We stayed here on a long weekend, we booked online-easily and were pleasantly surprised how nice the rooms were for the price. The place was close to the beachfront area with access to many shops and a great walkway in front at the foreshore. When we get back to Geraldton, this is where we will stay!! Great staff, good food and a friendly atmosphere. The secure parking was a nice option too!!

A cool place right on the beach in Gero!

The rooms are spacious and modern...i thought it was haunted as somehow our ceiling fan kept turning on by itself!

The bar was cool, but it would be nice to have kitchen staff on hand rather than using the pub down the street to serve up dinner...

It was a nicely located hotel with a beach view. Rooms are spacious and the toilet was brightly lit. Guests are given a welcome drink coupon at the bar. But the rooms are not that sound proof and the door shutting sound was a bit loud. The hotel car park was small compared with the usual ample parking spaces in the area. The public parking was 2P.

It was my 65th birthday. At check-in I handed over my credit card to pay for the room $209.00. To my shock, in addition to the $209.00 for the room, a second payment of $100.00 was taken as a "bond" for the room. What is this? In 45 years of hotel stays, I have never had to pay a bond for a room! I know I'm a young fella, and it was my birthday, but I was in Geraldton for a different reason. That said, the room was excellent, clean (apart from a urine puddle behind the toilet seat hinge) and
views were spectacular. Geraldton is a wonderful place, and I will continue to travel there to visit the resting place of my late brother, but I'll find another venue to stay were I'm made to feel like a trusted citizen.

Good location. Nice room.

Good location. Nice room.
As others said walls thin. Next doors tv might have well have been in my room. Lucky no hanky panky going on :-)

Stayed here for 2 nights over the space of a week. The first stay was good, and stayed in a ocean view room. Woke up to a used condom on our balcony which was a random surprise. However, our second stay was in a room which was very basic, however both my wife and I had horrible night with bed bugs.

We stayed in a family room - two rooms with an interconnecting door - and it was great. Each room had a bathroom, TV and beds to sleep 3. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, the location is BRILLIANT!! The price is also very reasonable.
This may not be the best hotel we have ever stayed in, yes, the decor is a little dated, but compared to anything else to offer in Geraldton, this was fantastic.
Also, it is positioned across the road from a HUGE kidspayground, and pristine beach - our kids spent hours just having fun. You are within walking distance to all the cafe's and shops.

Not an ethical business. I had booked 3 nights stay initially. However due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I had to cancel my travel plans. Although I was under the impression that I had cancelled the reservation, for some reason (due to possible issues with my net connectivity) it did not go through. I only realized the booking had not cancelled when I got a SMS from the hotel on the day informing me the room was available. I immediately approached wotif through whom I had made the booking. The hotel staff informed wotif guys they would charge one night's rent as cancellation. I directly approached the hotel reservations asking them to consider my case and waive off the cancellation fee. before doing so I checked their website and could see a number of hotel rooms available for renting even on the day. My request for waiving off the cancel fee was not entertained and I was told their's is a busy hotel!!! Although the hotel is operating legally (according to terms and conditions of the booking)I feel it is not ethical.

Positive comments, but you must take on board the negative comments.
On arrival I was totally surprised that my wife and I had to climb stairs to enter the hotel.
I was sent text for a 'Gate Code' for a car park. I was not informed that the "Car Park' was down an alleyway in an adjoining street.
I left my 75 year old wife in the car outside the stairs to the entrance into the hotel, and asked the Girl in reception were the 'Car Park' was, I was then informed that it was up an adjoining street but it was full.
My next question to this young unhelpful girl was, "where can I park my car" I was told "in the street". I pointed out that we had luggage, my wife albeit is not a cripple but has difficulty walking and ascending stairs. (I just got the shoulder shrug.)
To try and condense this fiasco, I did manage to get our baggage (Without any help from the Hotel) into reception.
I was then told, that a further $100 was to be taken from my account (On stand bye) should I purchase anything. ( If I was going to purchase anything I would pay for it or add it onto my room Yes?)
Because of my wife having a problem walking I had requested ground floor on making the reservation accommodation, subject to the Hotel not having a lift.
They came to the party there, because we had ground floor accommodation.
This ground floor accommodation is adjacent to the Hotels free! parking. whilst carrying our luggage down to our rooms, I could see that the Hotels 'Car Park' was indeed full.
However I noticed an 'Acrod' bay was not being used.
So I returned to reception and asked this on the ball helpful girl if I could use that bay, because both my wife and I have "Acrod' permit stickers. This young lady did not have a clue what an 'Acrod' bay was. Consequently I explained.
Negatives finished.
On the positive side, generally the staff were very helpful, Tash was a delight to deal with, the lady who, it appears answers most of these reviews ( Work that one out) I, found was the least helpful, to the point of being rude.
Once again this my opinion.
To conclude yes, we will stay again, if you will have us.
And you really shouldn't show the Beach and Sea lapping against your hotel, it is at least 500 metres from the ocean.
Have a lovely day. But please you must inform people about your entrance. ( Please don't mention the rusty old 'Wheel Chair lift) probably never been used in Decades.

Great location, ocean front, main shopping precinct behind. Deluxe Room is a good size, great walk-in robe. Unfortunately for us all the front ocean facing balcony room unavailable. Downside is thin walls which made for a lot of noise and the secure parking is very limited, so ended up parking on the street.

Throughout our whole trip this would probably have to be the best place we stayed.

The room was really nice, the balcony was kind of lame and tiny but was enough for two people to enjoy the view. We didn't use it much, I wanted to, but the space and chairs were uncomfortable to spend long periods in.

Parking on-site is lacking. What there is, is actually fine but there's just not enough of it. So be prepared to park on the street and incur whatever additional fees apply in doing so. We were lucky and managed to get the last spot. Also don't expect to be able to get into the parking area if you have a large vehicle (think modified 4wd or F250).

Food is done via offsite restaurant that delivers, we didn't try as the location allows for easy getting around to all the places in town.

100m from the beach.

Places to eat are "The beached Barrel" and the "Old man and the sea" rooftop bar at the Gerald hotel 50m up the street.

I would stay again, no questions asked.

If your going to stay here make sure you book a room upstairs and NOT! On the bottom floor facing the carpark. For $169 a night it was way to noisy. Room itself was good and bathroom was good. Also make sure you get into the secured carpark around the back EARLY or you will be parking on the street.

The service was absolutely wonderful. The staff went above and beyond for us. We stayed overnight with our newborn baby, and everyone was so lovely. The room was nice and very clean, the view was fantastic! Will definitely stay here again! Thank you to the lovely staff who looked after us. We really appreciate it.

The walls are quite thin, and admittedly you can hear other neighbours quite alot, but this didn t prove to be an issue during my stay.

This beach front hotel has everything you need for a stay in Geraldton.
Clean, fresh rooms with mini bar, smart tv, icy air conditioning and bathroom condiments.
Short walk to town, wharf, marina, shopping centres, museum and restaurants (though there is a restaurant/bar in the hotel with ocean views).
Friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back.

Clean, tidy well organised tastefully decorated. If you can book a Seaview room it s lovely to just sit and watch the seafront, if not head for the bar lounge where free tea and coffee is available all day and shares the same view. Yes it could do with a few repairs but nothing not to be expected from such a busy hotel. We will certainly be back.
