This restaurant came highly recommended by friends. The view and server were wonderful BUT it took forever to get our food and once it arrived it was very disappointing. We sent back the crab soup after the first bite. The grilled shrimp was cold and everything else was below average.
Average menu - limited seafood selection. No need to put a salt rock bed under oysters, corn oyster dish entirely too sweet, calamari concept well conceived - poor execution. Frying everything together makes it soggy. Atmosphere and service is top notch.
Hush puppies were good, meal was ok at best. The view is amazing.
Awsome the view of the beach is great food was great my wife had the fish tocos I had the bacon blue burger with no bacon and my mother in law had a salad our waiter Orlando was awesome and i think the maneger came to thank us and asked if we needed anything... GREAT VIBEZzzZz

Hour wait for food with empty tables all around us, so it was not busy at all! "Used" to be a wonderful place to eat, but after today, we were truly disappointed with dining experience all around.
Food was only warm when brought to table. Flavor was only so-so.
I was pleasantly surprised to find not the overpriced and subpar food in the tourist trap I expected. Prices were reasonable, food was delicious, service was excellent, and the views are the best anywhere in town.

If you can get seated looking out over the water, this restaurant is an awesome experience. The food was delicious, but a little over-priced. If you like seafood and are looking for a nice spot out, this won't disappoint. Get some hush puppies and crab dip and you'll be satisfied.
Food on the Pier, can't beat it. Food is delicious. Lil bit of a wait but it's a amazing experience. Everyone should eat here once on their lifetime.

A very nice oceanfront dining experience. Food and service were good, but the menu has been pared down to a single page. Not nearly as many menu choices as they have had in the past.

Food was fresh and tasty. Recommend anything with shrimp and/or grits. She crab soup was also quite good.
Be prepared to shoo away the birds multiple times if you eat outside on the pier.
Don't forget to take a walk to the end of the pier to appreciate the water after your meal.
Oceanic is an iconic restaurant for those who have enjoyed living at Wrightsville Beach over the last few decades.
The food is always impeccable, the waiters professional, and literally the best views of the beach with more windows than you can count on the side facing the ocean.
It's also been renovated after the last few hurricanes, so it's even more beautiful than before.
My suggestion is that if you get the opportunity, have lunch or dinner on the top level.
It still holds great memories for me personally, as my friends and I held our prom dinner in the top room at Oceanic almost 20 years ago in what was a magical experience.

First time visit. The view is great on the pier. The she crabsoup was good. The shrimp po-boy and calabash shrimp basket were good. Not many shrimp in the basket. Again the view is great.
We had come to visit with 6 of us total & decided to try Oceanic. It took a little while to be seated but when we were it took some time to get our orders taken but when they were it took more than 25 minutes before we finally got our meals. I had ordered the French Toast which was pretty hard to eat as it was very dry even with the syrup. Some areas were as hard as croutons making it difficult to chew through. Over all it is not a place I would go back to. According to the rest of our party some areas of their meals were okay some of they weren't fans of the over all mood was the same we wouldn't come back.

Totally dysfunctional service in the downstairs bar area this afternoon on 3/13. Have no clue why. There were plenty of staff working. Ordered a pitcher of one of the cocktails listed on the bar menu. Something was very strange as it didn't taste right (like an ingredient was left out). Also tasted like it had zero alcohol in it. I was so embarrassed as my friend paid a lot of money for this! Server never even bothered to come back and check in with us. Wish I had gotten her name.. A manager finally stopped by to ask how we were doing. My friend asked for the check and no one ever came back to take that! Inexcusable. Glad we weren't staying for food. Service here very inconsistent over the years. Such a shame

Bad experience for the price you pay. Quality of food is decent but presentation is better at your neighborhood deli. Service is also not trained well enough for the ambiance they're trying to sell you. Overall overprized experience with a nice view on the beach.
Niche spot at Wrightsville Beach. Right on the pier with lots of outdoor seating in shade and sunny. The menu has lots of great options... not just fried seafood, but really tasty dishes. Interior is updated and the restaurant overall is very clean. Went on a gorgeous October day that felt more like summer, so it was packed. But they got us in very quickly (15 min). Timely service. Incredible views down the beach from almost every table. Highly recommend if you want a go to spot for those who have never been to the area.

The food was good and not too pricy. The view from the outdoor deck is what made the dinner! We were there at 6pm on Friday night and had our check by 6:30! Appetizer and entrees came so quickly! Live music and a walk on the pier only added to the fantastic night
Don't do it. Over priced , bad service, bad food. Ordered calamari extra crispy, not only was it not crispy but it was cold. Drinks are watered down. Server was busy and wasn't able to refill drinks, we had to get up and get our own ketchup and malt vinegar from the server station. The manager was just standing around not jumping in to help. Disappointed :(

Brunch is ok. We both did the eggs crab steak benedict. The crab and egg was good but the steak was not good. It was tough and not cooled medium rare. A bit overpriced but staff was friendly and attentive.
I went by myself for lunch and had a fantastic experience. The good was very good, not terribly overpriced, and service was quick and efficient.
What an amazing view, first and foremost! The shrimp was excellent and perfectly cooked and a great portion size. I thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience! What a diamond in the rough for sure! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to others!
Over the past 2 weeks, my wife and I have dined on the pier twice by ourselves and once with friends and each experience has been very enjoyable. Our last visit was on Saturday and Hannah was our server. She was professional and very kind and cheerful, which made this last experience the best one so far. The food, wine and bloody Mary were excellent! Thanks for adding a hostess stand at the entrance to the pier. We'll be back again soon!

My husband and I came to eat dinner here because it was walking distance from our hotel. The service was slow even though the resturaunt seemed to be dying down. The waitress was very nice and brought us some hush puppies in apology for our drinks taking so long. The hush puppies were burnt and tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. After eating the hush puppies we decided not to even bother to eat here because if you can't get hush puppies right why pay $20+ for dinner. Sorry...
One of my favorite places to eat. Food is always good and of course the best view.
We have ate this place for a couple of years and not had any bad food or service. My family loves this place. We will continue to come as long as the doors are open.
I was there with a group of 18 for a work trip. We sat outside on the deck and it was great. The sun setting on the one side and the ocean on the other made for a good experience. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly. I had the crab stuffed salmon and enjoyed it thoroughly. Hannah was great!

Had dinner here with 3 other couples one which were newlyweds. I did the call ahead seating and when we arrived they had our table ready!! The service was great! Our server Hannah could not do enough for us. One of our appetizers was late and we received another open the house. The food was delicious! The view was gorgeous .... great first experience!!

Great Food. Atmosphere and wait staff. Visited from NYC and my friend took me to Wrightsville Beach. After our fun in the sun we went a few short blocks to the Oceania Restaurant. Had the steak which was very good. My drink was a little watered down but dinner by the ocean as a back drop more than made up for it. Thanks to waiter MATTHEW. He was cool, personable, and on point as our waiter.
Very nice place, food it's delicious and not expensive at all. The ambient it's calm and the view it's fabulous. I'm not sure if it's all the time but last Sunday they had a really good band playing outside. I love the idea of eating outside in the pier. I would be back very soon. To me, this was a great discovery.

We had a party of 10 for a friends birthday and we were all disappointed. This was the first time for a few of us and we just had several issues from the start. Our waitress was friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed. We had to get a cup of hot water to soak our utensils(didn t have any plastic silverware), crab soup and French fries came out cold, I ordered a salad with grilled chicken and I got the salad and then had to wait another 5 minutes for the chicken and I m pretty sure it wasn t even a whole piece. It seems a bit overpriced for the quality of the food.

Being out of towners, this was the first time my husband and I visited on June 27th. The view was far better than the food. I ordered the fried flounder and it was awful. The flounder was too bready and didnt taste at all like flounder. The slaw was rotten and I had to keep asking for refills on my tea. Won't visit again.
It's a nice place right on the pier. The food was just okay. It was very crowded and very slow service even at the bar.
Samantha was very polite and attentive. The food SUCKED! it was very under seasoned, if seasoned at all. The view is breathtaking. Go for the view. Order a beer (can not mess that up)
I was so disappointed, was sat and waited over 15 minutes and still no server. We ended up leaving, there was only 4 other tables with guests, I am so disappointed.
I absolutely loved my experience!! The service was excellent and the wine selection was amazing! I ordered the crab dip and shrimp and grits and it was delicious I will definitely be coming back!
