Lake Spanaway Golf Course Review

I like very much, speed in greens is good ,little fast, but good.

A decent practice facility and a great pro. I didn't play a round today.

Great course, great pricing and a great head professional. I'm so glad this is my home course!

Always a favorite muni. The park Dept keeps the course a good shape. Rack rate maybe a little high. But will be an enjoyable round.

Since the one in Lipoma Firs closed my dad and I have started coming here. The staff is nice and always happy. Never busy when we go and a nice place to spend a few hours hitting balls.

Course is awesome but had troubles with kitchen. They didn't say a hamburger was gonna have lettuce on it. I did the deal for a bucket, burger, fries. When I got my burger, noticed it had lettuce on it, asked for a new one and the lady refused to make a new one due to me being allergic to lettuce. So I lost out on a meal I payed for. Other then that the food itself is very good :)

I want to thank the young lady that setup for our WJGA tournament, she very helpful and very pleasant do her job, anything I asked for she was willing to go over and above to accomplish her efforts. I give her a big JOB WELL DONE.

WAY TOO EXSPENSIVE! The course is fine, but they are charging $40 plus to walk in Fall/Winter. If it was private maybe but for this area there are much better options at better rates... hard pass unless you guys want to come back to reality and charge a decent greens fee for your PUBLIC golf course

Pace of play was slooooooooow. Course is beautiful though.

The restaurant has really, really gone downhill. There is a very limited menu (if any) and now it does not open until noon. We have a tournament there and our tournament director says if you want food or water bring it with you. What kind of **** is that! Why have a restaurant at this golf course anyway? Shut it down for good if nobody cares to run it!! Hackers at Madrona Links opens at 7 AM. They have excellent food and the service is outstanding. Follow suit Lake Spanaway!
Also, we have a TGA delegates meeting on 24 September. All of the other golf courses comp our delegates golf when we have meeting at their golf course prior to our TGA sweeps at their course. The logic is we guarantee golfers from other clubs to golf there for the Sweeps the following week. But, I have to tell my club members we have to pay $45 walking on the weekend during our TGA sweeps with no senior rates? I'm sorry Lake Spanaway, your golf course is not worth paying that amount. Also, I will not golf because I do not want to pay the fee during our delegates meeting on the 24th. The TGA supports all golf courses on our schedule during the year and Lake Spanaway is one of them. I am not the TGA president or a TGA Officer. I just support my golf club and the Tacoma Golf Association.

I love golfing here.. Golfed here 10 years ago and recently came back, which was a great choose. Friendly service, great food and amazing course.. Will be back really soon

Went out for the Super Twilight Special had to admit the course was better than I thought it would be. For 20 bucks I got 18 holes a hot dog and a soda it even included range balls(I didn't use this feature but it was part of the amazing deal). The course was in good shape greens were good. I will be back soon

Really bad service today. Called in the morning, talked to Scott and got a tee time for a single. Arrived at the course and was told I didn't have a tee time. I found out they scheduled the tee time for two days later. No offer to correct it, resolve it or find any solution. Just "you can get another tee time in four hours". I felt like "We're busy! Go away!"

For $50 you'd think they could blow the greens off once a day. No point in even trying on a putt over 10 feet. Too much tree debris on every single green. Bring your Ryobi blower. Count it as a club.

Great round of Golf. Beautiful and a enjoyable course

Nice place but too many for trees dont play on windy day.

I have a good time coming here. The restrooms can use some work. The restrooms on the course REALLY need work. The playing is pretty forgiving and open. Even if you do shank a ball into the trees you will usually find it and recover. The staff always seems to be friendly and enjoyable. I like the fact you can schedule a tee time online.

Very nice course. Playable, even out of the sand, the rough, and the trees...in which in all of those I spent a fair amount of time.

Pace of play was good the greens were real nice the counter person was friendly and nice

As always a decent course in very good shape an a fair price. Some easy and some quite challenging holes

Very well maintained, tree lined, lots of shade for those sunny days, TOUGH COURSE.
Had a great, Fun round.
Will definently return to tackle this course again.

Lake Spanaway is a great municipal course. County does a good job with this facility. Course keeps getting better.

I suck at golf. So I got to spend a lot of time in the woods. It is a very nice nice little oasis just outside of Tacoma. A great place with a lot of shade for a hot day.

The best public golf course in the area. A good test of your golf game.

Spanaway is a great course with long drives and nice greens. Prices are good and the course is shady. It's nice to get off work and have a place to go play 9-18 holes in peace.

Went to the driving range. We had a great time. I was disappointed when the ball cart driver was not a sasquatch. It was just a normal person. Some day I hope a sasquatch will drive the ball cart.

Had not played this course in a decade. What a great "take me back moment". Went with my son and 2 grandkids. Course was in excellent shape.

Not to hilly, tree's were well groomed, easy to find your ball when it goes astray. Also, great staff.

Left valuables exposed and car unlocked and nothing was stolen. Even left out a 20.00 on the seat and it was still there when I got back.

Busy place, they do a great job, of course, maintenance, have problems booking with the app booking.

Home course, great people always friendly and helpful. Love it.

Very friendly place and is an old friend in the neighborhood nice nice grounds.

Course is in EXCELLENT shape. 4 of us finished 18 holes in just under 4 hours walking. Challenging but not overly tough. Just right for the average golfer.

My favorite course in the Tacoma area. Greens are smooth and the course is maintained very well. Even great to play in the middle of the winter. The club pro Matt is great as well. He was my daughter's instructor in first tee. Highly recommend

Great place to golf, front desk staff is the best, love each of them. Restaurant staff are the sweetest... they all go over and beyond to serve you.

So I called for a t time and they said come on in and you can get on the green ...when I showed up they were booked I told them I just called said they were sorry about that and gave me a free 18 holes ....man that's super cool.

The course is pretty much flat so you can either walk or ride in a cart. This is definitely a course I'll come back to.

Playing good for the weather we are having. No standing water. They start punching the greens on Sunday afternoon. Last tee time 3pm. Should be ready for next weekend.

Love going there. It gets a bit busy but still worth it. Even go once a month with my brothers for breakfast. It's good to.

The short brunette that works in the club house is awful. I have heard her talk about so many golfers that come and go from that course. I wouldn't have her work for me if she started problems with customers who pay good money to be there. I went there to golf and while eating I heard her talking about a friend of mine who golfs there, all which were lies. Also, people smoke at the driving range and it's nasty.

Greens have been good. Fringe and fairways need attention, too many bare spots.

I am not an experienced golfer by any means. I golf maybe two times per year. However, I enjoyed this course. They have a nice driving range, chipping area, and putting greens. Their facility clean and their staff if relatively friendly.
(I don t know what it is about staff at golf courses but they are not friendly people - these guys weren t so bad.)
The course itself is very nice and well maintained. I cannot comment on the difficulty because well....I stink which means all courses are hard. :)

Old School Washington course. It s just lovely. Super fun.

The greens were in pretty good shape. But the fairways are pretty rough.
