Oceanic Restaurant/LM Restaurants Review

Everything was perfect, and delicious. I will definitely go back in summer when they open the pier to dinning.

Showed up with my service dog, a black lab, and emediatly was told to go around to the back that I couldn't walk through the establishment, so I could only sit outside in the 40 degree weather. So we accepted and go outside, and are seated the person says our server will be with us soon. Waited 20 minutes in the cold with no drinks or a server to speak of. We walked through the back door and out the front, and I will never be coming back.

I've visited Wrightsville beach for years and this was the first time we tried this place. The view outside is gorgeous. The staff are sweethearts. So the ambient great. The food & drinks themselves, not so great. The food didn't have flavor. The mixed drink was basically just liquor (I was hoping to just sip and enjoy it). The water tasted like saltwater and even with lemon, it was not easy to drink

I actually went here last week, and was very underwhelmed with the food. The hushpuppies were yuck, the coleslaw was in a little sauce cup, and the shrimp did not taste fresh. The place is pretty outdated too, so if you're looking for somewhere to eat please don't here here.

The food was horrible! The crab dip was watery like soup, the food was overcooked to the point it was actually tough, the salmon had a funny taste but the steak was okay. I do not recommend this restaurant. For the same money, you can go to the Bridge Tender and have wonderful food with much better service.

Not the best seafood in Wilmington, but you can't beat the view of the beach. I have been going here for 35 years. It is worth a visit.

I absolutely love this restaurant! I used to beg to eat here every year when I would come down to visit my dad. I'm obsessed with the crab dip and have tried to recreate it lol but nothing compares. Thank you for all the wonderful memories!

Really good. However, beer wasn't ice cold. And I wish I got my steak when it was still sizzling.

Wrightsville s only beachfront restaurant. The outside seating is on a pier over the beach.

Food was not to standards. I was surprised. Blackened tuna was cooked more than a well done steak. My daughter's chicken fingers were extremely greasy. The staff was wonderful, they were the best part of the experience. The manager comped my meal and offered dessert to everyone. I hope it was just a bad night for them. Rating: Food a 5. Staff a 10 and sitting on the pier having dinner with my family for Father's Day a 10.

We love to eat out on the Pier. The view is spectacular, the food is great and so is the service. We love it!

Server was great! The outdoor patio is awesome. The food was good. However, their glass windbreakers are very dirty between the sea water, food and long hairs caked on. It definitely impacted the appeal of the food.

very disappointed with the steamed shrimp I ordered. When I questioned the server about them she said they were farm raised and frozen. Really? Go to Motts seafood and get some fresh shrimp!

I was not impressed by the quality of the food considering the expensive menu. I would have expected a much more satisfying meal. The atmosphere is nice, and it was nice to watch the waves during our meal, but that is basically what you are paying for. The food was just mediocre.

I'm from southern Indiana and we have better seafood than this place. The food was over priced for the quality. I ordered the flounder and shrimp fry basket, wasn't impressed. The shrimp was tough like it's been frozen. My dad got the muscles and two out of the three would not open. My mom's salmon was over cooked. My sister in-laws food came out cold. Over priced bad seafood.

We didn't have to wait to be seated. We bd oy our food within 10-15 mins, and it was fresh, hot and good!!!

Horrible wait time. I was told 30-45 minute, waitied 1 1/2 hours. Then after being seated took another 15 minutes just for our server to ask us what we would like to drink. The ENTIRE second floor was empty when we were taken to our seats.

Excellent views but mediocre food and lousy service--like a lot of restaurants in Wilmington. Our waitress admittedly knew almost nothing about the menu--giggled about it actually. She also continued to blame the large party of 60 on our being ignored. My party of 6 doesn't care about the party of 60!

Beautiful views. Yummy food. Good service. Were able to accomodate a change from 11 to 17 guests with no problem.

Sea Food is good... You can actually view the ocean from your place.. its a wonderful place to be with your family / friends / Loved one.

They told us we had a 45 minute wait and we had to wait one and a half hours

We enjoyed a great Sunday brunch this morning, food was great, our waitress was wonderful, and of course had the most perfect view. We got there around 10:15 am before the crowd. Can't wait to come back our next trip!

The Oceanic was awesome! Great view, service and food! I highly recommend it!

Food here is just mediocre. View is nice, which is what you're paying for. I suggest eating at South Beach Grill, Jerry's or Brent's bistro for good seafood and then coming here for a cocktail on the pier to listen to music and watch the ocean. Lunch baskets are decent though... Just make sure you order from the lunch menu and not the dinner one that they sometimes try and slip you, which is 2+ times the price for same thing.

The pier and views are amazing obviously. The drinks, not so much. Can't speak for the food as we didn't eat after viewing the menu.

Exquisite views of the ocean while eating with outside dining pier available, crowds are manageable and food is really good.

My family has been visiting this restaurant for years. It has always been delicious and this visit was as wonderful as expected.

I just wanted to say what a great day we had yesterday at oceanic restaurant Hannah our waitress was great and the crab cakes sandwich was too. I had a friend visiting from out of town and he was very impressed as well great job to everyone at oceanic

The food and scenery were great but it took more than an hour to get our food to the table.

Awesome Ocean Front Restaurant with amazing views and the best oysters in Wilmington, NC! Food is always FRESH, well portioned and delicious! Staff is very friendly and accommodating! Easily one of the BEST WATERFRONT VIEWS in all of Wilmington, NC! A MUST TRY!

My favorite place to spend a lunch , or dinner. Sit outside an watch the waves crash as you enjoy eating out on the pier!

Amazing Food! Great service from wonderful people. Given the whole Covid19, I believe they are doing an amazing job, and I should know, I am a specialist in crosscontamination and sterile processes. So let me assure you that the protocols and seating here at Oceanic are far more "safe" than going to your local hospital waiting area.
They wear mask, the tables are more than far enough apart AND they do it all while providing safe, courteous and friendly service.
These lady's and gentlemen are truky amazing!
Order the diver scallops, these are amazing! If you think all scallops are the same then you truly dont know the difference between boat scallops, day scallops and Diver Scallops, and Oceanic cares enough to serve you Diver Scallops, dont settle for anything less!

This place has been around forever and continues to be the BEST food on Writesville Beach. Outstanding views!!!

The service was really good and I was able to get my food really fast but my food wasn t the best, the only good thing I got were my French fries.

The scallops & calamari were phenomenal. Go eat here, you won't regret it!!

The view is obviously the best part of this restaurant. The food is expensive, the service is mediocre, and worst of all the food quality and portions are both inadequate. Took my family there, 5 of us, not 1 of left feeling like it was a good choice. My daughter had the crab soup, it was so bad none of us could eat it. Tasted sour and smelled like spoiled fish. A few had the stuffed flounder, dried out fish wrapped around mushy crab and scallop stuff, not good.

Some of the best fish I have ever eaten!! To die for. Melted in my mouth!

The pier is gorgeous, I love the fact that this place is located on Wrightsville Beach, parking kinda sucks. That is the only downside but the view is amazing.

What a mismanaged restaurant! The food is blah and the menu is uninspired. Stay away until they get their act together. Wonderful location, so I gave them a star.

The remodeled restaurant looks great. The swordfish was delicious.

Loved the view from the restaurant of the ocean. Loved the live band that played on the pier located in the rear of the restaurant.

Enjoyed our dinner on Thursday night so much that we returned for lunch the next two days after being on the beach! Salmon Caesar Salad fabulous as were fish tacos! Best hush puppies ever!

Great location and really good food. Obviously, being a pier, the view is of the Atlantic. The food is high end fish. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. It is not prohibitively expensive bu not cheap either.

Wonderful place to grab a bite with friends or a large group of people. The staff there are very accommodating and their specials are wonderful. But I highly recommend any seafood plate from this place as they get all of their fish fresh and it's delicious!

my wife had shrimp/polenta and I had crab stuffed shrimp. we shared the tuna appetizer. meal was excellent but server had B/O to the high heavens, which turned us off. would have asked for manager but server did not stay for entire meal(?) so I passed. except for server, meal was awesome. not sure if we would go back though. B/O was that bad. unfortunate!

We had a surprise birthday dinner at the Oceanic Friday night and couldn't have been happier. The staff was great to work with, from hiding out-of-town guests to serving the cake at the end of the meal. The food was excellent.

We decided to try the Oceanic because of the great oceanfront location and view in spite of the rather mixed reviews. They were quite busy but we were seated promptly and received great service. We started with the rich and tasty crab dip and then both had the fried flounder. Having once lived on the coast for several years we know good, well-prepared fish and what we had was simply excellent. The slaw was tasty, the french fries were crisp (not always a given here in NC) and the key lime pie we shared was a rich, flavorful treat. We will return!

The food was great. Loved the chicken "O" meal. Located right on Wrightsville beach so we walked along the beach after we ate. I enjoyed the entire evening.

Only reason they didn't get a five star is because of the waiter. He was friendly whenever he made it to us. We did a lot of waiting though

Amazing place. From the atmosphere to the staff and the food, everything was perfect. We had a perfect night to sit outside on the back near the pier enjoy our dinner. The weather was perfect and my meal was simply amazing. I had the blackened mahi and my wife had the crab stuffed shrimp. And I can't say enough about the awesome crab dip. If you are looking for a very nice place, that's very reasonable priced to have a wonderful dinner I definitely suggest Oceanic!

Clam strips=right on
House salad w/fried oysters. Salad was spot on, oysters, well as small as they were, not sure what they were. Server told me salad could be ordered with them and it would be about three. Salad came out and there about a dozen tiny bits around the salad.
Poke bowl app, unfortunately the Tuna was lost in the sauce and onions. The Star should have been the tuna.
We ll be back more for the views than the food...
