No one want to be in a situation where they need to be in hospital. However, if you are, I can tell you from my personal experience of Novant Charlotte has been nothing bar excellent.
The staff in Neuro ICU are amazing, so calm, caring and professional. Every procedure is explained in layman terms and nothing is to much trouble.
Some personal shout outs go to NP Lynn ( she needs to be cloned; says it how it is, which is what we needed to hear and is a credit to the nursing profession). Dr. McWilliams, Dr Miraj, thank you for keeping us so well informed. The ENT team Katy, Dr D - thank you.
To the day and night nurses you are my heroes, Jermaine, Katie, Christon, Elizabeth, Hanah, Raven ( thank you for the phone call ) Kisha, Mary Katherine, Stephen ( night staff). I know there are names I have forgotten please forgive me the whole experience has been a bit of a blur.
To the respiratory therapists who have worked so hard for and with my brother. You are simple the best
Hannah and Micheal to name only two.
The physiotherapist Lauren (Crystal Palace supporter). Rodney ( Peaky Blinder) and all the other physio's you have helped on this road to recovery, and I salute you for positive energy and sense of humour. So needed in this type of situation.
Thank you too Bill, who always has a friendly smile and word to say. It's the little things that help.
The team work, camaraderie and professionalism of all the staff in Neuro ICU is amazing and my family and I will never be able to thank you enough.
I know we will have other profession to see such as speech therapy and OT, and a long road ahead of us but keep doing what you do at Presbyterian Novant. You are amazing.
Kind regards Geraldine
