In 2014 I had my first child there, it was a fairly good experience. Now I am pregnant with my second, due in 2 weeks and the services they offer are absolutely outrageous, postponed appoiments staff that are not interested in their jobs, rude, late in open the antenatal clinic. I really regret choosing this hospital, makes the experience of having a baby so depressing caused me and the baby so much stress In one visit more than carrying the baby in 9 months. I would not recommend it to anyone

The new A&E building here is so much better than that dilapidated building they had before. we spent about 10 hours in the kids area of the new A&E and the set up there is miles better than it used to be.

Spoke to Dr Gupta at 2:06pm, call lasted 20minutes been told the ambulance will be with my wife (who is 6 months pregnant) within an hour. It is 7:50pm I have called 999 twice they stated that they are horribly busy - what do you do? Pretty awful that my sick wife wasn t seen to.

Dreadful. Picked up by emergency ambulance that offered me zero reassurance in the height of agonising pain then proceeded to ask me questions while I was unable to speak, then expected me to walk to the ambulance and down the hospital corridor with no assistance when I was crippled over with agony. Upon being released, no duty of care at all. I had no phone, no glasses so I could hardly see and just a dressing gown with nothing underneath stained with diarrohea from anaphylactic shock and was told I could go. I asked if my mother could be called which was not done and was told to go to the payphone in reception ( which didn't work) to call myself a cab home and watched staff sitting around their station who offered no assistance and just pointed the way out. I then had to stand in a general public area and wait for a cab when I had been on a drip moments ago and felt extremely ill as it was obviously too much for them to call me a cab or assist me in any way, even to check if I was ok. Previous experiences at this hospital in terms of duty of care have been the same. I dread to think my mother or my son would have to tolerate this. The caring profession? Really?

The A&E department is atrocious. I understand that the minimum 4 hour waiting time cannot be helped on their scale, but the doctors who see you are useless. They just check your blood pressure and tell you you re fine and tell you to jog on. This has happened to me many times and each time they have been wrong and could have prevented me from suffering and developing more illnesses. Avoid if you want to live

Had an operation here, I'm under 18 so I was on the peadiatric ward. The staff were so lovely and helpful because I was so scared of general anaesthetic. The recovery room was nice and calm and warm. Jacks place where I stayed was very nice, the staff were so helpful and sweet and good to talk to, the doctors were very nice. I've been here loads of times and overall its such a lovely hospital and very good so ignorecall the bad comments!

Hi,

Hi,
First of all it might be good for an operation but for A&E it takes hours until someone will see you. So slow.
For the children it s worst, wait for ages , untrained nurse staff. Takes like hours for the doctors to actually prescribe a medicine , most of them don t know too much.
My child was crying continually for 1,5 h and they didn t even bother.
Total of 5 children was more then 4h to actually leave the hospital.
Proper british job made .
1 star is too much for this child facility.
Take care

Worst hospital in the UK I would rather drop dead than be brought here. Worst amount of covid 19 cases was a special show on BBC about the shocking conditions of this hospital. I've had so many friends and relatives die due to the incompletence of the staff. The staff are just worried about their salary and don't care about the patients.

Completely disorganised, confusing and horrible maternity experience. We were transferred to this hospital's midwife care after we had our baby and the support was inconsiderate, confusing and badly organised. Especially for new parents, there isn't any compassion. I'll be doing my best to submit a serious complaint.

Attended due to the itchy rush after antibiotic treatment of the tooth. GP had no time to see me. Explained to the doctor at urgent care that the nhs dentist didn't want to exchange the antibiotic for penicillin because it causes stronger allergies. The doctor at A&E was so angry that the dentist din't want to take a risk that she prescribed me... penicillin. I am afraid to take it :/ And to be honest ... staff is stressed, doctors who work there seem to hate their job. One of them rolled his eyes when had to wait for a few seconds for a girl who was barely moving. NHS is overloaded. I feel for you. Really! And support. Psychological help required.
Anyway, AE works with dispatch in my opinion.

The worst hospital I've ever been to!, I've been here over a dozen times throughout my life and none of them have ever been a good experience, the 12 hour wait in A&E was probably the worst and got sent home in a worse state than when I went in. It's over run with patients and not enough staff and the staff seem to want to be there less than the patients.
I try to go anywhere but here now days, in all honesty I think you'd be better off going to a medivet than here .

I actually do not know what to say about this place. I mean it's a hospital. But this hospital has great views. I can see places that take like more than two hours to go through with just one window. The A406 runs around the outside of the hospitals surrounding. I think that the highest lever or floor as some might say is 9. It is so tall. I just loved it. I mean I'm generally not a fan of hospitals but this one did look quite Peng on the inside. I love the nurses. They are so nice man. They are all equally talented as well.

TERRIBLE and absolute joke! Re. The NHS, 5 month r...

TERRIBLE and absolute joke! Re. The NHS, 5 month referral wait to have a sixty second consultation to be told it will be another 6 weeks before a CT scan and blood test can take place.

Whilst waiting at reception of the urology department a partially sighted OAP whom was escorted to the desk by two paramedics was told by the nurse(?) to log in using the kiosk. She said she was unable to help him and that he had to do it himself. He then stumbled with his hand stretched out finding himself at the water dispenser.

Obviously unable to log on at the water dispenser and within clear vision of the nurse another patient told the nurse, the guy can't see. The nurse made a loud sigh and said the man would have to learn to do it himself. The other patient then had to guide the man to the kiosk prompting the nurse to stand up and shout at the man, telling him not to help. The nurse then sat back down and put her hands on her head, the OAP yet again having to be escorted to a seat because he couldn't see where they were.

With medical 'professions' like this, one might as well head straight to the morgue - but don't forget to check in at the water dispenser first!

The Hospital is split into two parts,St Marks being the newer of the two.
Speaking from personal experience I have received excellent and traumatic experiences at the Hospital.
The problem is complex, I have worked with the Kings Fund ( A Consultant body for NHS UK )
The staff at the hospital as people are mainly fantastic people who do a difficult job that is in need of a lot more support. Doctors and nurses are working flat out and mistakes are a consequence, service provision is underfunded.
Finding your way around the interior of the hospital is like a maze. Some wards have been renovated whilst others remain decades old.
I sometimes feel that I wish that a bulldozer was used and a new infrastructure was built but this is a pipe dream and I fear it's going to take a long time to"join the dots".

Staff cant do their own job. Left on hold when my father is in their care following an operation gone wrong and then hung up on. The staff do not communicate with families nor do they with the patient. Left on own in a room for many hours without attention, pain relief or acknowledgement as well as ignoring when emergency bell is rang.

I do not know how these people are allowed to care for peoples lives. This is why people get worse

Our Mum had to stay at the hospital for 2 weeks....she had to use A&E...AAU...HARDY WARD..all were exemplary. She was so well cared for. She said she felt safe and was happy to be treated there. Also she said the food was good.

We found ALL staff so helpful...always willing to talk to use and answer any questions. They ALL worked so hard.

Thankfully she is now home and getting stronger. So a massive thank you too YOU ALL

A terrible place. Simply the worst hospital in the whole of the UK. Staff have no clue about anything and have no respect for their patients. Medieval torture methods, by comparison are far more bearable than a wait in this hospitals A and E department. Waited over 5 hours to be seen, gave up after that and decided id be better off without the treatment. If you plan on coming here I would advise bringing a sleeping bag along with you. Costa is ok, would rate it 3/5.

Wow what an amazing experience I had in this Hospital!!!!! I felt like I was transported in another century felt like 15th Century or something!!!! Was so overwhelmed that patients wait anything between 3-6 hrs to be seen fantastic Emergency Treatment!!!

The staff are absolutely in character of medieval times they should wear the costumes!!!!

It almost felt like London Dungeons but the London Dungeons was more fun!!!! The Torturing seems long and painful!!!

I saw families and children who had picnics here and were running around screaming

Seen people bleed to death in injuries in this place and were not seen for several hours!!!

Myself I ve been here multiple of times and in some cases not even seen as an emergency with excruciating Ear pains from Eustachion Tube Disfunction and Trigeminal Neuralgia!!!! Was just accounted as an Earache despite having Vertigo and severe imbalance problems and falling on the Road.

The Front staff were machanical and like futuristic Robots and lacked any human emotions!!!

Seriously this should be one of the Tourist Attractions of London it is a complete joke that in 2019 we have such places where you have to wait several hours for an emergency and when you get seen it is normally a Junior Doctor who seems completely confused on how to deal with the problem.

Thumbs up if you Agree with my Statement and let s change this awful place!!!!

This hospital offers a very poor standard of service, staff especially nurses are no good, too bothered by watching the clock or their phone, updating Facebook and twitter some nurses just go missing for hours at a time.
Staff show no care especially where the elderly are involved.
The cleaners just push the dirt around no cleaning involved, standard of food very poor, and if you complain the nurses say the patient is telling lies or it is not true.
The staff make up stats and when an inspection is due cover up everything.
Staff mainly nurses do their college work on shift mainly at night.
Agency Nurses especially on the nightly rate just abuse the system, sleeping or on Facebook and twitter, college work and falsifying NHS records of patients. Also night agency work full time at one hospital and agency in their spare time AST others, no wonder they sleep on the job!!!!!!!!!!! Very disappointing.

Having visited A@E on four different occasions with chronic pain I was finally admitted for treatment when they found the issue.I received prompt treatment here which I can't fault and I was treated very well by all of the staff.Yes, it's one of the busiest hospitals in the UK and waiting times are very long in some depts but overall I'm very satisfied with the treatments I received here.

The worst hospital ever. Please avoid it if you want to stay alive. Doctors there (if there are any, as this is student hospital) have no clue what they doing, how to help, can not even do what they have been asked to do. Everything takes long time and apratently they have been lying to me that test which i have requested has been already done and results are fine and i just found out that the results are not here yet and the specific test i have asked for has not been even done. This is all a one massive joke. Spoke to few rude doctors or people in charge who shushhhed me up saying that i do not listean and they are not use to someone asking them questions . I would love to have a choice not to pay to nhs/insurance/tax but instead to pay these money or even more for some privet health insurance and once i need their help to be treated seriously and with care. i cant express my dissapointment with nhs, th absolute rubbish.

I went in Northwick Park Hospital, Maxillofacial And Oral Surgery Unit a couple of times because of my wisdom tooth. My dentist send me for an extraction. The staff was always really nice with me, but I have been waiting more than half an year for the extraction. I called to say I am in pain and I wanted to move my appointment earlier, but they refused. I guess there are many people waiting for the same procedure, but more than half an year waiting for extraction of wisdom tooth is too much! I was really upset so I did the extraction privately.

I was admitted to A&E on Thursday 25th February with a tooth abscess and severely swollen face. The staff were all absolutely fantastic. The assessment nurse, the radiigrapher, the porter, the nurse on the ward and the 2 wonderful maxillofacial female trainee doctors who drained the cheek - they were professional, reassuring, efficient and caring. I have nothing but praise and thanks and really hope they see this.

The worst experience I ever had ! The team from maternity doesn't care about you at all ,they are racist ,they are just sitting in the reception eating sweets and laughing like they are in a pub . They do not care about their patients , I had to go all the time in the reception to call somebody because my sister in low was pregnant and she needed assistance to give birth to the baby . No good system , no one is there to manage all the staff ,they are just enjoying ,speaking and joking between them and they look fed up of all the questions you want to ask ,they don't cooperate with you . I had to assist to the birth of the child ,( me and my brother as well ) because they didn't have enough staff and asked for help , I never seen a situation like this ,never in my life . I am shocked of the treatment we received in this hospital ,shocked !!!! Do not go there if you care about your life ,this hospital needs trained STAFF ,NEW SYSTEM somebody to organise them , they need sociable and nice staff and also clean salons ,it was disgusting !
It was horrible experience !

If you end up having to visit the A&E here believe it that at some point in life you must've done something very wrong and are about to be punished for it. Careless useless staff make up 90% of the people inside. 5 hours have gone by and not a single check up has been done or been offered any beverage or food. Its a joke that every one is stuck doing admin instead of looking after patients.

I have never experienced so much waste of time waiting for a neurological consultant to turn up and see the patient. He had audacity to say, 5 hours later: "I didn't know you were waiting for me in the Ambulatory Care". The consultation took 7 minutes and I was none the wiser afterwards knowing what was wrong or what will happen next.

I recently required the care of the Northwick Park...

I recently required the care of the Northwick Park Hospital. It has been a number of years since I was at Northwick Park. The professionalism of everyone was fantastic. We are in the middle of challenging times for health care with the pandemic however the nurses and doctors were brilliant. They took the time to introduce themselves at the beginning of their day and explained what medication they were giving and why. This one act made me feel empowered that I was also in control even if I was not the medical professional.

When I was discharged, without me asking, the team in the discharge suite printed out my discharge summary for my medical records. This was beneficial as it had my new medication that was prescribed and I was able to make sure my pharmacy could ensure that they would have it in stock when I needed a repeat prescription.

As part of my ongoing care, I was required to attend a walk in clinic at Central Middlesex Hospital. To ensure that there were no problems, Northwich Park emailed Central Middlesex with details of my notes and asked them to call me to make an appointment rather than have me sit and wait to be seen.

A huge thank you to the Doctors and Nurses who were responsible for my care in A&E, the Ambulatory Care Unit and James Ward.

I am writing another review for this hospital and a terrible doctor called Orlando Swayne who instructed an unqualified doctor to do a spinal tap. I wish to reiterate he was swearing throughout and laughed after I collapsed at the end. I have been left now for three years with brain damage and screaming tics and am now dying. The doctor destroyed my thyroid and gave me autoimmune disease which is now attacking my body. Please can anyone help and get me justice. These doctors should be stripped of their jobs. I was previously an athlete

Waited inside A&E for up to 8hours. Patients lined up against walls waiting for ever to be seen. Elderly patients not being offered any water /food who were sat on beds/wheel chair or asked whether they needed comfort break. No one asked welfare of those waiting. Waited for 4 hours eventually being told it was busy will be waiting for longer. Doc and nurses shift change over at 8pm, if you are caught between this time, can be waiting even longer. Horrible place.
At James ward - stroke unit. Horrible place. Consultant don't care. Nurses mostly rough. One nurse plugged her phone into a outlet next to patients bed and left her phone next to patient. No one checked whether the stroke patients needed regular comfort breaks. When patients wet themselves they are left sitting/sleeping in their urine for ages.
Place looks run down. Under staffed.
Horrible hospital.

We are very lucky to have access to free healthcare. Walked in at 9.30 am Thursday suspecting I might have a broken piece of work tool stuck under my skin.
I was seen around 2pm, had X-rays and and operation was booked for me for next morning. I was given a shot, everyone is very professional and kind, I was given medicine and came back next day. The operation took less than 3 hours( dont know for sure- I was asleep)
Now I had water, a coffee , a sandwich and more medicine to take home.
At least 8 people attended to me over 2 days.
Also was all free on the NHS .
