Very nice pub and restaurant. Great garden on a sunny day

Food was good (both had burgers with extras, plus spaghetti carbonara for the littluns) and well portioned, nicely presented.

Service was prompt and efficient. Prices were good.

Our table was a bit sticky, and the multiple levels are not ideal for buggies or mobility impaired.

Overall, good experience. I'm sure we will be back.

Wedding 14/1/18 - Thank you so much Philippe, Janet and all your wonderful staff on our Wedding day on 14th Jan. We and all our guests had the most amazing day and every single one of our wedding photos we have just had back shows every one smiling in every one! We had so many wonderful comments about the beautiful food and portion size was great - food came out on time to all guests and was hot. We had given Philippe our chosen decorations the night before and we were both blown away at how gorgeous the entire barn looked for the day and, once again, had so many comments from guests saying what a perfect venue it was. DJ Phil (part of the Barn team) was amazing and at no point was the dance floor empty - good time had by all and fabulous photos of the memories. We would, without any hesitation whatsoever, recommend The Barn to any future Brides and Grooms and cannot fault any of the day as it ran absolutely effortlessly thanks to Phillipe and the team who we cannot thank enough. Absolutely 10/10 and truly wonderful day and wish we could do it all again! Mr and Mrs Kent

One of the best beer gardens in town. Cosy inside with a good drink selection and decent menu if your peckish.

Nice outdoor space for a drink. Has heat lamps which is nice for a cooler evening. Bar staff friendly and good covid protocol in place.

Big outdoor heated sitting areas. Can be a bit awkward in the evenings walking from the bar through the restaurant.

Great vibe staff are very friendly, good choices on the menu, our food arrived quickly and was nicely presented, lovely lunch

Great Food, Super Service, my only small gripe is we had the sirloin steak the menu said comes with onion rings but didn't. had I have known I would have ordered as a side, But I know now because I will be coming back.

Just returned from a wedding reception held at the barn. The staff could not of been more helpful and friendly. The food was of a high standard. It was a wonderful place to celebrate the start of a new marriage.

Went for a work team lunch, I had the Catalan Burger which,while quite nice was a little underwhelming. Chilli jam should have a kick, nor was it particularly jammy. The chorizo was a couple of thin slices. While it was a nice burger I was expecting a bit more

My husband and I got married at the Barn on Sunday 8 of April; Philippe and the staff pulled out all the stops to ensure that everything ran smoothly and flawlessly. You really can see why they are an aware winning venue, nothing was too much trouble and they supported us every step of the way. The venue dressing, wedding breakfast and staff service meant that many of my guests told me that it was the one of the most enjoyable weddings they had ever been to. They made our fairytale wedding stress free and it was an absolute pleasure planning our wedding with them over the past year. They really deserve the highest accolade, I could not recommend them more. xx

Food and staff are great. Nothing is too much trouble

I ve been here loads of times and every time they exceeded my expectations. The barn will always hold a special place in my heart as I got married their. I ve been their for Christmas parties, NYE parties and just meals out. The team that works their are always good and very attentive the foods cooked well and the portion size is good.
Keep up the good work guys looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Restaurant upstairs always excellent. Bar downstairs has five draught lagers, a draught cider & usually two or three real ales. Bar menu food top quality & always 2/3 specials at very reasonable prices. Has conservatory & outside seating. Service good. Rate this top notch, probably my favourite in Tun Wells!

Wow... where to begin?! We got married at the Barn on 25th March 2018. I suppose we were a bit unusual as we didn't look at any other venues other than the Barn when we got engaged. It has been my local pub for 6 years now, and when I introduced Nick to the Barn he also fell in love with it. We knew it would be the perfect place for us to get married when the day came. Nick was so keen to book that he proposed to me early just so he could get a date booked asap!

Philippe and Janet were on hand to answer our many questions and where so fantastic at helping us to plan everything out in the coming months. They made everything so simple.

The day itself was incredible... We could not have asked for anything more... Our decorations looked spectacular, Philippe did an amazing job laying out everything... It looked better than we could have imagined... It was magical! The venue really shines out in every one of our photos.

The service in the conseratory was so intimate and beautiful. Everyone said it was a wonderful ceremony and we feel alot of that was due to the intimacy of the venue as well as the amazing job of the registrars!

The staff behind the bar and in the kitchen were brilliant. We had so many compliments on the service and the food. Everyone meals came out hot and as ordered... And the food is always tasty at the barn... So much so that my mum always insists we go to the barn for lunch when she visits.

The day ran so smoothly. We both spent the entire day with massive grins on our faces and most of that was because we could relax entirely, knowing that everything was in hand! We cannot thank everyone at the Barn enough for putting the 'special' into our special day!

This is a good place to stop for one drink in between places but I wouldn't spend my evening here. There isn't a great drink choice and the food is very disappointing.

Nice place. Loyalty card gives 10% payback on each purchase.

Booked online, all went will. When we turned up the restaurant was quite & stayed that way for the whole of our visit.
We were shown the menu's, told what was the specials & soup of the day.
After we had ordered we sat looking around & catching bits of other peoples conversion & was glad here it was not other peoples first visit.
When our food arrived we were not disappointed with the presentation & quality of the food. The same happened again with our desserts, with a couple on the next table liking the look of what we had ordered & was going to order the same.
We were very happy with the service & friendliness of the staff as this made our meal even more special as it was our wedding anniversary meal.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at The Barn, we got married here on 9th June 2019.
Our day was just perfect, exactly what we had dreamed of and more, we wanted the relaxed feel and honestly our guests said that s exactly how they all felt! We went off to the park opposite to have some traditional photos taken - this had over run, so we were around an hour late to sit down for dinner, however this didn t seem to be a problem for the barn - so we just headed upstairs a hour later! The food was amazing, During the meal they kept on top of the table wine, ensuring there were bottles on the table at all times! Everyone commented on how generous they were with the wine!

Janet - the lovey lady behind the emails! Thank you so much for answering my 1000s of questions, and making me feel like nothing was to much!
The staff - the staff are brilliant, they were just in the background tidying and keeping the day flow amazingly, but never intrusive. There was never a wait at the bar - and we had over 100 guests in the evening!
Philippe - throughout the planning process he was amazing, he helped with everything and when I dropped off my many boxes of decorations, with 100 things to tell him he just listened and decorated the venue exactly how I had imagined it.
I just couldn t put into writing how amazing everyone and everything was at the barn. Thank you for the most amazing day!! xx

One of the few pubs in Tunbridge Wells that has some outdoor drinking space

Nice atmosphere and good food! Generous portions. Lovely calamari & rack of lamb.

Love the place! They are so professional and kind, the food is amazing and the building has such a lovely atmosphere that we held our wedding there. My heart was set on this place from the go. :)

The food is so good , service excellent, first time out to eat during this pandemic. Well worth the visit

Bar made purple hair sounds French most very miserable to us but very nice to other customers very strange I m very out going.

If I'm meeting a friend in town, this is my 'go to' place. The food is very good, reasonably priced and the atmosphere is just right. I sound like a broken record but the staff make or break a place and I can't fault them. The service is excellent from start to finish. Keep up the good work all.

Great pub and location. Staff were really friendly when we were hire to provide a chocolate fountain. Really nice atmosphere! Recommended

Nice place for a few drinks, casual and there is a good selection of both food and drink there - Friday/Saturday nights are busy with people going out on the town as expected.

Avacodo salad was off. Avacodo was brown and plate rejected. They had audacity to bring plate back blaming the balsamic dressing. The chef had cut a bit of rotten avacado off the plate. Plate rejected again. Amazing. Plated swapped to chilli concarne and provided free of charge. They did the right thing, but what were they thinking in the first place. Location nice. Prices ok.

Nice place and atmosphere, food was a bit disappointing.

Went for my 17th birthday dinner with 15 friends. Had a really nice meal. I had to order ahead of time due to our number and accidentally missed a meal but they were happy to make another anyways. Very lovely staff who put candles on my cake and carried it out for me made it a very special dinner!

Enjoyed a lovely meal here before the theatre. Staff were very good about squeezing us in even though they were expecting many guests for a function. Delicious food from starters to desserts.

Fantastic pub. Excellent staff. Been here dozens of times. Never seen any fights, problems nor idiots in here. Good food and great selection of drinks. I particularly like the conservatory and garden. Keep up the good work.

This is a beautiful cosy pub/restaurant in the heart of town with great atmosphere! Can pop in for a coffee/drink/snack or meal. Helpful friendly management and staff. Nice food and reasonably priced. Great in winter and super outdoor garden area in summer. Highly recommend it!

Came here for a work do on Saturday and had such a wonderful time. I always get the same thing when I come in- the mushroom stroganoff in a butternut squash... because it s so delicious I can never convince myself to stray from it! The hallumi starter and chocolate brownie were also incredible.

Staff were amazing and bought all our food really quickly considering we were a very large group. I left very full and very happy- Can t say a bad thing about my experience. Thank you so much!

if you decide to come for Xmas party here, please reconsider.We had 20 people, starters no complaint. Mains, completely in disregard to how our steaks should be done, all of them, were served very rare! at least one of us was happy as he ordered blue steak... Turkey was overcooked (dry) served with uncooked potatoes - you couldn't pierce them with a fork. Vegetarian option was even worse, pieces of lasagne were just floating in a massive amount of cheese and oil from sun dried tomatoes.
That was three out of 4 available mains f***ed up.
No complaints about desserts, apart from sorbet - watch out its got lots of vodka in it. Everyones opinion was we might as well had just drinks, the food spoiled everyones' evening. Staff had occasional spikes of rudeness out of nowhere.
Best cooked course of the evening was ice cream.

Good lunch menu, little slow on the service but always friendly and polite. Fantastic cheese selection when they run it on Thursdays...amazing idea!!

evening from Eastbourne to Essex. Great food and service in a beautiful setting.

The Sunday set menu was great value for money and our son loved his special 'trip to the moon' ice cream! Will definitely return when next in the area.

Perhaps this is a slightly biased review as I got married here, however it's deffinately a place to visit whether it's for Dinner in the upstairs resturant which has is beautifully romantic, cosy rustic feel with fabulous food at really great prices. Or light bites/lunch/snacks or just Coffee down stairs in the bar area or conservatory (newly refurbished I may add aswell as the toilets) The Barn runs lots of promotions which are great and you should deffinately get a loyalty card if you decide you going back- which you probably will! I can not fault this place. I only have one Issue Sundays are exclusive use for weddings and they're always booked up...(Probably because theyre so good at them!) So I can't go for a Sunday roast -haha! however very occasionally they have a Sunday free and if you keep an eye on social media you may just be able to go grab one.

Great atmosphere, great variety of cocktails, would recommend brambles. Not too pricey.

ok place, the food looks ok, only had their xmas meals on two occasions and will not be doing that again. service is ok venue is good with a mix of inside and outside space
could do with improving their selection of beers but that's just my tastes.

Great upstairs restaurant with very attentive waiting staff and relaxed atmosphere, I can highly recommend the Rib Eye Steak and the Mexican red Wine!
Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely little venue. I came here for my friend's wedding. It was small and pretty and lovely. The staff were very nice. The food was good. There is a decent range of drinks available. The upstairs seating area is very nice. The garden look like it would be great in the summer. Nice place. Five stars

I love the barn remember seeing chicory tip there.
Shame the bar steward who served me last night got out the bed the wrong side ,apparently that's his normal mood.

We've had our wedding reception there and can not do the staff justice by simply saying they are amazing! A maasive thank you to the kitchen staff who made amazing food and accommodated all the dietary requests.We have been looked after and they went over and beyond to keep our day special. Thank you so much!

Visited 30 July 2019, lunchtime. Had "Beef in Black Bean Sauce", which was tasteless. Although, there was a significant potion, The beer was not as I would have expected "Harvey's"' to have been. Either this was due to not have stored it well, or not pulling a pint or two off through the line before serving , I.e serving the first drink of day from the line and not the barrel.

However, the price was right and the decor and cleanliness was exception. The owner was pleasant, even though, the staff seemed a little dull.

Have been here quite a few times over the last couple of years. At this visit we had a very enjoyable lunch here with our friends. Good menu choices so you can have something light such as a salad right through to steak or large grill. Service was polite and efficient. Food quality was very good and plates were warm.

Love the Barn. Had a really good meal. Hubby's Steak was perfect. Xxxx
