Nope I never ceases to amaze and delight with their performances all wonderfully varied and inspiring
Review of event hosted by NORPA, not necessarily a review of NORPA's practices as it is the only event I have attended at NORPA. O, How I Dreamt Of Things Impossible. I attended this on 24 October 2020. I will say it was very good to see the inclusion of at least 4 individuals with trisomy 21 in the stage production. But I do find it extraordinarily disingenuous what the producer put in the programs. A reasonable person was left with the impression, prior to the performance commencing, that this was a production that started from a group of professional Ballet dancers and that the artist wanted to have it as more of an interpretive dance thing. What no one expected is that, with perhaps 1 exception, none of the persons were trained ballet dancers, I do not intend to target the overall performance as it is in no way fair to expect more than what was provided from a Down Syndrome individual, however the simple taste it leaves in my mouth is that the person did not want to use professional dancers and instead wanted to make a lot of money with little effort. It is admirable that a person would use persons with a disability in a performance like that to begin with, so why embellish it? In a town like Lismore it would have been unique.
Wonderful concert by the Australian Chamber Collective featuring principal violinist Helena Rathbone.. great acoustics, excellent venue and a very appreciative audience.. please come again
