Incompetent staff at jacks place ward. My son stayed at the jacks place ward after a 2 day stay for breathing difficulties. On the morning he was discharged the doctor went round every bed except my sons bed. A nurse come to my sons bed and told us my son could leave and gave us some papers relating to rent discharge. I thanked her and took our belongings and son and left and said goodbye to the rest of the staff at the front desk of the ward. I later found out they should have given us medicines and and special children's inhaler device as my son was supposed to take medication ever few hours and yet no one bothered to provide and medication or inhaler device or any instructions or advice on leaving. Incompetent staff which need urgent retraining.

6 hours+ and was still waiting to be seen by a specialist doctor as well as getting tests and an xray.. was sent to A&E from UGC by a Dr. Some nurses and docs are good. Nurse Suzie Chauhan was fantastic, polite, caring and would update as she knew I'd been here for far too long .
Some staff just want u out quick lol or are rude . Some other nurses don't know how to do a blood test and make lots of blood leak out from arm . Some staff don't know how to treat people properly or with respect and dignity. Sometimes staff forget things and make u wait around for nothing!! and they don't give you correct information and they don't apologise. Some Hospitals/Docs are a joke nowadays..they can only "help u " with "one problem". was stuck at this hospital from 1pm-9pm . Ridiculous!
Word of ADVICE: Use public transport to get here. Parking is tight, a nightmare and expensive!

Maternity department is a joke I just had an my first scan today and, the experiment was awful, I felt there was not enough information was given, the scan was all together no more than 5 minutes, I didn t feel comfortable with the doctor and when I asked her that she didn t explain everything to me she told me to go and read from the report she has printed. This is my second baby and for my first I was in royal free hospital and they were amazing. I am very unhappy.

I attended with my 3-year old who'd fractured her shoulder. We were treated extremely kindly and efficiently by the excellent nurse practitioner we saw who explained his thoughts and the diagnosis clearly. The x-ray team were also kind and efficient. All the staff's communication skills with me and my daughter were excellent and they put us both at ease. I felt the whole process was excellent. Thank you Northwick Park urgent care team.

The worst ever hospital system .

The worst ever hospital system .

I Had to cancel an appointment and I called the phone number on the text message to cancel. No one picks that number. I have been trying for 5 days . Finally got a chance to leave a voice message to cancel but after a few days I got another text message about the appointment .

I tried Hospital main number and idiots sitting on the phone transfer you without listening to you properly. And you get through after 17-20 people waiting in line . And when I got transferred , after ages some one picked and I heard Hospital noise but then without saying anything , after listening to my hello, some one just kept the phone.

Idiots sitting on the other side

Staff doing a great job in Dickens Ward, though the heat is not conducive for patients, visiting friends and family and of course the staff. I wonder if the senior management are sitting comfortably in their offices. I'm sure the trust could have rented some mobile a/c units in the interim when this weather was predicted more than a week ago.

Slovenly, dirty and uncaring mainly with the odd caring person working there. Few and far between. A complete shambles, so many people are terrified of going there. My mother pleaded not to have to go in there because she said she wouldn't come out again. She was right.

Really unprofessional and not setting up the appoiments correctly. For 5 times already I have been waiting 1,2 hours after my appoiment time has been scheduled and they always don't know what happen. There are many pregnant ladies which feeling unwell or has another appointment, or has to go somewhere and because always there are delay like more then 10 , 15 minutes , the plans are going to run over .
Really disappointed.

It's the usual story; the doctors alone would get five stars but the Admin is utterly appalling. The Pharmacy is useless too. I have regular medication that requires periodic blood tests, which I have as required, but they regularly refuse to dispense the medication the doctor prescribed on the grounds that I was overdue for a blood test - complete nonsense, of course. I guess it's the usual story - too many administrators, too few doctors.

worst experience ever, waited 7 hours to be told to leave. in that time I saw 2 nurses who could have easily made a value judgement but did not. just ridiculous they can waste 7 hours of my life, with not even an apology for the delay. no reasons given either. was told multiple times by a receptionist that blood work should take 1.5 hours yet I was made to wait four hours while the waiting room was completely empty. organisation there is a shambles and when I was finally met with a doctor, he was blunt and rude and then walked off for 10 minutes, not even bothering to let me know what was going on, leaving me with a canular still bloody stuck in my arm.

Very poor services. My mother was in the hospital for over 6 weeks due to a infection. she was admitted 3 times because doctors failed to find the infection. I work for the NHS too but i have never seen poor services like this ever. Im very disappointed. The only reason the ambulance brough my mother to NPH was because its the closes one. Tip to anyone reading this, If you have a serious problem/infection/or anything, dont come to THIS hospital. Worst one ever.

I have never been to worst place like this before. I came by 20:00 and it's going to be 23:00 and I asked reception how long would take after 2 hrs and she said 14 patients before me. I asked them again after 45 minutes and was the same answer. I have seen many lepeopcame after me and they got in. But they won't tell you how long does it take for your turn. And reception ladies replied me waiting time is 4 hrs. What a bloody s**t.....I got tired and now even cant go back after waiting 3 hrs. Never visit this hospital.

Went to A&E with my child as referred by our GP, I handed the letter from our GP to the receptionist, which she read. The letter stated that my daughter was to be seen by the peadicatrician and it was to be treated as urgent. The lady told us to wait in the adult waiting area to our right. My daughter is 10. I asked her if we should go to the paediatrics waiting area in the door behind us, she said no wait to be called by the dr in the adults waiting area; so that's what we did. We went in on a Monday approximately 7.30pm, we were seen my the doctor at 11.00pm. The doctor who saw us asked who told us to come here, we should be in paediatrics. I told him the woman at the desk, he asked if I knew her name, I did not. He took me to the desk and asked another lady(the other receptionist must've finished her shift) at the reception desk to book be in to be seen at the pediatrics. Because of the first receptionist's mistake we were waiting all over again. We werent seen until 4.00am in the morning and got home just before 5.00am! I had a 3 month old baby with me as I was breastfeeding. I dont understand how she made the mistake of making us wait in the adult waiting area when 1. My child is 10years old and 2. She had the letter from my GP in front of her stating she needed to be seen in the paediatric ward urgently. Completley waste of our time.

Hi,

Hi,

Thursday the 5th of March we called 111 about 3 30 in the morning;

Our baby, Michael Bjorn Buliga , nearly 1 year old, was coughing and was breeding fast, struggling to breed.

An ambulance came 15 min later to check him, they were very lovely and communicative;

They advised we should come to A&E in order for Michael to get checked by a specialist;

As we got here things went on very smooth, checked Michael, giving him some treatment, also, decided to keep him a bit longer for observation.( Michael was having a very fast pulse and was short of oxygen when sleeping);

Shift has changed about 8 in the morning, when 2 doctors came to see him;

Later on one of the doctors told they will take a sample from my baby's nose " to make sure nothing is growing there";

A few nurses came to take the sample, together with Senior Nurse;

When they got out senior Nurse said " once the test for flu comes back, we will know where he will go, either to ward or home, it's a shame to waste and here.";

About 11 am another doctor came in, she tried 2 inhaler treatment on baby, none worked;

About 1 pm I heard them saying Michael's test came back as negative, nobody told me anything..;

Until 3 pm nurse Diya came and checked on temperature and oxygen level;

I would now like to mention that we are a family of migrants, from Romania. Been here for over 5 years, working and paying taxes.

My husband's English is not perfect, and I haven't been talking much with them present, the am shift I mean.

But I am sure that is not the right way to treat us.

Our baby is unwell, we saw that and decided to get help. We came here because we want help, but they are keeping us here, without knowing what is happening to our baby, insinuating we would abandon our child in hospital, running tests without letting us know what they actually are- us Michael's parent's we had the right to know, rather that telling us "something growing in his nose"-what is that????

I will post this on your website, and everywhere on social media, I don't want this to ever happen to anyone who, unlike us, might understand less.

I hope you will get back to me and at least apologise. As for us, 4 pm, in same room, nothing changes. I hope God will look after our child, because your staff won't even look at us.

Regards,

Adriana Buliga

Awful, just awful. Not enough parking facilities at all, all car parks completely full. Very poor. Forced to park in neighbouring residential village. Hospital is extremely difficult to navigate around. Signage very poor and ended up using staff lift by accident, as no signs stating that it was staff only.

Disgusting attitude of a lady I called to the mental heath ward fernley ward at 1628 today! No help what so ever.
Unfriendly and wouldn't help me contact my mother. I have been calling up numerous times for the past few weeks and I haven't been able to speak to my mum numerous times and they come up with an excuse every time!
I have called the fernley ward multiple times and they are unbelievable the way I've been spoken to on every single phone call.

Having been transferred from switchboard to the relevant department yesterday, I was on hold for near enough 30 minutes. I then searched for a direct phone number online which I called and waited for another 15 minutes before deciding the phone wasn't going to picked up so I hung up. Absolutely appalling treatment of the public. The phones must be manned so clearly staff are ignoring phonecalls. I appreciate hospitals are busy but from previous reviews I can see this is a regular occurance.

Honestly with what is going on right now, I give so much credit to the ambulance staff as well as the doctors treating patients for Covid as they are under so much pressure. I would like to say a huge thankyou for doing your best to save my mother's life, she is back home in time for my birthday and it's thanks to yourselves who initially took care off her in ICU before sending her on to another hospital. I will always be greatful

Try to avoid this Hospital if you can, Gynecologist and Fertility department at least.
Staff and doctors in general are really unmotivated and unhappy, they look miserable in their job and you have to deal with their frustration regarding the manners, their professionalism and really making you feel like you are not important at all for them.
I've been there in 6 occasions and the last time I felt that unconformable that I promised myself not to come back again.

I was fairly apprehensive when my GP referred me to Northwick Park for an X-Ray, as I read so many negative reviews here. Especially these days, with the pandemic clogging up a lot of the NHS.

I had nightmares of getting shouted at by rude staff, or trying to find my way to Radiology because nobody would help me...None of that happened! Yes, it's not the prettiest to look at, and the layout can be slightly confusing, but the staff was nice. They were polite and helpful, and I had to wait barely 5 minutes before being called in by the (very nice and friendly) radiologist. I was in and out quickly, and there were no problems doing, or receiving the results of, my X-ray.

We've been here a number of times over the years for various personal and child-related issues and every single time it's been ... good. If it's minor, you have to wait a while, if it's life-threatening, they see us quickly and we get fixed up.

The building is about as horrid and unattractive as it gets, but the service and people inside make it entirely worthwhile for us. We're glad it's relatively nearby.

Came in as an ambulance emergency case on Sunday morning 16th February and cannot have asked for better treatment. The ambulance crew were brilliant. I was seen, scanned, medicated and placed in an acute ward within a few hours, later moved to a less acute ward before my discharge to Charing Cross for continued treatment a couple of days later. All staff managed and treated me with respect and compassion. Northwick Park hospital has not had the best reviews in recent years but I saw none of this, just highly committed staff with a "can do" attitude and a very impressive experience. Thank you all.

Fielding Ward staff are the absolute epitome of what healthcare service should be. From the moment my mother in law was admitted last month to her passing just a few hours ago, we felt that they could not do more to help. They showed empathy & compassion. We felt so supported and cared for throughout by so many of the staff members we encountered. Dr Thom was amazing. A special mention to the night duty nurse Anna and also Kelly from the palliative team who pretty much held our hands for the past few days and eased our grief. What an amazing job you do all do. I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Lisa & John

Long live the NHS!

Came 30mins early, spent 45mins looking for parking. A new carpark is being built in the north east side which will be great in the future. Despite being late, the staff were able to squeeze me in.

I wish they would improve the signage. For, example, I follow the signs to ultrasound, only to be told I have to go around through another entrance. Why not have the signs point there in the first place.

The service has really gone worst. It s terrible the long waiting hours and staff s attitude. My mum was in an agony. She had been in and out of hospital a lot with various different illness. First of all there were no seats available for sick person. Not just her but many others. The staff were not at all friendly to other patients. When finally seen by doctor almost 3 hrs wait, obviously out of concern I asked if it s trap nerve as she s had terrible pain and had to be bed rest for weeks, instead of empathising with the patients he says I have 4 trap nerve in my back and it s normal. Seriously?! There was no sign of pain. He then tells her what she should do, I requested him to print it he says it s on nhs website, he has no access to internet. Again seriously?! I ve been there before and doctors in the past were empathetic and helpful, printed required information. GP clearly needs more training on how to tear their patients like human. NHS service is not free we do contribute towards tax and we don t hesitate to pay so we expect good treatment that s the least I hope we can expect. Really upsetting

The WORST hospital I have ever been to. They are so uderstanffed. I was put in a plaster room (even though they had beds to put me on) with a sign outside that said do not do any sterile procedures in this room. It is unsterile to which they put the canular needle on the FLOOR and injected it in my arm. No one know what anyone else is doing, it is a shamble.

Staff are amazing and try their best! But unfortunately hospital run down and outdated! Everything seems to drag on, doctors and nurses are too busy.
And it seems things take long because of this. There is no technology to make things flow more efficiently whole protocall and way hospital operates is outdated.
Building looks half derelict.
Reminds me of walking dead zombie movie.

I checked into A&E at 20:30 on Monday 18 Feb 2019 having had abdominal pain all day. Within the next 4 hours I was put through a whole series of tests including ECG, blood tests, chest and abdomen xrays, urine test and a CT scan. These tests confirmed I had acute appendicitis and surgery was scheduled for 09:00 the next morning. It was keyhole surgery under general anesthetic. By 12:00 it was all over, and I felt no pain at all. The whole procedure had run smoothly and I was discharged the next day. I have nothing but the highest praise for all the staff, medical and non-medical, who acted with the utmost care and consideration for their patients. The NHS is in very good hands at Northwick Park Hospital. Thank you all very much, from a grateful patient.

Unacceptable waiting times in the Urgent care department. Tonight was the third time we ever needed to go there. All times the waiting time was approximately 4 hours. A total disaster, lazy, rude and racist employees. The nurses sometimes seem like they don't know what they are doing ... laughing inbetween the hallways playing arround and paying no attention to anything ... this hospital needs more supervision from external auditors as some doctors and nurses are there only to pass their time freely without any responsabilities.... In regards to telephone service, it is impossible to communicate with the correct department ... the situation is very chaotic ...

Our Little Ones was born in Northwick Park Materni...

Our Little Ones was born in Northwick Park Maternity Centre. We moved into the area when wife was 4 months pregnant and we were unsure about the hospital as reviews of the maternity centre were mixed. Initially we were concerned because of the reviews but boy we were wrong and we are glad it was that way.

My wife went through lots of hardships due to some minor complications and had to go through almost each unit in Maternity - Antenatal care, Day assessment Unit, Birth centre, Delivery Unit, Neo Natal Unit, and Post Natal care. our experience throughout the delivery was really amazing, the staff were patient, comforting and helpful at all times. We could not have asked for more and we are really thankful to each and every staff of this hospital who made it possible to make us Proud Parents that we are today.

As the stats say, happy people do not write reviews (us including) and hence not so positive reviews I would assume. Hence would ask people who read reviews to ask around and enquire further to know more about this really good hospital.

I was at Northwick Park hospital last night (3am 8/12/2017) and I felt that my life was at the end its was long wait but I could see how much the doctors have to delivery without taking any credit or thanks from public that was there.
I believe this doctor with the irish asccent (unfortunately I was too sick to pay attention to his name, I honestly would love to mention his name) but I saw with my own eyes how good and caring he was with the patients there after he was done with me I thanked him and as I was walking out the door with the feeling that I was going to be ok, I looked over my shoulder and I saw him picking up all the rubbish from the floor and cleaning everything just to get ready serve the next person in need.
The staff was amazing as well thank you guys I wish you all the best.

I visited Northwick Park this afternoon Friday 29 Sept 2017 with a severe chest infection. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the reception staff, to the nurse at Triage desk where I was promptly referred to the Emergency Department. Again the standard of care in the ED did not disappoint. Thank you too to all the Doctors & Nurses in ED to the X-ray team and to the nurses on the recovery ward who even went to great lengths to successfully find me a phone charger I know you were all extremely busy but each and everyone of you went the extra mile so thank you.

I gave her my details and my complaint.l thought it was a health care centre.There was begging inside the hospital waiting area with ladies with small children who were shaking empty coffee cups.l mentioned the begging situation to a member of staff and she said,"they are good people from my village back home".

Overloaded UGC. Administration and management is utterly abysmal. Departments cannot talk to each other. Patients treated like a number that need to get off their list. Only thing humane about the hospital is the health staff, Docs and nurses. The north west trust management need to be taken to account. But i guess they pay people off after they mess things up due to poor administration off our own tax money.
You get told to come for an emergency scan on sunday. No other contact after that. Come sunday every dept you call does not either pick up or they are clueless about the query. I had to walk into a ward and ask a doctor and nurse to help us get the emergency scan.

Northwick park hospital turning into a DIY hospital. (Other hospitals have been brilliant) Northwick park hospital rightly deserves its notoriety. Fire the administration and hire more nurses and docs. Northwick park management utterly incompetent!

Atrocious service, dirty wards and bathrooms. The fletcher ward was filthy as you walked in. If you re lucky, the nurse might give you wipes and ask you to clean the dirty bathrooms yourself. If you want to survive, make sure you ask what medicine they re giving, as it can get confusing with so many patients and lack of nurses/drs on shift. Nurses lack concentration whilst dealing with the patient. They need to be reminded to take out canula on time or to dispose needles once used!!
Have lost 3 of my loved ones, if they had been given the proper medical treatment without delays they would be with me today. Its weird how someone can deteriorate so fast overnight at these hospitals.

Took my dad to A&E unit recently - someone had put down incorrect symptoms on his file. Luckily we read and questioned this or else he would have been given unnecessary medication. When the healthcare worker took the temperature and put the thermometer down we asked if it was normal, he apologised and said he hadnt checked.

Its not worth giving 1 star!!!
