North Star Property Management is a team of great people. They are all highly professional, personable, and polished. Anaiah, Alli, Quinn--all of them--are top notch folks with the highest standards and superb people skills. I've used them again and again and will continue doing so.

Faith and her team are incredible! As an out-of-state owner, I rest easy knowing that Faith is looking out for my best interests while ensuring my tenant has an extremely positive experience living in my home. It's a win-win-win situation. Faith and her team quickly respond to my inquiries and do so cheerfully - every single time, no matter what the topic is. We used North Star for six years to manage a rental home in Lake Oswego that is now our retirement home. North Star took care of rental marketing, rental agreements, rental payments, and managed all maintenance. This was critical as we were living out of state at the time. We received monthly statements from North Star that included all maintence invoices and an annual financial summary that made tax reporting easy and accurate. It was clear that we could trust North Star to do it right and to look out for our interests. We considered the commission they charged fair for the services they provided. We highly recommend North Star for professional property management.

I've used North Star to manage my condo in Portland. They are very professional -- from the marketing of the property, to the signing and renewing of the lease, to property inspection, etc., everything is done professionally and timely. They even attended the owners meeting on my behalf (as I reside out of state). I would highly recommend North Star to owners who want to rent/lease out their properties in the greater Portland area, especially in the high-end segment.

I am a real estate broker in the Bay Area, so my expectations for a property management company are pretty exacting. We're just about to close (sell) the second of our two Portland investment properties, but were so pleased to have been working with North Star these last five years. I'd note that we started with another firm (A&G) but had lots of issues. I ran into a Portland agent here in the Bay Area literally on the street, and got the referral to NSPM. They have been great.

--funds have come exactly as promised.
--minor repairs taken care of with good notice/good pricing.
--replacement sofa delivery (furnished unit) taken care of no problem and very graciously. They should have charged me (I think) for that but wouldn't.
--great end of year financials.
--great communication/updates on market/tenant feedback when we were on the market.
--thoughtful feedback on the state of the market.
--one somewhat crazy tenant but they were flawless in handling him (soccer player from overseas).

Just a great experience all around--don't go elsewhere!

very attentive to all details from organizing repairs to the finances and reporting. Information goes smoothly within the organization so if one asks for the wrong person messages and requests are acted upon by the right person. I am a novice at renting out properties. they clearly are not

Homeowners beware of this company. They will not t...

Homeowners beware of this company. They will not take care of your property. Their maintenance crew will just send you estimates for repairs even if there is no problem. In my 1 year, I had 4-5 estimates come my way when there was absolutely no problem with the house which I found when I challenged them on what the issue is. They will rip you off through their maintenance team which is extremely incompetent.

My assessment is not incorrect. Unfortunately the incompetent staff did not know how to handle bids versus approvals from the owner. Getting approvals for repairs that don t need to be done is fraudulent. The property is now being handled by another company and they are finding issues with maintenance all over the house. I can send you the bills if you are interested in paying them. The company has some of the rudest maintenance coordinators who engage in fraudulent activities of sending estimates for problems that don't exist.

The owner of North Star is clueless when it comes to handling property owners and their properties. The owner as usual showing how clueless he is by missing the point that they don't take care of owner property. I have several emails from their maintenance crew that prove otherwise.

Good luck running a shoddy company !!!!!!

We really enjoyed working with North Star! Every single member of the team we worked with was pleasant & prompt! We rented a home when we decided to move to Oregon while looking for a home to purchase. Bridgette was wonderful & showed us several homes that might fit our large family. Any questions or concerns were addressed quickly! We enjoyed renting through North Star & would gladly recommend them to friends!

Bridget was fantastic in helping me find my rental. The support staff is extremely frequently and responsive with maintenance questions/issues. I relocated to PDX from Texas and couldn't be happier with my current living situation... which Bridget made happen.

I cannot say enough great things about this compan...

I cannot say enough great things about this company and the people! The management is of the highest character, the team members are knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. I was blown away by their network of renters and the caliber of the rental pool we were selecting from. They rented my home quickly and for significantly more than what I was collecting in rent on my own. North Star has more than covered their management fee and have taken all the headaches of being a landlord away from me. My rental is now a true asset, and no longer a burden.

Thank you so much to Quinn, Alli, Anaiah, Claire and everyone else who has helped in the process and who take care of our home so well!

Background:
I am a business owner and have been managing or rental ourselves for over 15 years and I thought we did an ok job at it. Man was I wrong. In my desire to save a couple bucks I was actually giving away thousands by not having it managed and rented correctly. I used to list my home on craigs list, Zillow, and a sign in the yard. North Star took professional pictures and updated my listing on over 20-sites. They screened my renters in a kind and fair way, but at a far more stringent level than I ever did. The outcome is that they were able to get a better renter and more rent than I was ever able to. Come to find out, by not having a professional who does this for a living, I have lost 10's of thousands of dollars and 100's of hours of my time over the years trying to do this myself. I only wish I had made the switch sooner.

North Star Property Management has been fantastic to work with. I have worked with at least 3 different people in their maintenance department. They respond immediately and have always communicated very promptly. I highly recommend them.

Wanted to summarize how our first 4 months with No...

Wanted to summarize how our first 4 months with North Star Property Management has gone. I have documentation to backup each item below.

****General Summary
- Since signing a lease 11/14/18 we are still waiting for confirmation of items to be addressed.
- I personally spoke to the President of NSP via phone in November voicing our frustrations. It is early February 2019. No follow-up ever occurred.
- Based on the amount of time that this house was empty (excess of 30 days) there is no excuse for any renter walking into a rental and not having even the most basic items addressed. See below
**** Detail Summary: (There is actually more)
- Took possession Nov 2nd 2018. House had been empty for over a month which caused at least one monthly rental reduction.
- Once we took position we were asked to document all areas that needed to be addressed.
- Approx. 50 pictures later and a couple days in the house we began noticing items that seemed should have been addressed.
- Highlight of items identified after living in house for approx. a week.
**** Bosch Dishwasher:
- Identified officially on 11/11/18 per Maintenance Log of NSP.
- Dishwasher had plastic shelf rollers which were supposed to be there for shelves roll in and out and plastic racks to hold up dishes. These were either broken or basically in a pile at bottom of dishwasher.
- Noticed standing water in the bottom of DW. Attempted to run dishwasher and it did not work
- NSP contractor visited house to confirm findings
- Status Update: 12/12/18. Standard TV & Appliance showed up to replace dishwasher (month after issue identified)
- When appliance installer entered the house I ask what he was installing. He said a low-end Frigidaire . I ask for clarification and he said that he thought he was at the wrong address because you don t put this kind of DW s in this kind of house .
- I ask him to not install the DW and I would work with NSP to align on something closer to what was represented when we rented the house.
- New Bosch DW was installed within the next week.
****Dacor Oven
- Identified officially on 11/11/18. Verbally identified before during with NSP team.
- Light in oven does not come on when switch is activated.
- Fixed on 12/13/18
*****Subzero Refrigerator
- Identified via Maintenance portal on 11/11/18
- Minimal Ice being produced by Ice Maker
- Never addressed: Finally gave up on expecting response
****** Built in Soap Dispenser on Counter Broken and not functional
- Identified officially on 11/11/18.
- Was replaced in mid November with a dispenser that does not match the modern feel of the home
****** Light and Fan Switches on Range Hood Do Not work
- Identified as well on 11/11/18
- Were repaired in December 2018. Delay was caused "NSP input" due to switches on backorder
******Gas BBQ Completely non-functional
- Identified via Maintenance portal on 11/05/18
- When viewing BBQ it was clear that entire burner section within BBQ had disintegrated over historical use.
- Still not repaired/functional as of this writing

*****Exterior Landscape Lights non functional
- Several (7) of the exterior Landscape lights were not working
- NSP Maintenance was sent over to investigate
- 4 of the light were fixed (bulbs replaced)
- 3 others were not able to be fixed and I was told we needed to decommission as there were plenty of Landscape lights that were functional
- I personally dug up one of the lights and quickly figured out that it was not getting 12v due to a broken wire. I replaced the wire and light now works perfectly.
- Other two up-lights were replaced under warranty by the lighting manufacturer.
***** Window Cleaning
- One of the huge draws of this house was the floor to ceiling windows.
- When we moved this was identified. After several requests we have received no response and still have not to this day.

Slow and unnecessarily protracted lease process. Speed to market is horrible. Onerous lease terms exceeding Oregon Law. Expect a boutique firm culture -- aloof and slow; not flexible or, renter friendly.

Bridget and Anaiah were amazing and made the process so easy and went above and beyond helping us get the home we wanted.
