Really good service and a surf and turf to die for, huge freshly made burger and half a Lobster. Gets a bit busy as you might expect around dinner time but the food is well worth the wait. They have unfortunately stopped serving lobster due to a change of owners but the rest of the menu remains amazing.

Nice size portion and very tasty. Lovely service. My grandsons birthday we got a cake and they brought it out to him.. Other customers sang happy birthday which was lovely. Thank you for a nice meal xxxx
I have had many very good meals here but the last two visits within the last month have been very disappointing, the food quality has gone down hill in a big way and drinks are now taking far too long to arrive when ordering at a table. The service and food used to be excellent, the last two visits have been very different however and myself and regular customers I used to attend with will no longer be eating here, it's a big shame as we used to look forward to our meals here
The food is discussing we eat there last night the burger was dry and steak was full of fat the chips are oven chips the kichen was told no offen of money back never eat there again
We were extremely pleased with the professional way the staff went about their business, we felt safe and all of the social distancing measures were put in place effectively. The meal was excellent and the staff attentive, would definitely recommend.
Great food yesterday......exactly what we expect in here. Covid compliance was brilliant, we had an elderly friend with us who get very safe and secure.
Screens have been erected, sanitiser is present, drinks served to minimise contact. It was a pleasure all round. The pork was very good indeed!
Very substandard food. Possibly as it was a very busy Sunday trade. The food was a bit on the dry side, the service was evidently rushed. Some staff appeared to be doing us a favour by bringing missing items from our order. BBQ ribs = charred. Beef burger = dry. Pork belly = dry. Crackling = burnt. Scumpy = yummy Chips = yummy. Atmosphere = nice n traditional Price = fair too, shame about the food
Waited 45 minutes for an average prawn cocktail. Then had an average burger, chips were very good. Final bill contained items we hadn't ordered perhaps it was just an off day for them.
Lovely pub!! But that's where it stops, 19 people out for a booked meal, 3 onion intolerant - given a allergen menu to look at but nothing to look at under onion so pointless!! Then told chicken with lemon and herb couldn't be ordered as' More
Really nice pub went there for lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was very busy and apparently that is a normal day so definitely book in advance. There is not a lot of parking space we got the last space when we went. Really nice inside and nice food and huge portions! A few vegan options I really liked the vegan nachos also there chips are really nice and crispy. Very nice staff as well.
Oak on the Green is my favourite pub. Good food. Normally amazing. Good wine and beer. Very friendly service. Dogs are very welcome in bar area and there are tables to eat at in the bar too. The main dining room is always packed and cosy. Great outdoor area for eating and drinking, with big umbrellas for wet weather. Would definitely suggest booking ahead weekends and evenings. Theres a free car park but it often gets rammed so leave time to park as parking around the green can be tricky.
Been to the Oak a few times staff lovely, lots of choice of drink and food. The food is very nice and you large portions of food sometimes a starter for one is the same size you expect for a main meal would definitely recommend.
Very tasty food! Service was incredible, couldn't fault them at all. Will definitely be returning. Beautiful setting inside just to top it all off. Never leave there hungry there potions are double size. Not that I'm complaining haha!
Without doubt one of the best meals I've had for a while, outstanding. My family visited and I bought them here after having some nice meals previously. It was top notch, really busy but the staff were friendly, professional, and still had time to interact with my 3 year old daughter. My Dad is still raving about his fillet steak, saying it's the best he's had, and my ribeye was lush. Well recommended, book to avoid disappointment.
Lovely atmosphere, traditional British pub with tasty food. Natural wooden beams and brickwork, interesting decor and friendly staff. Would come here again.
Sadly, against the actual law this establishment wouldn t serve us unless we gave over our details for the useless track and race system, so we went back over the road to the much friendlier White Horse which didn t insist on this invasive measure
This is quite a big dining pub which had some nice real ales. I went early good job too as it filled up quickly. My burger was nicely cooked and moist with a lovely smoky taste but there were far too many chips, this could have been less and added a nice small salad. Overall it was much better than I expected.
LOVED this place! Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, GREAT "pub" food. If I lived in the area, I would frequent it.
Pictured: Chili: 5/5 stars. Great flavor. I ate it with some of my brothers chips/fries and it was incredible.
Greek Salad: 2/5. Yet exactly what I expected. Greek salad in a pub? So don't set your expectations high on this dish. I still enjoyed it because I wasnt expecting much and I was craving a salad. Presentation was really nice though (4/5 stars).
Smoked Fish Cake: 5/5. Amazing flavor. Great texture. Lovely presentation. I'd highly recommend you give these a try if you like fish. Especially smoked fish.
heard amazing reviews on this place and am visiting it my self very soon iv heard it's An amazing place to go and the food and atmosphere is amazing will review again once i have visited
absalult amazing place really friendly food and portions are amazing will defiantly be visiting again fair price for decent food absalutly amazing all round
Agreed they had problems with the gas and the full menu was not available, however the ploughman's lunch was quite mean and unimpressive given the cost ...have had better for cheaper...
Great food and attentive, if a bit slow on service. We were a large table on a Friday night though so as expected. Great atmosphere and lovely place. Recommend. Book early for Saturday nights.
Part of a table of 14 people, service inconsistent, food mainly overcooked and and a proportion sent back uneaten. Ignored when asked for bill. Overall unimpressed!!
Came all the way out here from recommendation from one of my friends. The pub is beautiful, staff super friendly, easy parking and very clean. I choose to have "An award winning large, local, handmade, free-range pork & sage sausage, served in a split, warm, buttered focaccia, with fried sliced onion, a pot of Colmans and a real mob of sea salted house chips" (See Picture attached. Minus the onion ring I had from my friend) I was SO disappointed, a sausage cut in half placed ontop of one slice of bread. I saw other peoples food coming out and it looked so hearty and yummy. But mine was measley! The waitress couldn't be kind enough, offered me another meal. But that dish needs to be completely rethought. Didn't get my onion or Coleman's. I'd probably go back. Just I'll pick better.
Food is always excellent, I'm a vegetarian and the options are extensive. Service always seems to be below par with food being slow to arrive but waitors and waitresses always have a smile
Really great pub. Came here for a birthday meal and had great food and a lovely sit in the garden in the sun. Fairly traditional pub fair, but the quality is much better.
Delicious food and beautiful interior. Fills up fast so get in before lunch rush or book a table. We were surprised the pricing is the same as London City so a bit high but the food was tasty
