The YMCA and the Livestrong program literally saved my life. I've gone from attending the Livestrong program, to a member, and now I'm an aqua fit instructor. I love this place...I love the people. And, my granddaughter is growing up happy here.

The staff is outstanding. You won't find a group of young people who care more about the lives of the kids they take care of. I highly recommend the summer camps. My boy can't wait to come back year after year.

This facility is fine for the gym, pool etc. However, volunteering for them is a nightmare! If you are volunteering for for your college or high school beware! They are so unorganized and play everything by ear. If you don't have a choice and you HAVE to volunteer for them I suggest you bring a sheet and get multiple signatures each day for proof. My hours ended up getting resolved because my school realized what the YMCA was doing, but don't trust this organization to help you recieve a good grade. I would think for a volunteer who dedicated so much time and energy that the Y would have at least appreciated me. If you can stay away do...if not just be over prepared and ready to clock your own hours with lots of proof.

The workout area is just so-so and not too big, can get overly crowded at times. The indoor pool is a nice amenity, but they need to crank up the heat. Anytime I've went there to swim it was quite cold.

I have used the track, water aerobics, some floor exercises, and the machines in my program. The special for the three sessions with a personal trainer was well worth the money. Andrea is excellent and I hope to do more with her as I continue my journey to better health.

I do not and WILL NOT recommend YMCA to anybody! I...

I do not and WILL NOT recommend YMCA to anybody! I am 8 months (high risk) pregnant right now and my husband had surgery on his bicep/shoulder last month. Before all these, we had our membership on hold because I was out of the country for over a month and my husband was so busy with work and life having to do everything by himself here in the U.S.
We didnt know my husband was gonna have a surgery and that I am gonna be pregnant before we requested the first membership hold or else we would have just cancelled our membership.
April 2019, they started charging us again. We explained to them and requested to put our membership on hold again for few more months because of our current situations. It's not that we couldnt afford the membership but it would be stupid to keep paying for something we're not going to use because we CAN'T PHYSICALLY DO IT. Like I said, I am a high risk pregnant patient and my husband just had bicep surgery and is still going through Physical Therapy and was told by his Doctor to not carry anything over 2lbs.
YMCA had the audacity to ask for a doctors note and then told us "they will do a one time courtesy of $5/month as a holding fee".
For one: YMCA, my husband does NOT work for you for your director to ask for a Doctors note. 2. We are the clients! You work for us! And finally, how dare you question our integrity? Why would we lie and spend time to try to reach out to you guys to explain the situation? We could have just easily cancelled our membership but we originally did not want to do that as we we're planning to stay with YMCA once my husband is recovered and I recovered after the birth of our child. After the ridiculous email from Luaren Wilson, the YMCA's membership sales director (O'Fallon), it showed us that they are not a True Christian organization. We will never step foot at any YMCA again and we will never recommend this company to anybody! It is ridiculous that they want us to provide a doctors note as to why we cant go to the gym. Again, 1 had bicep surgery and 1 is a high risk 8 month pregnant patient and they expect us to keep going to the gym or pay $5 monthly hold fee. Again, it's not the money, it's the principle. Don't be telling us you guys are sorry about our situation but we will still charge you. Not a good Christian practice!

Update: 05/04/19
I am appalled by how this company responded to my husband! Matt Jones, the executive director of this location emailed my husband with a threatening tone! Acting like we are harrasing Lauren. My husband only responded to her email once and that was it. We never made contact with her after that.
He also called my husband ignorant. This "Christian" organization calling (x)customers ignorant. Not only did he call my husband ignorant, he also accused my husband of contacting his employee via her personal Facebook which is a blatant LIE! My husband reached out to the YMCA Public Facebook page and not to anybody's personal Facebook. When I asked him to send me proof of this alleged "contact" like a screen shot of the alleged conversation, he refused to send anything and asked us to set up an appointment with him instead. Of course, coz he's got nothing!
This executive director is very arrogant and rude! I cannot believe the nerve of this person to accuse a customer like that AND THEN CALL SOMEONE IGNORANT!
No wonder they have low reviews and some employees dont know how to deal with people. It starts from the (no)leadership.

Avoid this place at all cost. Rudest director of any business I have known.

P.S
Watch out for some of the "5 stars" reviews and really listen to the legit reviews of people with real HORRIBLE experiences from YMCA OFallon. Majority is saying the same stuff because it's true. Matt Jones aggressively emailing us and calling my husband ignorant and Lauren Wilson feeling entitled to ask for a doctors note and these are the directors for this location. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay away from this place.

Just toured the facility. Registration fee waved till January 31 2016. Everyone seemed very welcoming, a lot of free classes included with membership. Evaluation to help set your goals and instruction on use of machine is of course included. Facility clean, well laid out. Security of all guests seem to be important.

My two children my parents and myself have been going to this YMCA for about 10 years. The staff is friendly and helpful, is always impeccably clean, tons of fun activities for kids and adults, and the child watch is always warm and welcoming and in fact it is because of the child watch that we became members. I did not trust leaving my children at the other gyms childcare facilities. Overall however the building has a warm and friendly presents and everything is always clean and in good working order. I love my YMCA, and so does my family. OK

I have been a member of the YMCA for four years, and it has truly changed my life. Not only have I lost twenty pounds and many inches, but I have made great friends! It is a diverse community of positive people. I like that this facility includes everyone and reaches out to the wider area. I highly recommend the YMCA O'Fallon!

The Ofallon Y is always a great experience for my daughter and I. She enjoys spending time in the Hub while I use the fitness facilities and we both like taking advantage of the swimming pool and water slide. My daughter also attends camp during the summer and has a great time with the variety of activities that are offered. The staff is always great and very helpful!

Came in at 8:30 pm and was told "Facility closes in 15 minutes". No Hello, how are you?, nothing. So the sign on the door that says 9:00 pm is incorrect. I thought I had 30 minutes. When someone tells you the time remaining, what they are really telling you is "Hurry up, I have stuff to do and want to be out of here by the closing time." The staff wants to shut everything down by 8:45 pm. The staff for the most part is very fake. They smile in your face and then do nothing basically to help you. Everything they do for you they act like it is a huge favor. Very unprofessional and rude staff for the most part. The good staff that I have met are Jessica, Malik Abdullah, Andrew, and Jerwayne. The rest are fake friendly. Don't expect coffee or for people to make you coffee. The coffee cut off is 2:00 pm and don't you dare expect any coffee after that. They act like it is liquid gold. I may cancel our memberships. We are new members, but the attitude around the place is horrible. Again most staff are terribly rude and unprofessional. Gym equipment is old and in need of maintenance. The pool is mostly all used and allocated by swim teams that are constantly there.

A life saver for moms of babies with no help around. I go work out, take a shower or just take a moment for myself while the Child Watch staff is taking great care of my toddler. He didn t like it at first but he took his own time and now he looks forward to his Y play time.

The front desk is always greeting you with a warm smile and makes you feel included. I love the atmosphere here as I see everyone taking care of their health, from the silver level ladies to the moms with young kids rushing to make it to class (like me).

I can t thank the Y enough, especially this O fallon MO branch.

Perhaps this may show a little bias, but my mother works as the Preschool Coordinator for the YMCA and has been teaching children this age for over 18 years. She loves children more than anything else in the world and takes their learning VERY seriously. I'm sorry to hear that "our6kids" had a bad experience, but I assure that the Preschool department is run with the utmost care.

I have been a member for a while now, most of the time the membership isntisused. Today i get a call stating they are cancelling my membrrship at the end of the month. My debit card was comprised and my payment yesterday didn't go through. I called and explained and staff member was not very nice. In all the time I have gone there I haven't found anyone very pleasant. When you check in the staff are too busy talking amongst themselves to even acknowledge you! So much for community atmosphere.

My husband, daughter and I are currently members and love the facility...from the workout setting to the pool. We currently have a swim instructor whom is really knowledgeable and helpful with making us comfortable with swimming. My daughter has participated in the summer camp and after school club and loves both programs...even though the prices seem a bit extreme for both the specialty and regular camps (based on the services offered in STL city for less money) she loves being around her school friends and meeting new friends. We have encountered a few racial situations that WE feel should have or could have been handled a little differently. All in all...the facility and staff is GREAT!

While I enjoyed the facility, there are some facts that you need to be aware of... my car window was shattered and my purse stolen this past Sunday at 1:00 in the afternoon while parked near the door. The police said they have tried to get the YMCA to install cameras for years with no success. I was in the building fir 15 mins. Criminals camp out in the parking lot watching to see if you take a bag in with you or if you have anything of value in your car. The YMCA boasts of being a "safe and nurturing" environment for kids. If you know there are criminals in your parking lot and choose not to do anything (cameras, security) about it then you should responsible for what takes place on your premises. And, how can you boast of a safe environment? I had no idea the number of incidents.... hundreds and hundreds of cases over the years.

A great family place. Friendly. I wish they would have more yoga classes with a variety of styles. When the teacher of the yoga class I was attending had to move out of state her class was replaced with a "Jiyo" class. This was completely different. I don't want a heavy workout. I would like pure yoga classes. This could be a personal thing and overall I think the place is great.

I have never been to the YMCA before, but I love the song. I like to think that every YMCA in the Milky Way Galaxy reflects these ideals. Because I too, believe, that it is indeed true to these lyrics. I like to believe that the writer of these songs must have stayed at the YMCA all of their life to be able to write the inspirational lyrics of this masterpiece of a poem. Here are the lyrics in case you have not heard this song. Once you hear this song you don't even need to go to the YMCA:

'Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you got to know this one thing!

No man does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the Y.M.C.A.
I'm sure they can help you today.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, I was once in your shoes.
I said, I was down and out with the blues.
I felt no man cared if I were alive.
I felt the whole world was so tight ...

That's when someone came up to me,
And said, young man, take a walk up the street.
There's a place there called the Y.M.C.A.
They can start you back on your way.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything for you men to enjoy,

Young man, young man, there's no need to feel down.
Young man, young man, get yourself off the ground.

Y.M.C.A.... you'll find it at the Y.M.C.A.

Young man, young man, there's no need to feel down.
Young man, young man, get yourself off the ground.

Y.M.C.A.... just go to the Y.M.C.A.

Young man, young man, are you listening to me?
Young man, young man, what do you wanna be?

Incredibly rude and unprofessional management at this YMCA.

Absolutely terrible staff at the YMCA O'Fallon Mo. Office. There are a few friendly staff members, but the leadership/management is absolutely terrible. The membership Director Lauren Wilson actually requested that I provide a medical note as to why I hadn't been in the gym. This was after I emailed her and told her I had bicep and shoulder surgery! I cannot believe the nerve of some people. I'm not sure where these folks come from, but this is not how businesses, especially Christian businesses, should act. Avoid this place like a plague!

The people at the Y in O'Fallon are awesome. They always make me feel welcomed when I come in to workout. My nieces love the swim lessons and playing volleyball! I'm on my moms family membership so it's nice to come workout as a family and stay fit. The child care staff don't just sit around and watch your kids play they actually play with them and teach them the letter of the day! I highly recommend being a member at the Y!

I wanted to rate no stars but I couldn't. I had my son in the fast-track preschool at this YMCA. He is one of seven kids and I have had plenty of experience with preschools. I have never had such a bad experience with a preschool as I did this one!! The teachers played favorites with the students and the parents. I also seen a racial incident to some of the foreign parents. I brought up some of my issues to the Vice President of this area and nothing was accomplished. The teachers lied to the VP and made it seem like I was lying. If you want to join the Y for the benefits of exercise then I would say yes. If you want to put your kids into one of the preschools, I would say prepare for disappointment, disgust, sadness, anger and wrong life lessons learned. Those teachers should thank the heavens that the YMCA doesn't care about their credentials and will hire failed educators to teach your kids.

O Fallon Family YMCA has been my family recreation center/ workout out center for 15 years. My kids grew up there learning how to swim then playing soccer and flag football in the youth programs. Don't take your family here to swim. I've been a Y member for 20yrs and I've never been treated this bad. The life guards were rude and didn't do their job at all. People were swimming in the kids area and expected the kids to move. We were expected to follow a bunch of rules we never heard of. Again life guards almost acted like kids were not allowed in the pool. Not coming back here

Frustrating to say the least! I signed my daughter up on the first day of early registration for softball, in March!! They waited until the week before it started to say that there wasn't enough kids and they were issuing refunds. Hmm, great, now that all registration for all other programs is closed, i have to break it to my 11 year old daughter that she cant play.. Even after buying hundreds of dollars worth of equipment, several hours practicing, and countless nights at the batting cages. Then to top everything off i paid in cash, they refused to redund it in cash or put it back on my card. So now 4 and a half weeks later my check was just printed today and will show up in another 7-14 days. They really dropped the ball with this and had the nerve to say that if i was a "member" this probably wouldnt have happened. Thanks YMCA!! Thanks alot

YMCA - O Fallon has become an integral Part of my life. Day feels incomplete without making a visit to this place at least once during the day.
I was a person who used to do heavy gym weights and thought that it s the way to be fit (dumb right!!!) After joining Y, I met some really good instructors, nutritionists who really know what works for an individuals body, their personalized programs and wide varieties of functional, cross training classes helped me a lot to loose the extra pounds that too with a smile on my face. I don t do crash dieting, I don t starve but I make sure to burn every bit of unwanted calorie that I intake during the day. Y taught me that being healthy is a lifestyle and not just a passing trend. I reduced 16 pounds in 7 months and continue to do so...
Moving into a new city is difficult if you don t know people around. I made some amazing friends who made my life so easy and fun.
Y is my second home!!

The trainers are awesome and the staff at the front desk makes one feel welcome when we check in.

Some of my favorite trainers are Connor, Alicia, & Ilda who make weight training and TRX a fun way to work out.

Other classes that I've enjoyed at Pilates taught by Jennifer. Yoga: Stacia.

A great place to work out and get healthy.

Nice facilities and clean. My complaint is that the pool is suppose to be heated and that is why we chose to go there. My 2 year old daughter has Juvenile Arthritis and being in the pool will help her. But every time we have gone the pool is freezing cold. I don t know how that is but every single time it s cold. Everything there is great except for the trainer Kristi Bradley, she constantly takes machines while they are in use and she acts petty if someone tells her you are using the machine, she does not follow her own guidelines on social distancing. She also speaks very condescending to guests. As parents I ve noticed she tends to favor older guests.

The YMCA O Fallon is a community that accepts diversity of all people and does so much to help people become healthier, stronger and to live a happier life .. My family of five uses the facility in some shape or form either by the amazing group exercise classes, the incredible competitive swim team and many other programs that are offered .. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly and the instructors of Zumba , Spin , BodyPump and many other classes are offered are the best !! The competitive swim team, coaches and family are just wonderful in every way .. It is a place where you see people of all ages , race , and culture embrace health, wellness and leading a active lifestyle!! I am thankful to see improvements being made throughout the facility because the environment counts and matters when it becomes your home away from home The members and community are truly what makes this place shine !! We have had a family membership for several years and I can honestly say because of the awesome accountability of other members and off the chart group exercise instructors I ve never been this consistent in my health and fitness journey! Thank you to each and every one that contributes and works at the YMCA O Fallon to make it an awesome place !!
