full house. Definitely worth going back to. Prices that won't break you. Reminds me of a cafe in Chicago I loved to visit.

Odd and tacky. The food's nothing to brag about. However, for the price, it's a good deal and the servings are big.

They are known for their russian, this place goes back. I've had delicious blintzs, pierogi's etc. I've never had anything bad. You name it they got it. All day everyday.

Best late night perogies and breakfast for dinner. Phenomenal eggs Benedict. Plus, the wait staff is like family.

Every interesting was perfectly fresh, the fried food was crispy and not too crunchy, and the service was impeccable.

I always love this place! We have eaten so VERY many fried pirogues at this place. Love it and hope it stays open always! I actually celebrated my 10th anniversary with my husband here!!

My third visit to the restaurant and nothing has changed. Long wait and poor service.
The waiter was not helpful.

Buyer Beware: Don't order from them online. They might rip you off a few extra bucks, and claim it was an error on the online menu pricing. I had to argue with Grubhub to get a partial refund. To add further insult, the chocolate cake was stale. I ended up throwing it in the garbage because I could not stand the taste.

Odessa Fell Off. I ate breakfast there Saturday morning. I ordered eggs, homefries and toast. The food was cold. The service sucks. My boyfriends French toast was burned. Definitely not eating there ever again.

If you are around the East village, NY you definitely need to go and try the monte cristo French toast, simple, back to basic and delicious!

Throwback to the Little Ukraine, no-frills East Village of yesteryear, with good prices to match. Really great cross-section of the community (kids after band practice, locals requesting their regular dish and management willing to accommodate them not having enough cash on hand to pay) coming in and out of here for an early dinner on a Thursday night. The Odessa Special (kielbasa with saurkraut, potato pancakes, and pierogies) will cure what ails you. We were not here late but could imagine this is an amazing late-night alternative to Veselka. Service could not have been more friendly.

Lovely authentic diner, I used to come here a lot back in the mid 80s and on a return visit whilst on holiday in NYC, I was happy to see it's still as good as it was back then. Great wholesome food, lovely friendly service, lots of happy memories.

Its a relatively small place with about 20 different sausages/hotdogs you can choose from. The prices are reasonable and well I must say their hot dog is pretty darn good. It tastes fresh and I like how they toast the bread slightly. Its not your typical hotdog since the choices of meat, condiments and bread are well different.

Same as it ever was which is rare to say in my old neighborhood!

A New York City treasure. Amazing food, decent prices.

I went to this restaurant yesterday night and I ordered a root beer float for $5 and some staile cheese fries that were $7.50... they weren t worth $7.50 at all. Then I checked my account today and $76 was taken out of my account instead said $13. The servers were very rude. I would not recommend going to this place at all!

Excellent in East Village, across from Tompkins square park.

We had a wonderful time at this place. We loved the first-rate vibes and the food. The staff members were super amiable. I m glad we ultimately managed to visit this spot.

Food was good. Sunday around 8:30, not many patrons but service was undesirable. Had to call over the waiter for the first refill coffee, couldn t find him for a second. Had to flag him down after about 20mins to take the order. Waiter never showed back up after delivering the food.

One of the last oldschool diners left in the east village.

The food took 45 minutes to come out. The server only came to our table once. To top things off the lid on our ketchup bottle wasn't secured and when the bottle was shaken sprayed all over half tr he table. Then to add insult to injury they overcharged us.

Not same as years ago lost the touch. Waiters are slow n no smile

My favorite NY breakfast. $7 for eggs coffee juice toast and potatoes.

I admire this place a lot. there is a very special ambiance. The kitcen is splendid. the service is efficient and the stuff is polite. The pay is reasonable. greatly recommend.

Sorry folks, if you have to do diner food I gotta say this one sucked... I went there this past New Years Eve, I ordered a turkey burger with the consistency of rubber that hadn't been cooked right. And all my friends ordered burgers that were all not cooked right. They seriously had to have popped that stuff in the microwave. This food is good for people who get drunk, and while intoxicated have no concept of flavor or taste. Prices seemed steep to me as well for what I got. 9 bucks for a few less than mediocre mozzarella sicks, no thanks. I was pretty tipsy, and even THEN the food sucked to me.

This is a great neighborhood diner with some good eastern european dishes on the menu.

I only had the tea here so can't speak for any of the actual diner food, but the one waiter that was there was really rude. The owner/manager was nice though.

I've been coming to Odessa since I was in high school (and that was a VERY long time ago). Unparalleled pierogies! I always go with a potato & cheese combo plate, fried with onions, sour cream and applesauce.

Odessa was our go to place for cheese blintzes but after last night we might even reconsider that. ZERO love in the food. First our fried calamari had to be returned, it was so chewy that I think it might have been dangerous to serve. The waiter was annoyed by that but okay. The greek salad was bland, the tomatoes where not ripe, they where cheap on the cheese and olives but VERY VERY generous with their lettuce...why are you serving a greek salad without any heart? Thank god their pasta was good but the veggie burger was gross. All filler, no taste, no love, no care. Why bother if you don't care? Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere.

The Chicken Marsala was what I expected from a diner. It wasn't bad. It comes with 2 sides. I got a huge garden salad as well for a side. The total came out to $16.55 not bad for what you receive.

I get to eat here a lot since I work nearby. I got to say the service is always fantastic and they keep the place well organized regularly. Prices are reasonable and they serve large portions.

Great place! Classic diner plus pierogies, blintzes, and other Eastern European dishes. Great pricing for the food, beer and wine available, quick and attentive service... I'm Ukrainian and I absolutely loved their pierogies.... Amazing

The cheese fries were pathetic. Literally a couple Kraft singles melted on fries.

Odessa is a no nonsense diner for a good bite to eat. I have been going to this location for years and I still enjoy their fare... the employees are courteous and friendly. Great to bring a date or family.
