I've been a regular attendee (1-3 times a month) to Nitehawk for 4-5 years and it's my favorite theater. Seating with table and food and drink ordering for perfect dinner and movie. Orders are never wrong because you write it down. Staff is friendly (tip your waiters!). The burgers and fries are a must and great cocktails. Love their movie selections, both new releases and midnight ruins of monthly themed oldies. Also a member of their film club. Always a monthly treat to new movies I might've skipped.

Food and drinks are great here (you must try the tots)! Love that their menu changes and that they do themed food and drinks for special viewings. My friend and I tried the butter beer for the harry Potter showings.

Great cinema, that serves you food and drinks during the show. Cool concept where there is a table between every two seats with cupholders, menus, and scraps of paper and pencils to write your order on. The service is great and really not intrusive at all. Well worth the trip. I found the ticket price ($12) to be pretty cheap and the food prices weren't bad (not cheap but not a rip off like most big theater chains)

This is a great and intimate theater which offers dining and drinks with movie showing. It takes a while to get used to having wait staffs walking back and forth during the show but it is nice to have more than popcorn to enjoy the movie with.

Unique theatre. They serve food and drink before and during the movie. The menu changes with the movie selection. During a horror movie, there are more spicy dishes. All of the dishes are interesting. It is fun to sit in the large roomy comfortable seats, while eating and drinking your favorite foods and beverages. There is a large selection of food, everything from appetizers to full course meals. I ordered the shrimp & fish tacos with pineapple salsa. They were good. I could not resist s pumpkin drink with rum, vanilla, and pumpkin cream. That was delicious. We also tried the popcorn with truffle butter and citric salt. My friend the jerky, which was very tasty. Prices are reasonable. I would go back. It was a night of fun. Great place to watch scary movies, while eating "scary food".

Nitehawk is where the film exhibition business should be headed. They have perfected an unobtrusive system for enjoying a quality meal while watching a movie. The food is very good (especially when compared to the chain theaters,) but I wouldn't return only for the food. From the bar downstairs to the ordering system to the themed menu choices, it's the entire experience that makes this a great choice. You can't go wrong with an evening here!

A cool movie theater with good quality movies. The room is always clean, the staff helps to find a place. The sound quality is excellent, the screen for watching a movie is big. Prices are a bit overpriced.

Best movie theater in NYC. Great ambience, cool originally edited videos before movie starts, and the food and drink options are delicious (thai popcorn is amazing). I thought the in theater service would be distracting but the attendants move swiftly and silently and you barely notice them.

Cozy vibe, but terrible design. Left with a stiff neck from how poorly designed the seating in this theater is. If you're anywhere close to the front row and off to the side, you're viewing the screen from about a 15 degree angle, which makes the picture quality poor. On top of this, you end up twisting your neck stiff after two hours of viewing. Wait staff is friendly, quiet and quick. If you're looking for somewhere to eat and watch a movie, you're better off getting take out and watching Netflix in your bed.

Spend a chill date here one night and watch a cool indie or a classic. The service is awesome when watching the movie. Even prior to the movie, the trailers are typically old classics of the stars themselves. It's pretty cool. Go early and get in line to get a good seat. You can grab a cocktail as you wait.

Overall not bad. The seats are not the most comfortable and a tad cramped.I would say the viewing rooms are a little small but the biggest thing is whether you've selected a good movie or not. If you've selected a good movie you'll enjoy the experience.

Nitehawk was such a fun, cool and laid back experience. Caught a 4:30pm showing on a Wednesday in March. There was a sign on the door that they open doors half an hour before the showtime. Doors opened at 4pm. And there was a line of about 12 people. It was very cold out but it was okay.

Tickets- You have two options to purchase tickets through online or in person. Since I arrived 30 minutes before I bought my tickets in person.

Parking- was able to get parking 30 feet from the building which was great. Parking was free. There is no metered parking.

Elevator- There is an elevator. When you enter go to your right it will take you there. Right in front are the stairs. There is also a full
Bar/cafe in the building on lower level when you walk in to your left. It s before the elevator.

Where you purchase tickets there is a trendy bar setup you can buy beverages before, during or after your movie.

My movie was showing on the same floor as the bar and bathroom.

Bathroom- There is one unisex bathroom on this level. Level two has more bathrooms which I didn t go too but hopefully it has more then one bathroom because I can assume at night and on weekends it is at full capacity. Bathroom was very clean and smelled very good.

Food- Really great options.
Alcoholic to non alcohol beverages
Popcorn, tator tots, sandwiches, salads.
They have vegetarian and even vegan items.
They have special items on menu alcohol and food named after the movie you are seeing which is a nice touch.

The waiter was attentive and nice. He was going back and forth and I was amazed how he remembered where everyone was sitting. You can tell him your order before the movie. When movie starts you can write down on piece of paper what you want and then stick it in the coil that is on the table and he will come by and take items fulfill the order. Check is given about 30 minutes before movie ends to pay.

Where to sit- 3 rows from the top and in the middle was perfect. All the seats were a great view. I would avoid the first two rows my preference too close.

I love that people were by themselves going to see a movie. I was with someone but really love that it s safe and nice to go alone and will do that in future.

Can t wait to go back.

Really fun spot. Small theaters, so get there early and buy tix online for the best seats. Bar on the street, bar in the lobby, drinks delivered to your seat. Tots with queso are great. Service is efficient and friendly.

One of the best movie theaters in my opinion. There are tables by the seats; you can order food, drinks or some adult drinks. They are brought to you. Make for a much better experience than the average theater. The employees are also very pleasant and helpful. Shout outs the the bartenders!

I accidentally bought tickets for a different showing than I wanted to see, and they were able to switch them no problem, which was really nice. The food and drinks were delicious, the whole experience was all around awesome.

Easily my favorite place for movies. Keep in mind all the spots/ads you see before any movie are homemade and really campy and eccentric. I love this about Nitehawk. They play a lot of really interesting movies you won't find anywhere else and they host great events too. I love the vibe here.

Food and drinks are also top notch! Interesting, well executed cocktails, decent beers. They have cool and unique snack options which won't run you more than average movie theatre food. Though last time I was there I paid $14 for a hot dog and fries, which did seem a bit steep. Otherwise I love everything about this place.

Great place to watch a nice variety of movies from commercial to indie to retro and custom showings. Food is pretty decent, if a little hard to see in the dark. Great you can get a drink! Theaters are small so be warned they sell out very fast.

Honestly my favorite theater in New York City. There are always fun screenings and a themed food menu. This is the spot that changed NYC liquor laws to allow movie theaters to serve liquor. A trailblazer... Always a fun time here! Most recently went to a movie with live score-amazing!

Awesome theater. Great staff, reasonable pricing. Interesting theater + food and serving system which didn't really get in the way of the film. Wish they got the room a little darker but I think it's a more than favorable compromise.

I don't know where else you can go where they will show you a custom-edited montage of Bruce Willis's finest film moments before watching an indie BW-JGL film (Looper) while drinking a themed cocktail. This is one of my favorite places to see movies. Their selection of movies is great, and they do fun food+movie events as well as midnight-only and brunch-only movies. Something for everyone, seriously. Plus the bar downstairs is great. The bartender once let me pick which record to play and I ended up picking the Shellac album she reserves to get everyone out of the bar at last call. It was 8pm but she still played it for me.

The Nitehawk is a fun place to go. They usually have great indie movies. While you watch a movie, they serve food and drinks. The food is pretty good and they have a nice assortment of beer. It is a little pricy but in the end it is a lot of fun.

It was horrible. My friends were targeted based on their racial background. The staff had complained two of my friends were being too loud, when in fact, they were not. They were talking in whispers and into each other s ears. One of the staff were standing next to them before they were asked to leave. It is an establishment with white working, so be wary.

Was visiting NYC and stumbled upon this gem... I had a wonderful time, what made it so was the friendly staff from servers to bartenders everyone was super cool. I enjoyed the bar it is cozy, unpretentious, crafty and very welcoming. Great service all around.

This place is great! We've been here a few times, and we've never had a problem getting seats and good service. The movie selection is pretty limited, but they screen great movies and it's well worth the price.

Love this theater! Dinner & a movie all in one! They have entrees & cocktails to match the films & the Happy Hour is the best! Love the citric salt they put on the popcorn! They can also accomdate for vegans, I love the falfel sandwich minus the feta

Really nice environment with a great staff. Where else do you get a full restaurant menu to order from at a movie? With leg room?! Also the best ticket price on a movie I've seen in years. Just make sure you get your tickets in advance. The theaters are smaller and intimate but that also means they can sell out early. Will definitely be back soon.

They serve up some great cocktails here. Had a blast last night with my girl. We ended up watching the Joker movie and it was great. Might do it again next weekend to watch Jojo Rabbit.

Nice & small, but roomy enough, that when someone gets up they don't disturb u. Very reasonable priced, especially 4 a 1st run show. We had the Risotto spinach balls, & the hot wings. They were both delicious.

Super nice concept. The movie tickets themselves are priced at $ 13. The food served is very good but a little more expensive than usual which is perfectly normal because the service is crazy: orders are taken very quickly and the dishes arrive just as quickly.

The atmosphere is super nice it is expected to laugh exclamations and reactions in the room because it's a bit of the spirit of the place, it's friendly.

PS: the water glasses are free

Nitehawk, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

1) The lobby, showcasing old VHS tapes, is a fun walk down memory lane and a unique element of their decor.
2) I've sat in every theater and there is ample leg room (so the servers can get by) and comfy seats. Great screens and sound.
3) Early arrival not only means good seats, but you get to enjoy great videos curated to the film you're about to see. (EX: When I saw Silver Linings Playbook, clips from Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence's past films played. Before the film Chef, different food scenes were played. Etc.)
4) The food is outstanding. One of the best burgers in the city, fish tacos are amazing, caramel popcorn is great.
5) I've had 1 bad interaction with a server there and have visited this theater many, many times. Staff is incredible.
6) They have lots of great "signature series" like Film Feasts, midnite screenings, etc.

Go to Nitehawk. Go now!

Great experience. The popcorn along with a drink is brought to your private table while you're watching the movie. A new & different way to enjoy the show. Super quiet & considerate audience. I'll visit this cinema location again.

This is such a hidden gem in Williamsburg! I didnt know it existed. MY coworker told me about it and i took my family here recently for brunch. Amazing little setup, doors opened promptly. When you get to your seat, in between each two seats is a little table. The menu is there, then you have paper and pencil to write your order down. a tiny light is under the table for help during the movie, then you put the paper in this ring that the waiter comes around and takes. Obvs. before the movie starts a waiter comes over and takes your ticket and order if youre ready. We watched an old movie which was really cool. Movie quality was awesome, it was nicely cool and the food was delicious and the drinks were good. The waiters were quick and did not disturb anybody during the movie. Then when there is about 20 minutes left in the movie they give you your check so when the movie is over you are all ready to do. I cant wait to go back!

I really enjoy the concept of serving sodas/alcohol drinks, food and snacks right were you sit at. It's a bit pricey but worth it with the service your getting. I came here with my wife once for Halloween day, staff/servers had on costume. They have a really nice bar were people can get a drink before you even get into see your movie. They have a small tri-angle shape table with cup holders, where you place your food and drinks on. This should be more of the direction that other movie theaters take as their sights moving forward for adults. Not to sure if it will work for kids movies. I mean you get a nice drink as your watching your movie, who wouldn't like that? My only major problem with this theater is they are not showing update movies. It's mostly old out dated movies. Every now and then you'll get a new movie showing in major theaters. That's my only reason why I can't give them a five star rating.

A really fun date experience. Or solo! One time I went in alone, and the server asked me to move to a singles section because sometimes people come in with dates. The cool thing is she gave me a free popcorn! And it was some of the best popcorn I ve ever had. If you go on a date, pretend to be single and you may luck out.
