i went to nsvc for a contact exam.. . i explained i dont have insurance, and was paying cash.......
i was examined by an associate and then seen by dr semic ... very nice ..competent... she said try these contacts and come back in a week./.i wwas given a bill and it showed a small discount ... the dr being nice!!!giving the discounted insurance rate i guess... very nice!.. i paid the bill and left .
a week later i did follow up with a 5 min appointment.. the dr offered to sell me those contacts for 2x as much as on the internet... they declined to ,match price.. i left

2 months later i get a bill from a collection agency saying i owe more than the original bill of $200 ... i callled and said this must be a mistake i paid my bill... i onlly saw the dr for 2 min on the follow up .. no way could thjis appointment be more than the complete exam .
a couple of weeks later i get a phone call from chris a worker at the clinic... accusing me of not paying my bill!.

i explained what had transpired and she became insulting and belligerent telling me i didnt pay! .. yes i did ..i responded;;
i paid for my exam at trhe time of service ... i also said it is not right to charge me a different amount much later after the fact.. she said they made a mistake in billing... instead of the 145 i paid .. i owe 215 more!!
shje said she is sending me to collections..very frustr5ated .. i checked around

i have checked around... most places charge between 75$ and 150 for a contact eye exam ,,,
nsvc is trying to bill me over $415... thats wrong ...
BUYER BEWARE...

its horrible for someone to change the bill after the fact over 2x as ,much
and then.strong arm tactics...threatening ruining your credit...

go somewhere else!

This place is a rip off. I have talked to two other coworkers who used to go to this place but got charged crazy high prices for check ups and contacts. We've all stopped going and just realized we all had the same experience. Take your business somewhere that treats you fairly.

The doctors at North Suburban Vision Consultants (and the people helping out the doctors on rotation to become ones themselves) are super friendly and very knowledgeable! The equipment in that office is state of the art so you're really getting the best eye care you possibly can!

They are professional, efficient and caring -- highly recommend!

Extremely happy to have been given an appointment with Dr. Brafman for my first visit on the same day I called. Dr. Brafman is excellent and I look forward to future eye care from her. The staff was also friendly and helpful and willing to thoroughly answer any questions I had. The tech, Richard, was especially helpful and took his time performing the initial checks and answering questions. North Suburban Vision Consultants is a very professional operation.

Unforunately, I had nothing short of an awful experience with Dr. Eiden. Before the appointment I called to get some information, and was told the contact exam would be between $100-$500, and that the doctor had a reasonably open schedule and that they would be able to fit me in for follow-ups without a problem.

Instead 95% of the exam was done by an optometry intern, never even refracted by Dr. Eiden. Maybe 5-10 minutes was spent with Dr. Eiden. I was charged $1000 just for the exam alone for fitting of a 'Kerasoft lens'. I would hardly call it an 'examination' on the part of Dr. Eiden. For the dispensing of the contact lens, they told me subsequently that Dr. Eiden has essentially no availability FOR THE NEXT MONTH! Just for the dispensing and trial of the contact.

Classic bait and switch. I was also given the runaround by the office staff repeatedly transferred to voicemails instead of an actual person and calls and never responded to.

I don't think I will return there for any of my contact needs and have disputed the charge with my credit card provider.

Was very impressed with Dr, Simic. She is very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the exam results. This office has all of the latest digital testing equipment. Less impressed with the front office. Was told I owed $285. When I questioned the amount, it was changed to $41 for the glasses (VSD) and the rest was billed to my insurance (BCBSIL). Ask a lot of questions about the frame and lens pricing

Dr. Press is someone I have complete confidence in. He takes time to talk to you and does not rush you. I have never had such a complete workup on my eyes with anyone. The girls in the Northwest Hwy office are wonderful.

Thorough and very high tech, this optometric/ophthalmology practice is a great place on the North Shore for eye exams and lens fittings. A bit more pricey than most offices, the technology and expertise is worth the extra cost.

I have been a patient of Dr. Eiden's for years. My annual check-ups are always very thorough and all issues and treatment plans are clearly explained. Friendly and caring staff. Clean and modern office. Would recommend Dr. Eiden to anyone seeking eye care.

The time to be seen took a while and they lost my appointment. It was a good thing that I was half an hour late as it is. I was brought in almost immeditately to do the pre-testing. The wait for the doctor was a while too. But, when he finally came in he was very patient with me and helped me a lot. He explained my problem very well to my husband. He was also very considerate about everything.

I don't trust my sight to just anyone! The care at North Suburban Vision Consultants is by far the best I have ever encountered. You can rest easy under their watch. I highly recommend them!

Anna (staff) was very knowledgeable and explained everything with great detail. Dr. Eiden was very pro-active and explained everything to me in great detail and did not try to sell me something I did not need. He was very honest and upfront about what might help my condition and what he thought was not going to help. He was very straightforward and I appreciated that. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Eiden and his staff are excellent. They are very thorough and I left feeling confident that my eye care is in great hands with them. Highly recommended.

I've been seeing Dr. Eiden since he opened his practice. He's great. He's the eye doctor you want. He saved my wife's eyesight more than once.

I have been a patient of Dr. Simic for more than 3 years , She taking care of every single detail in my treatment plan , She is the best , The staff and the office is state of the art . If you need the best vision care , the is one place , North Suburban Vision Consultant .

Avoid this place unless you have unlimited money and don't care if you pay more than you have to.
I'm enrolled in Eyemed for vision insurance. My old eye doc was no longer in the list of providers so I had to select a new one. When I called NSVC, I got the sense they wanted to do extra tests above a normal exam. I told them that I just wanted an eye exam to renew the contacts prescription that I had been wearing for longer than ten years. They said they could do that but be sure to mention that to them when I came in. When I went in, they wanted my medical insurance card. I told them they did not need that because I was just here for an eye exam to renew my contact prescription and get a supply of contacts. I refused to give them my card pointing out that I have never had to produce a medical insurance card for an eye doctor. I also told her I don't like scams and BS. She told me they don't scam or BS but she backed off on wanting my medical card. Ten minutes after my scheduled appointment time, I was brought through two exam rooms and given various tests. Then I was told the doctor would be in. Dr. Eidel came in and started looking over the computer saying he is evaluating the health of my eyes. I re-iterated that I am just here for to renew my prescription for, and get contacts. He said we can stop here because "He would not be handcuffed" by the limits of my insurance, or words to that effect and that contacts will require exams that are not covered by Eyemed. He did not offer any idea of how much over my $10 copay this would be but I decided at that point to leave and not be scammed. He told me to have a nice day.
I have since notified Eyemed so they can confirm if he is, or is not providing the contracted services that Eyemed allows.
There are all kinds of scams out there. I believe this provider contracted with Eyemed but wants to add extra unnecessary services to make extra money at the patient's expense.

There aren t many things more important than our sight. I know because I was legally blind for many years. During those years NSVC corrected my vision and allowed me to go about my life with good vision in spite of the limitations of my damaged eyes. When it became more difficult to maintain my vision, Dr. Eiden suggested multiple surgeries to provide a more permanent solution to my problem. He put me in touch with a wonderful surgeon and the results of the surgery and his continuing care were nothing short of miraculous. Not only does this office provide the most professional care possible (I know - I ve seen a lot of eye doctors), they are such nice people. They provide eye care for my wife, grown children and, now, my grandchildren. I m so grateful for what they do for us. Don t waste your time anywhere else.

I was really impressed with this office. The place is large, with state-of-the-art testing facilities and competent staff. They took me right away and spent a lot of time ensuring I got perfect contacts for me. I had a complex case so I really appreciated it. The staff was patient, well trained and really nice. I would definitely recommend.

Great first visit for my Kindergartener! Dr. Vesna Simic and her staff did a great job in keeping my little one happy and calm. Definitely will be back!

My wife has terminal cancer and her vision recently deteriorated due to chemo. This place is very close to our home and I took her there for an exam.

Before going, I scheduled an appointment and asked for a regular eye exam for glasses and contacts. The scheduler explained that prices start at $75 and many exams cost $75-150, but they also have more expensive tests. I told her that all she needs is a regular exam and new prescription.

After the exam, my wife came out and looked a bit shocked. I asked her what happened, she told me that they did a lot more than usual and charged her $422. For an eye exam. $422!!!

I called an tried to rectify this with the practice manager, Beatrice Miller, but she never called me back.

So, perhaps, these doctors are somehow better than than the rest, but they have sold services we did not ask for and charged 3X more than we could have paid anywhere else for the same deliverable. Shame!

The secretary was so nice when I told her I was dealing with an "eye" issue. She got me in RIGHT away. I saw Dr. Press who was really great to work with. He was so friendly and spent a lot of time looking at my eyes. He took his time explaining things to me and answering all my questions. I felt very comfortable there and would definitely recommend Dr. Press to my family and friends. The office was very clean with a minimal wait.

My wife and I have been coming to North Suburban Vision Consultants for years. Their knowledge and professional skill is beyond the norm. Dr Matz and assistant Anna did a thorough exam with great personal attention and care. I highly recomend their services and know you will not be disappointed. they are at the top of their game

I went to the office today for my annual check up. They have GREAT a great safe system set up. They took my temperature prior to letting me in the door. I had to call the office and a tech came to get me alone. We walked directly into the testing room. The Tech assured me the room was cleaned as well as all of the test machines I was to use. He maintained social distancing and everyone wore masks. I was walked into a room marked CLEANED. At the point the other tech went through the sight test and had distance while doing so. Then Dr. Eiden Came in with full scrubs on with his mask to perform the next set of test. They installed a plastic shield in between him and the test machine and me. Always maintaining as much distance as possible. I felt EXTREMELY Safe the entire time. Even the Payment/check out had the clerk come to the Door as I sat in the chair 8 feet away. I gave her my credit card number verbally, she wrote up the receipt and laid it on the chair and said she will mail me the receipt from the credit card. Great set up and organized.

Completely professional operation from top to bottom. Dr. Eiden, Dr. Matz , their staff and facility are as good as it gets.

Dr. Eiden and staff were amazing! They were very accommodating and attentive. Dr. Eiden went above and beyond to explain my test results, procedures and gave options for treatment for my keratoconus.

Everything is done professionally and Dr. Eiden takes his time to discuss eye care. Great place!

The facility is equipped with most advanced technologies, and the office and waiting areas are well maintained and comfortable. The doctors there are highly trained and experienced in their fields, and they are also very caring and courteous. They would take time to explain to you about eye diseases, their causes, the reasons of tests, and technologies available to treat or help. Accommodating individual patient's special need is a unique strength of this clinic. The staff and optical technicians are the best I have experienced. They complement the doctors in helping patients: leading you through all the steps of the office visit and exam in a very smooth and courteous manner, performing part of the vision tests, checking insurance coverage for vision exam, lenses, and frames and giving importance advice to your decision.

My family and I have been with this clinic for seven years for regular check ups, prescription glasses and CRT for one of us. We really enjoy their consistent high quality service. I highly recommend North Suburban Vision Consultants for your eye care.

I have worked with North Suburban eye care for 2 years. I have very difficult eyes to fit and they have been super, patient, knowledgeable and professional. They have an extensive array of equipment to measure contact fit.

Dr. Matz was thorough and took her time to explain all tests and procedures as well as ensuring that my prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses were accurate. Went to see Dr. Matz for eye infection, she was able to diagnose it in minutes and perscribe the right treatment, it was the easiest and most professional experience at the the optometry office yet. I highly recommend to anyone who wants an attentive and talented optometrist.

Office entryway and interior was very clean and nicely designed. Dr. Milana Matz and her assistant along with the entire staff were very professional.
Dr. Matz explained each and every procedure. I was also impressed with the equipment as everything appeared to be the latest and best providing patients with great examinations and results.

Extremely poor customer service. I had a scheduled appointment and they made me wait over an hour and still didn't see a doctor. I left and I won't be coming back. They were extremely rude when I talked to the clerk to ask what the wait was for. I wasn't given any good reason.

I came to their office because I saw another doctor there a few years ago that I LOVED. Although they were out of my network I decided to revisit them anyway and pay out of pocket. When I scheduled the appointment I explained that I was out of network and would be self pay (also told the guy at the front desk I was self pay when I checked in). The exam was fine and the doctor was thorough and I was pleased when I left, even after spending $1280 of my own money for visit and glasses. Fast forward to 2mons later, I received a bill in the mail for $190. I called to ask why, considering I stated when scheduling AND at check in that I was self pay. For whatever reason they decided to bill my health insurance for part of the visit. Needless to say I am pissed and won't EVER return! If I'm standing in front of you with my credit card paying at time of service what I thought was the FULL balance, why you would bill my insurance (after I TOLD YOU SPECIFICALLY I am out of network) really angers me. So now I have another bill and when I spoke with the office the only thing offered to me was, "I don't know, I'll have my supervisor call you back" which of course NEVER happened. I am partly to blame as I knew Dr. Velting was no longer there but based off his service I took a gamble and lost. POOR customer service, the front desk needs to pay more attention to what they are being told.

A very friendly staff and great hours. They were very willing to give me my prescription (unlike some places) in case I wanted to buy glasses elsewhere. I didn't feel pressured to buy frames from them after my appointment, but still received fantastic customer service when looking for frames.

I took my daughter for eye checkup in Oct 2015. Even though I had the appointment I had to wait for long before doctor can be seen. I had to remind the front desk staff multiple times that I am getting late for next appointment. After the test, I was informed that my daughter has gone through Optomap and it will not be covered through insurance. This cost could have been avoided if staff here takes care of timely appointments and communicate to their customer appropriately. I had no option but to pay for it from pocket. They claim that they bill through insurance, however they will not follow the rates agreed by insurance companies. This can be simply avoided by not filing the claims to insurance, they believe is not covered. The front desk staff (especially Caroline) is the worst I have seen my life. She is rude, will not listen and won't let you speak. Overall I had the first worst experience dealing with doctor staff. I will never recommend North Suburban Vision Consultants to any of my friends.

Dr. Simic was great! She was very thorough and helped zero in on a vision problem my daughter has been experiencing for 6+ months. Courteous staff, modern office and facilities.

Best doctor s Dr.Eiden and his staff are the only One s I trust for our vision! These doctor s really care and take time to explain everything. We live over an hour away but it is worth the trip that I make every single year I highly recommend Dr. Eiden!

I have seen Drs. Eiden and Press for Corneal Reshaping Therapy and they are both extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Bonafide experts in CRT, and very friendly, helpful, and willing to explain everything they're doing.
