No-Li Brewhouse Review

I'm having some basic math issues here...

NoLi has a "policy" -- if you have more than nine people in your "group," they won't separate your bill ("Groups of 10 or more have to pay on a single tab"). These groups also get a 20% gratuity automatically added. The waiter said that their policy was "posted on a five foot by five foot sign out front." I took the time to find the sign on the way out -- it was "two foot square" and looked a lot like the other "wall decorations" they had up.

So, here's the deal: If I go in with eight of my buddies, our group of nine can get nine separate checks and pay each individually. If a tenth person accompanies us, we are limited to one tab -- then we have to go home and try to "sort out" the bill among ourselves. These days, I normally tip 25% or more for any sort of decent service. Unfortunately, the service was slow and far from decent.

Today, we had three people join our group late. The food that two of us ordered -- and waited 30 minutes to receive -- got served to two of the "late comers." The two of us had to wait a full hour for our meal because the waitstaff could not keep "who ordered what and when" straight. With that kind of service, I am not inclined to tip 20%; maybe not any "any percent" at all; but, because of their policy, I had no choice.

I went to NoLi hoping to find another "good dining experience" within walking distance of work; I found frustration and stupidity. They got $500 out of our group today; that will be the last money they get from me!

Can somebody tell me how this policy "adds up"?

Great brewhouse! We re on a road trip from North Carolina and had a nice experience. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, leading us to the beers that suit our taste. And since we were from out of town we got a treat of some awesome bump stickers to take home (which will make it onto our bar table at home)!

I have been here a few times before and was left feeling underwhelmed with their parking situation, food, and beer selection.

We decided on NoLi for a going away dinner for a coworker as it provided a central location. The organizer of our group of 10-12 attempted to call earlier that day during posted , but nobody answered the phone.

We decided to chance it since it was a Tuesday, but upon arrival, a large sign was posted stating they have now instituted a policy that groups of 10 or more will have an automatic 20% gratuity added AND they will not separate the bill. That means the bill total will be divided equally amongst the party even if one person gets 1 beer and another gets 5 drinks and dinner.

Assuming you are okay with this practice, don't be surprised if your group has to wait a long time for multiple tables together to open up - they do not allow reservations!

Having worked in hospitality for many years, I am shocked. I could understand the gratuity if their service and food were exceptional, but it isn't. Part of earning that gratuity is dividing checks.

Not impressed with this place at all. Will not ever be back.

The beer is good with 11 taps currently. The food is tasty, as well. However, the service is poor. Our table sat with empty beers for 10 minutes or longer. We did not see a server pass by in that time. I might stop back in for a growler fill, but ordering food here is off the table.

For being the brewery you would think their prices would be better. Parking is always iffy and it is always busy. Great beer though.

We looove going there! We love the atmosphere, the food, the beer and everything! But what we find absolutely ridiculous is how we had a large group come in and HAD to be on one single tab between 20 people. It really didn t make sense at all. As a person who works in a similar atmosphere, It is not hard to split tabs at all. It is extremely simple and it shouldn t even be a question. You should absolutely accommodate your customers. There are a million high-end restaurants that do not MAKE you do anything like that. It is confusing to everyone and doesn t make any sense. It should really be changed or re-evaluated.

Loved the outdoor patio and staff was super nice and helpful

Tucked back in a warehouse like space. Pretty small inside but huge outdoor area. "Bar" had a flame track down the middle so stayed nice and warm. No taps in site they brought you each beer. People were real nice, brewer was sitting next to me. Was the best beer I had in Spokane that trip. It is a nationwide beer now but there is a reason.

Just tried their mango IPA. It was so delicious. I dont typically like IPA but this was so refreshing!!

the limited food menu sucks (along with quality of food), the beer never tastes the same, and the employees all complain about the owner and manager. I read a bunch of reviews and see a lot of the same complaints as well as the establishment not supporting the 2nd amendment. this veteran will never go back.

Unfortunately I used to be a huge fan of the Big Juciy IPA. In my opinion the only quality beer they had on tap. Come to find out everytime I order it or buy it in a store, it seems to taste completely different. I was also informed that the Big Juciy cases sold as a fundraiser were a bad batch of Big Juciy and it was just an easy way to unload it and still make a dollar. Employees are great and friendly however the owner is someone I will no longer support. With that being said Spokane Has Heart however NoLi does not. Also for their lack of military support and deliberate hatred toward the second amendment I will take my money elsewhere.

No-Li Brewery has a great atmosphere. Great outdoor seating that we didn't use because we had a large group. They were able to accommodate our group and we had a great meal. Pretzel appetizer was YUMMY and we loved the artichoke spinach dip. Beer was great. Service was fast and correct. Lot to be said for a large group! We'll be back! Thank you!

The service was topnotch, and the barrel-aged barley wine was to die for.
