This is the third time I have brought a youth group to iRock. It is a favorite activity every year. This was the first time we rented the facility for just our group and it was definitely worth it. The staff was extremely helpful and interacted in a fun way with our youth. There is a good variety in the difficulty of climbs and the free climb boulder is nice for when people need a break.

Would have given five stars!!! DUE TO THE RAT SIZED COCKROACH that was dead on the mat by the Little Rock. I can only give 2 stars. Had soo much fun until I realized I was climbing with ROACHES. Please take care of that problem so I can go again. :(

We went here nervous nellies we were lol (bad experiences at other places)! The two girls were very helpful and didn t make us feel uncomfortable at all. They showed us how to use the equipment and safely. It s nice to be welcomed and not just expected to know everything and to be shown properly so we can have fun! I love the view as well, you can see the city and the mountains the higher you go. Prices were good too!

Definitely a place for beginners. We paid almost $30 to use a mediocre wall, none of the routes were marked, there was maybe 4 places to top rope from, it offers no lead climbing routes, you HAVE to use their safety equipment, and you HAVE to belay the way they want you to. I went there expecting a completely different experience, but if you are looking for a good place to climb small, easy routes, this is the place.

I am sincerely appalled at the lack of safety in this gym. I am an experienced climber, and so was shocked to see the employee simply show me the ropes, and then the harnesses, then walk out. There should always be a certification test before you re allowed to belay someone. So we opted just to boulder instead. You can t use chalk, the safety mats didn t even cover all the crucial areas where you could fall, and all the holds were very slippery. This place is a joke, just pay the money to go two blocks over to The Front, where you ll climb real walls safely.

***DANGEROUS AND OUT OF DATE ***

***DANGEROUS AND OUT OF DATE ***
**CLIMB AT YOUR OWN RISK**
If I could give negative stars I would. I am an experienced belay/top rope certified climber and was APPALLED at the level of risk apparent at this facility, especially considering this is a beginner level site for FAMILIES. Here are the main things you NEED to know before going here:

-There were no attendants or supervisors on-site during our time at this facility. At all. (While children were on top of the boulders unsupervised trying to jump from one on to the other, 12 ft off the ground)
- The gates (closures) on their carabiners for the Belay ropes did not close properly and were obviously not serviced for some time.
-The "Auto-Lock" Belay devices that they EXCLUSIVELY USE did not lock into place, then would not open fully for release. Again, out of date and EXTREMELY UNSAFE.
-Customers were not given any instruction of how to use the devices when we were on-site, kids and adults alike did not have their harnesses secured properly, nor were they using the belay devices safely.

As an experienced climber I was APPALLED at the lack of instruction or supervision. While Belaying my spouse, who had reached the top of the wall (also an experienced climber), my Bleay device failed and I had to SHOUT to get a lacksidasicle TEENAGER to come out of the other room to help release the jammed belay device...which should not take two people to release.

I would rather climb outside without gear 1000ft off the ground than ever visit this facility again.

If you want to go rock climbing and take your family, go to a gym, Momentum Climbing, or The Mine, or any other gym, there are a number of safe and affordable gyms in the area. Trust me, this is not worth the jacked up prices to sign over your literal life on an iPad wavier. You would get a better deal and much safer, more educational experience at an indoor gym where you can actually be certified to know what you're doing.

Lots of walls to climb. You should go with a friend so that they can feed your rope - though there is one wall that does not require any additional assistance. This was fun! Lots of different levels to choose from - some easy, and some challenging. Would definitely recommend going - pair it with IFly and Florider and you will have a great night ahead of you!
