It's Simply Horrible... Including way overpriced for what you should get (value wise). Sad to say... The Management Butchered the Course by removing trees everywhere and don't bother even to cleanup the mess or the ridicules countless mounds of wood chips and huge stumps or root-balls nor appear even to care. The debris form recent storms don't seem to bother them either. Seems that the thousands of trees they have removed looks like what slash areas in the forest looks like when deforestation occurs. Their excuse is that the course needed the trees removed to let the course grow better. Doesn't explain why hundreds of trees in the middle of nowhere are now stumps amongst never maintained areas were toppled. It appears that the owners needed extra cash and sold the best commodity the course had. I'm sure the owners would argue otherwise of which I wouldn't believe them one iota due to the serious unmaintained areas. As we played, the surrounding neighbors (yes homes on the course) targeted us to let us know how mad they are at the golf course. They pointed out in great detail how bad the management of the course has deteriorated even their own back-yards and they themselves are required to cleanup after the "lazy" grounds crew. One guy told us that he blows the crap back to the golf course every day. One woman made a point to let us know that the ground crews only smoke and sit in their carts instead of doing any work. She also mentioned that the equipment the course brought to strip mine the course had no regards for them at all. Furthermore mentioning that the homeowners Association is pissed. They apparently let five'somes also play on Saturday mornings because we followed several of them. They overload the course in the same way they stripped the trees out of the course. It used to be a nicer fun course while challenging to play. We played with a men's club member and he mentioned the membership is dwindling. He also mentioned that Gold Mountain / Columbia hospitality is taking over this month. Hopefully not too late because they have a clue. If you decide to play this course, consider yourself warned. I'll come back in 3 years to see how it turned out. Okay - One single good thing to point out is that the greens are very nice in spite the crazy undulations.. If you have to play this course...
Husband enjoyed the golf (altho a bit pricey). We all had a great meal afterwards at their restaurant (Adriatic Grill).
Best game winter golf around (I played on 3/3/2019), drains perfectly no soggy spots, course was well kept and has that cool old county club feel (hence it used to be private) with the course being narrow with houses everywhere. Staff was super friendly and customer service was on point. I would play there more if I didn t live in Renton, but I will go back soon and plan to bring a group to do a scramble (team event) there. Thanks again Oakbrook
The course is in country club condition, very well manicured, friendly & helpful staff. Great layout, outstanding value, not crowded. The only criticism is that the green fees are more if you book through by phone, but you can't reserve online if you're a single (minimum online reservation is 2 golfers), but their website does not state this. Otherwise, great experience!
Generally an OK course but pace of play can be an issue.
Had a blast! Friendly people rymo burger is awesome
First time playing here. It was ok. Greens were nice. I didn't think it was worth $70 greens fees.
The course is in great shape the greens fast, a beautiful course to spend the day on.
Impossible to book for an event!!! Been trying to book a wedding here for the past month and can t get ahold of anyone but the restaurant. Every time I call and ask to speak to an event coordinator they put me on hold for a few minutes just to turn around and tell me to leave a message with them. I have left my name and number at least 3 times with a restaurant person and another 2 times with the online inquiry and not a single response. Very disappointed in the lack of communication from these people!!!
First time playing this course and we had a great time. This place is Beautiful... Well maintained.
Mary and Alyssa helped coordinate a lovely catered spread for my grand opening party, the food was fantastic as was the service. They worked with me to make sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond in the process. Very impressed by this hidden gem would certainly love to do events with them in the future.
Loved the atmosphere & food! Looking forward to coming back
Course in great shape and fall leaves are cleaned up out of play as best as possible
My expectations were based upon this now being a public golf course. They have chopped down several hundred trees and there is still some clean up needed. That being said, the greens were in excellent condition and the bunkers and fairways were also in very good condition.
Oakbrook is in great shape on fairways and greens. They have some bargain rates for twilight golf and $175 /mo. For full membership to play as much as you want.
Greens are top 5 in WA... Course is in good shape and lives up to rating from Blues. Pace is fairly slow though. Overall good value.
The golf course is in amazing shape ! What a great experience !
Course is recovering from the tree project nicely! Fantastic food and a quaint event location, would love to have another event with them soon.
This is a great course, it has that traditional country club feel, great facilities, a very friendly place. Greens are large and very true, fairways and grounds are friendly to any level of golfer. Plenty of shade available for those hot summer days.
I loved this golf course, but I have to admit I am biased because I worked there for 5 years. I think it is one of the best layouts around and was in great shape the last two times I played it. I would have given it five stars, but I was there a couple weeks ago and was disturbed by what I saw. The Ryan Moore Group destroyed this golf course. They cut almost every fir tree on the course down. I am glad they were not interested in the oaks. The RMG group is bad for the industry, enviroment and should be banned from one of the top industries in our state.
If you're looking for the best publicly accessible golf course in the Tacoma region, look no further. All of the classic charm of a country club - tree lined fairways, pure and fast greens, great clubhouse and restaurant facilities - but open to the public. Friendly and considerate staff, welcoming environment. They do have membership offerings as well, which based on the rates also have to be the best value around. Can't get enough of this place, proud to call it my home course.
Good course at a good price! Was very pleased with the quality of the course, greens, and variety... Will definitely be playing he much more often.
