The stay was really comfortable with good service. The ambience was the first thing that I really appreciate about Niittany Lion Inn. The tint and the interiors were so cool. The room was clean with all amenities includng coffeemaker, TV, AC, telephone, alarm clock, and ironing table/box. The consumables were replaced/refilled on time and room was serviced as required. The 2 queen bed room was more than good enough for me.

One of our room card keys did not work properly and I got it replaced soon after I called the lobby. Even though the replacement also didn't work, I believe there is a good reason for that and could have been corrected if approached.

Overall experience was good. Note that you'lI get complementary apples, complementary coffee and water, Shuttle service across the university and transit to bus station in checkout, which adds to my suggestion on Nittany Lion to be one of the suitable places for a comfortable stay near Pennstate University.

My family stayed at the Nittany Lion Inn over the weekend to visit the PSU Campus and attend a football game. They were very happy with the accommodations and I was impressed with the customer service and shuttle that allowed them to explore the campus and travel to and from the airport with ease. I recommend staying here, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. They are so helpful and knowledgeable at the front desk.

The front desk staff was inefficient and unhelpful. The Valet parking took over 30 minutes to get my car and nobody acted with any urgency. The room service food and staff was bad. I paid over $300 for a suite and was told in the morning when I requested an extra 30 minutes past the 11AM checkout that they would not accommodate my request. Student help was lackluster at best.
Overall quite a poor experience.

A lot of money for a modest amount of well-prepared food. We had to move our car because we were not informed that we would need to use vallet parking for dining customers. It would have been nice to have been told this upon phoning in our reservations. Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable experience.

I stayed here for a graduate school interview at Penn State. The food for dinner and breakfast were very good. The staff was very friendly and professional. I enjoyed my experience and would definitely stay here again!

Had an excellent breakfast at the Inn. They have two buffet options, all of your breakfast standards, friendly staff, and a cozy-not-haughty environment. Try the goat cheese chorizo breakfast quesadilla!

My room was conveniently located right beside the area where our conference was held. At first I was concerned that noise from the conference would bother me in my room, but I never heard a sound. The room was very nice, conference accommodations were excellent, and the lobster bisque in the dining room was delicious.

I attended a conference at Penn State and stayed at the Nittany Lion Inn. The Inn is beautiful, with an Old World style and charm but with modern, comfortable rooms and attentive customer service. Meals in the restaurant were delicious, especially the breakfast buffet. The bar is nice with an extensive selection of beer and wine. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Stayed overnight in a single room. The room was really clean and had great amenities, staff was extremely friendly and those apples in the lobby were some of the best I had. As a college student I felt a little out of place in the hotel but the staff made my girlfriend and I feel very welcome. Would stay here again.

Very beautiful place and friendly staff. I would totally give it five stars. Unfortunately, however, I can't do that. The very first night I ever stayed here, 8 September 2018, with my parents visiting me at Penn State, I heard galvanizing noises coming from what sounded like directly above our room for about five minutes. You read that right; in and out action and loud, too directly above us. Appalling, disrespectful, and very inconsiderate. Is it really that hard to keep it down..like really? It can't be that good! I would stay here again, but if I have a similar experience, that's my last time staying there. Very nice place nonetheless.

I love how big the rooms are. Well equipped rooms, complimentary water. The Exercise room has enough workout machines to get a good workout. There's a couple of really nice restaurants in the hotel that had really great food. Next time I'm in the area this is the hotel I'll be using.

The water in the sink did not drain well upon arrival. I alerted the front desk and a maintenance person came with in minutes. Fixed the problem. Computerized heating system had not been updated to reflect occupancy so the room temp was 72 all nite long. Uncomfortable for me. I couldn't even turn the heat off. They fixed it in the morning after I called.

They anticipated my every need, and were wonderful. Oh,well, they didn't anticipate that I would forget my luggage and start driving home, but they were helpful and amazing when I came back, panicked, to get it. AMD they have ice cream! GET HERE

The Hotel was what you'd expect. Beware of the parking garage. Penn State University uses them to extort money with flagrant abandon. READ ALL POSTED SIGNS WHEN YOU IMMEDIATELY ENTER THE GARAGES. The parking police have posted a long list of interesting rules and intentionally neglect to post them anywhere else in the building. BEWARE - or you will be fined $40

I had dinner at a formal event held in the ballroom space. The food and catering was excellent, the location what you'd expect. Big open space, chandelier, I don't know I was there for food and networking. It did it's job well.

Place is overpriced for the quality of service you receive. Water pressure is terrible and the complimentary shampoo reaks of class oppression. But is the perfect place to see a Penn state administrator catching a quickie with a student.

I was greeted with a deadpan "I can help you over here" when I arrived. They did allow me to check in early. I asked if they could keep an eye on my laptop/hanging bag for a moment while I continued to unload items from my vehicle and I was told to "Leave it anywhere here or around the corner (out of eyesight of the front desk staff?) You are the only person in the lobby, I'm sure it will be fine." Not the helpful happy welcome I typically received upon arrival in a hotel.

There is not coffee/tea available in the lobby and there is no coffee/tea bar in the hotel. In all fairness, I was told that I could go to the sit down restaurant to purchase an overpriced cup of tea if I had the desire...but that was not the portable option I had in mind. I could use the Keurig in the room (complete with shrink wrapped powdered creamer/sweet & low/red stirrer) but there are no disposable cups available so again, not the portable option I was hoping for.

The room numbers are not always consecutive...it can be an adventure finding your room. Might want to ask for a map.

The rooms are consistent with any dated lodging facility. Brass fixtures, dark lampshades, faded landscape art, mini refrigerator randomly shoved against a wall (nothing around it...just a refrigerator shoved against the wall), a dark, scratched armoire angled across a corner...it reminded me of a Country Inn and Suites. The overall atmosphere is heavy, dark and dated.

There are vending machines available; there is a gift shop with PSU memorabilia and standard snack fair (pretzels, Nature Valley Granola bars, etc.) in the lobby.

The bathroom is clean (even the white grout between the tiles was clean) and there was a supersized bathtub...this was an unexpected treat. Towels are average hotel towels (consistent with Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, etc); no robe, no disposable slippers, average toiletries.

The fact that it is used for so many Penn State-related functions makes the location convenient. I will stay here again if I have to attend another event in the facility...I can't imagine returning outside of that circumstance.

The rooms are larger than I expected for a non-suite. The front desk was also very accommodating when asking for an East room. I would stay here again next year, but it's 3 miles away from my conference in their sister hotel.
