Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Reviews

It was the first time in the renovated theater, I used to go often, but for the last 8 years I lived in another city and there was no way to visit NOVAT. I really liked everything from the wardrobe to the stage! The staff is polite, neatly dressed, mostly young guys and girls meet and escort the audience, check tickets, monitor the order in the hall and lobby of the theater. The chairs in the hall are comfortable enough to spend almost 3 hours in them. We sat in a high ground on the 12th row, it was clear that both the general plan of action on the stage was visible, and it was possible to make out the faces and makeup of the actors. The buffet works on the second floor, but on each floor there are tables with the products of the cafe: champagne, sandwiches, cakes .. True, the queue in the cafe is huge and you can not have time to eat during the intermission. If the viewer is late to return to his seat after the third call, then he can continue to watch online on the screen in a cafe or try to enter the hall, but they can put him in other empty seats, if any, so as not to disturb other viewers. The performance of the ballet dancers really liked, as well as the musical accompaniment, light, staging, costumes, make-up, scenery and the use of new technologies in the form of special effects. Everything is at a high level. Prices are reasonable compared to the Bolshoi or Mariinsky, if the artists are local, then from 500 to 3000 rubles. Tickets for the high stalls cost 2000 rubles. I got a real pleasure from visiting the theater, I will definitely come again!

This is one of my favourite theaters! Anytime being in Novosibirsk, I try to visit it. Perfect orchestra and ballet dancers, as well as opera singers. I do recommend the theater to everyone.(The tickets are available online).

The biggest ballet stage in Russia, where we watch the Nutcracker ballet, is a magnificent structure with a dome diameter of 65 and a height of 35 meters.

Amazing place. Absolutely awesome and truly entertaining. I regret I had no opportunity to get here earlier, but anyway - it's never too late to start something good.

I m used to the fact that opera is the pride of our city. And going there was perceived as a holiday, always. True, I went to ballets. This season I attend opera. I always heard that the acoustics in our theater are "not very", but so much !! In general, nothing is clear and not heard on the 1st row of the mezzanine. Was on "Prince Igor" and "Bat."
But I didn t like it at all, the staff. Like I owe him something. Everyone is sitting in the cell even at intervals. I needed to take a thing from a fur coat, for 5 minutes no one wanted to come up, shouting, figured out whose token, without looking up from the phone. Also, safety, not paying attention to visitors, only in the cell. Well, at least during the intermission, put it in your pocket!
I m ashamed of the cafe. Prices are such that people bring juice, chocolates.

The place is wonderful. In my opinion, it is very beautiful in itself, and the people who come there make it even more beautiful. I immediately noticed that people were preparing for a cultural event and looked the same. This has ceased to be taken as a rule in our time. Come who in what way.
Excellent production. Acting at a high level. Takes for the soul. I have long wanted to see the opera "Pagliacci" live. And he did not regret at all that he had visited it in the Novosibirsk theater. In short, I received a huge amount of emotions and positive energy, and even for a relatively small amount of money. I would go every week.

The prettiest opera and ballet theater of the last century

Very beautiful theater. The building is beautiful both outside and inside. Spacious foyer, large wardrobe, showcases with theatrical costumes, some completely theatrical interior, a wonderful buffet and various other moments that make the theater an honor. Were on the ballet "Sleeping Beauty", was afraid that my five-year-old child would behave obscene, because she would be uninteresting. But all three of the performances of the play, she practically did not tear herself away from the scene. That's what the great power of art means!

The Theater itself is of incredible beauty, and bravo to the ballet dancers !!!!

I watched the classic production of "Swan Lake". Impressions are great! The theater building is huge and elegant. Carpets on the floor and cleanliness! The staff are attentive, nice.

Do you know over the finale of which opera the heroine of Julia Roberts cried ???? Of course, it was La Traviata! Today in Novosibirsk they give Traviata !!!! Everything is amazing! Voices, the production itself, costumes, the hall! Amazing halls, furniture, interior, ......... All this makes the theater a theater!

Wonderful! Convenient parking, a spacious wardrobe, a wonderful room. Children are given cushions on the seat - raise for a better view. Orchestra! It's a miracle! "The Nutcracker" for the new year is a wonderful performance!

We went with Mummy to the "Flying Mouse". It's great, the orchestra is amazing, the singers are the gorgeous voices, the chic costumes. Everything is fashionable, modern, sang in different languages. Well, the holiday is 100% complete. As a bud, I visited Germany. Everything swept so fast, the chairs comfortable. Thank you very much. All the best words and kisses to you !!!

Went and saw The Nutcracker. They've renovated the auditorium and it's pretty modern now. Seats thousands. You have to go through security and photography is not allowed.

Impressive if seemingly grossly oversized for the need for a dedicated opera house in this economically challenged city. Glad of the access to arts, but maybe a more diverse facility would better suit the locals. Who knows? It s certainly interesting and imposing to look at.

We went to the ballet twice. Elegant here everything. Starting from the building itself, (it is not surprising that this is one of the main sights of the city), continuing with the interior (very beautiful, and the hall itself is amazing), ending with ballet. Costumes and actors at altitude. We will definitely come again if we are in Novosibirsk.

Very nice small scene, the effect of presence is absolute. A wonderful orchestra, a charming pianist in intermissions. The performers were mostly pleased. There was, however, one exception. But artistic art, it seems to me, leaves much to be desired. I liked only the play of the artists Thriller and Komov.

Grandiose performances, especially liked The Nutcracker. Beautiful festive interior.
Of the minuses:
- non-cash payment for food is possible only in the buffet room
- crowds of people and unorganized spontaneous queues. All the charm dissolves in an unorganized crowd and lines, whether at the entrance, in the wardrobe, or in the buffet. It can be done much better, for example, with a snake pattern, like in airports

Were at the Nutcracker performance, really enjoyed it. Colorful and atmospheric spectacle, with a bunch of beautiful scenery. I recommend this place for the cultivation of a few pictures attached, shot at your own risk, because you can not take pictures, you like)

I visit our Opera with great pleasure. I am sure that the theater is not only an entertaining institution, plays have to develop an outlook and bring up a good taste ... for today, in my opinion, the last productions can be reliably attributed to the level of musical theater than the theater of opera and ballet. Opera, as always, is on top. Magnificent ballet, the skill of performers. In the small hall, the productions of operettas are amazing. Academic voices are simply mesmerizing with their performance. And the whole atmosphere of the theater is permeated with a holiday, no matter what day you come to the performance.

Worth watching any one show. I watched the ballet "sleeping beauty". You can buy tickets online with seat selection even from your own country before arriving in Russia. I did and I didn't have to stand in queue at the ticket counter. Plus, with advanced booking, I was able to select a decent seat near to the stage (if you buy late, only distant seats or costliest seats may remain for sale - Ballet is all about visuals and seat selection is most important.) The opera hall is gorgeous, though not allowed to take photos. Do wear your best dress underneath your warm clothing (if visiting in winter). Nice arrangements for security and cloak room.

An incredible place, with excellent energy, stylish and elegant chic. A comfortable room with amazing acoustics and majestic decoration matched with feeling and style at the junction of several times. This theater cannot be compared with the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater.

I was invited to Giselle by russian. A very nice theatre which transported for me somewhat a gone Russian area with classical architecture. Seats and view to stage was very well and a relaxed audience. Very impressive was the arrangement on the stage in conjunction of great lighting. Finally I have to stress a great performance of the Ballett dancers. Even as a non-Profi visitor you could see high level Ballet.

Since intermissions became half an hour the plays started to end very late. As time goes by more original productions are getting replaced by gaudy and tasteless ones. As it has been done with the interior.
