Novotel Amsterdam Review

Reception staff were extremely helpful. Room clean.
Breakfast had wide range of choices - particularly pleased by choice of seeds and dried fruits to supplement cereals and freshly squeezing orange juice machine.
Location great for station RAI which has links to the university and city centre.
Nearby Amstel Park is a Sunday morning delight.

Great Hotel, especially the restaurant and the bar area. Perfectly located very close to RAI center.

It is a novotel after all but just being on the outskirts of a beautiful city, in my view, does not justify the exaggerated price of approx. 205 euros per night (rate reserved for my company, however .....)

Excellent place 30 minutes from Central Station where usually all local tours generate and walking distance from railway and metro station. Excellent variety of breakfast dishes. Rooms are clean and staff friendly and helpful. My request for extra things needed in my room was done immediately. Value for money paid.

Really cool and great place. The employees where always helpful and friendly. The restaurant was good an nice. Breakfast was really great. The only caveat was the fitness center, where the rowing machine was broken. The other caveat was the elevators. Living in the middle when it was crowded, it was never possible to get an elevator.

I wouldn't expect anything more from this hotel.. The sleeping and bedding is great.. Facilities are great.. I can't complain about anything

Very nice lounge and restaurant. Huge diverse breakfast. The staff is very professional and the meeting rooms well organized. But that's it. The wifi doesn't always work properly (poor signal, disconnection, 24-hour login system), the standard rooms are not that nice, the room equipment and bathroom are very limited. The worst part is probably the waiting time at the restaurant, more than 25 minutes for a 4-scoop ice cream, and not even a third of the restaurant was full... For the price, I expected better.

Room very quiet and pleasant. Rich breakfast buffet and about 15 minutes walk to the RAI Exhibition Hall.

Modern and clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. You can easily reach the city center after a 2 min walk and 15 min tram ride.

We chose this hotel because we were near the RAI Amsterdam seminar center.
The double room was very spacious.
No noise and no inconvenience.
The restaurant is very good too.
The reception is very attentive.

I was here for a conference and the hotel has truly thought of everything. From USB charging ports to energy drinks at check-in and great showers. I was really impressed and so were my clients.

It is a new and modern hotel in its decor, very comfortable, nice, spacious, clean and quiet rooms, comfortable double bed, very large shower in the room. The room was equipped with a TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and the right connections for electrical outlets. The friendly staff is always available. A real highlight is the breakfast. I highly recommend it

I had a drink of an event here. Nothing to complain.

Easy to reach from the airport and from the city center. Quite quite area. Small, comfortable and clean room and very comfortable mattress. Good soundproofing.
Personnel is polite (yes, just polite).

So the hotel is not entertained me but provided all I need for the rest after work.

Small, but clean and nice room. A bit tight for three people. Beds are comfortable. Good to have a shower with a bathtub. Staff are very nice and friendly, always happy to help with any issue. Great breakfast buffet. So many selections and fresh and delicious food. My favorites are the fresh squeezed orange juice, cappuccinos and made to order omelettes. Will definitely be back. Thanks!

Edit: reception desk lines during peak times could be very long. Just waited 30 minutes to check out. Lowering to 4* after that experience.

The hotel room was comfortable and the staff friendly.

However, the shower flooded the bathroom (there must have been a block further down the drain), the shelf in the shower wasn't attached properly, and the reading light by the bed didn't work.

I reported all these issues in the morning and got back late the second night.

Nothing was sorted, and the shower flooded the bathroom again the next day.

I understand that things go wrong, but was not impressed that the issues had not been fixed.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The service was excellent. The food was great as well.

Perfect location - 5 mins walk from Amsterdam RAI station, and 10 mins by train from Schiphol Airport. Also conveniently connected to Amsterdam Centraal by the number 4 tram or number 51 metro.

The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Check in was easy. The hotel is clean and comfortable.

Okay food and service, but an odd smell of burning plastic filled the room.

Convenient option if you need to be near the Zuidas / Southaxis . Decent hotel with okay service. A bit self-service atmosphere. Rooms are clean, well-supporting mattress. Bathroom in executive room is too small. Actually executive room is same size as standard room so not worth the extra money. Probably the only difference is a nespresso machine.. it s not cheap but cheaper than hotels in city center so that s the trade-off.

The hotel has stolen expensive earrings, security does not do anything. Be carefull!

Well ... this is the one and only hotel I toured in Europe, which is in Amsterdam, the hotel is huge. Dining place Outside. Lobby is also great. Luxury. Complete facilities. Food is also good. You need to stay here if you want to feel the satisfaction of Polll ...

My room was attached to an adjoining room and sound proofing was poor. I had a bad night sleep because I could hear a lot of noise. Mobile phone ringing constantly, loud voices and doors slamming, all after midnight and I had to be up the following day 06:30 for work.

No snacks in the room, no milk for coffee.

Finally, I opted for speedy checkout but my invoice still has not been sent to me, as promised.

Great hotel for a meeting on the outskirts of Amsterdam ..

I enjoyed the stay, good hotel and services. Close to RAI exhibition hall for conference. Only problem was the hotel computer system. My stay included days beyond the particular exhibition (different night rate). Had to have two separate reservations, recheck in to continue staying. Upon leaving, computer system failed and could not generate billing, and no operation on paper in case of failure.

Still looking for my billing to file my travel expense report for my company now that I have returned

Cheap hotel in a quiet location.
Public transport is good and within easy walking distance.

Awesome hotel with a short walk to station RAI. If you don't mind taking a tram to city center, then this is a perfect place to stay. Amstel park right across the street is fantastic as well.

Nice upscale place conveniently located with good rooms and a good restaurant, but I had a terrible time there, just this once.

Service unfortunately lets you down a bit, especially when the hotel is full. It was rather surprising that they could not arrange for a iron, apparently because the hotel was full. While I respect Novotel's high eco friendly standard, this was a big let down. I didn't expect this after paying a hefty amount for the room. The diver at the restaurant was also drab with very slow service... Like 20 minutes to just get a drink! This was my third time at this place, and clearly they were unable to manage the crowd.

The wildest was the elevators in the morning... Almost 20 minutes to come down because 2 elevators are out of service. It really does not get more difficult than this. I checked out 4 days early and moved to another hotel.

That said, it's still a nice place with one of the best breakfast you can get and is almost the first hop from the airport as you hit the city. I suppose it was just one bad experience for me.

This time, I stayed in the old room for the first 3 days and stayed in the newly renovated room for the other 2 days.

There is no bathtub in the room with a desk, there is no desk in the room with a bathtub.
There is no explanation of how to use the shower. Suddenly, water was falling from the upper shower.
The rooms so far are calm and easy to use.

Please note this is not the Amsterdam city center. It is however conveniently located close to public transport, train, tram, subway.

Good place for meetings in Amsterdam, handy next to the ring road. Should only have a little more parking space.

Room was adequate. Breakfast was good. Restaurant was expensive. No restaurants nearby. After first day we made sure we ate before returning to the hotel.

This hotel is close to airport and away from the city hustle bustle. Standard Novotel property, with good breakfast spread, rooms were little small, good connectivity with metro station just 5 min walk

Beautiful hotel with deep soaking tubs in the room. The Continental breakfast has many options to choose from and is very good. Only down side is that you only get one room key

Everything was pretty good, except the elevators. No elevator has a working "close the door" button. As a result, in some periods of time it can take up to 10 minutes to go down.

Nevertheless, it was a great stay. And definitely the hotel is very good!

Hard to fault. Some noise from the motorway nearby, and sometimes I find it annoying that there is no real minibar anymore. Was staying for work, WiFi worked well and that is also important.

There is a super life hack: if you ask not to clean the room, then you will be given a voucher to the bar for 5 euros. Great breakfast and spacious room. The center can be reached by metro or tram

Nice to get a drink if the room is not cleaned every day. I got bored of the breakfast Buffet but that's ok

Very good and clean hotel, well located. However beds are awfool. First time in a Novotel, will be the last.

It offers what you can expect from it. It is not excellent but it fulfills perfectly. Very good staff treatment, breakfast and food quite acceptable and clean. Only two blocks away there is public transportation to the center. It is a hotel focused on business and event clients.

The hotel was easy to find and conveniently next to a train station.
The rooms were clean with the beds extremely comfortable. Nice selection of snacks and Dutch craft beer downstairs.
The staff were amazing with answering all our questions and holding our luggage until we traveled out of Amsterdam.
Will definitely try to stay again!
